The second one is slightly modified. There was a tip of an ass-ugly reflection messing with that nice windshield.[/QUOTE]
Dude, did we play the same Most Wanted? I feel like your shots always end up looking way better than the game was even capable of. Those in game car models are crazy detailed for what the game is.
Also, that straight cut DoF line is silly

If you are gonna go all the way with resolution, you should go all the way with image quality and just use PNGs. The jpeg quality ruined those shots.
Haha, I'll take that as a compliment![]()
True but my connection suck for upload
p.s. All png now.
It was missing something....
You should read this little write up. There are instructions at the bottom on how to pump them out with good quality.
What the... I just found one of my screenshots uploaded to reddit.
I wouldn't be surprised if Reddit had a screenshot sub that was dedicated to swiping screenshots from the threads here and Dead End Thrills or something.
But yeah, it can be amazing to see how far some of the screens from here go. I still see my Dolphin screens of Wind Waker showing up in random places.
I remember seeing the panorama's I made in Halo 3/Reach's theater mode showing up in the wildest places, too. I don't mind, but shooting a PM my way sure would've been nice.
EDIT: Oh look, same guy uploaded one of Darkdeus shots too.

k, but some screens are missing?!?
That was 2011. What took GAF so long to get a thread going in 2013? xD
I've got some great news for you bud!
Shit, I'll be honest, I still don't understand downsampling.
I just checked it and all the screens are definitely there.
It's not difficult to wrap your head around, really, if you don't go into the various techniques to do it. It all boils down to running your game at a higher resolution than the image you show off. For instance 4K downsampling means running the game at a resolution with somewhere close to 4000 horizontal pixels (e.g. 3840x2160) and then either:
- using driver software to set up a custom resolution that is higher than your native desktop size and then squeeze the large image to your desktop (mostly at 1080p or 1200p), employing a bilinear filter algorithm. Depending on how you get your screenshot, you'll either end up with the fully rendered shot, or the bilinear downsampled 1080p shot.
- using bespoke software like SRWE or widescreenfixer to run the game in a window of possibly any size or aspect ratio, and then resizing the window to fit to your desktop, while removing the borders. Your screenshooting program of choice will then get the fully rendered shot, so you can downsample it offline.
Offline downsampling is just taking a large shot and resizing it down to for instance 1080p. In doing so, you'll lose jaggies and get a much better looking image. There are various downsampling algorithms, each with their strengths and weaknesses. I swear by Lanczos3 and sometimes Lanczos2 (although that tends to oversharpen gradients leading to artificial banding), but bicubic sharpened is also popular.
So in sum: run game at large resolution, and squeeze it to a smaller size to gain in image quality, either real-time for gameplay anti-aliasing, or offline for smexy screenshots.
