Amazing how many people fail to read...
They said they're still using login restrictions (1017) as they monitor the performance of the servers and will be releasing the restrictions as time goes on.
They never said restrictions were going away, just that they expected to be able to accommodate more people per server with the new structure.

Server reset (everyone kick off) + off play hours equal fast login. After work hours is when the fun starts again.
Of course they are going to say we are monitoring / working...Do you really expect them to say we can't do shit until "supply meets demand...?"

Restrictions would be fine if I could stay online once I get in, but I've been getting consistent 90000 errors the past few days. It takes less than a minute after I log in for me to realize that a 90000 is inevitable. :-/

the patch on the PS3 is 745.87MB while the PC is 1027.31 just in case anyone wanted to know how big the patches are

Did you miss the post above you? The restrictions are still there so that not everyone rushes the serves taking them down. They will be lifted gradually. Go read the notes on lodestone. The only thing that sucks is that new character creation is still locked on Ultros.

Right, so I just restarted as a new conjurer. What's the quickest way to get back to level 10?
Really getting frustrated by the fact that I can't make a new character on either of the servers Gaf members are gathering on, Ultros or Durandal.
Making a character on Ultima and I'm certain I'll have to go through the whole annoying tutorial and intro process again when registration opens up on Durandal -_-

Still seems strange that the way they choose to limit logins is to just turn it into a mad dash. Could you image trying to go to the DMV and it was just a free for all every time a booth opened? They really should bring the queue back if only to add a semblance of order to the log in process.

Servers seem to be stable but there's still login restrictions so don't be surprised if you get 1017, give it a day or so for things to settle

Yeah, I think they pretty much said they weren't going to open the floodgates right away, that they'd slowly increase the concurrent connections.

Even NA side? Its barely 7AM where I live.
If I'm trying to get on a server my friends are on (specifically, Cerberus EU) but it's currently locked down for new characters, is this something I should be checking every couple minutes, or is it gonna take a while for them to lift the cap? Their notice site only seems to inform when worlds are getting locked, not when they're back open.

But there's no "NA side". Those servers are NA and Europe, and I believe even Australians play on those.

I'm getting the "Unable to update patch files. [11006] [20641] [20642] [20600]" for the second time in a row

Just got home and downloaded the patch for PS3. Took me about 20 minutes. Just for fun, I created a new character on the Leviathan world. I made a Hyur Thaumaturge. I'll wait till the weekend to play a little with that character. But, for now, it's back to Siren and leveling my Archer and Conjurer.

Hmm. No wonder why they have server problems? It should be US and maybe Canada together. EU should get there own servers? I'm not a server tech though.

I'd recommend reloading the server list (it's the last option you get in character creation and looks like a recycle icon) over and over again until the two show up. I've seen Ultros and Durandal pop up quite a few times (different times in the day) so I urge you not to give up if playing with Gafers is important to you.
Come on people...of course you are still hitting queues do you think the maintenance magically downsized people trying to play or moved them to other servers?
Improving technical stuff and lightening load on servers won't make it so less people are playing..it will however hopefully make the DF waiting times less and improve the queuing system to the point where you can actually see a queue count and log onto the server into the queue.

I don't think anyone can really answer this but I doubt it will change fast or would be worth waiting and refreshing. They have to monitor player logins for a while and see if the new servers take off some of the pressure on the existing ones (which I very much doubt). So my guess would be just check back every now and then (maybe a few times during the day but don't keep hitting refresh).
Even though it seems to change during the day since Phoenix was locked for a while but now some friends were able to make chars.

Before defeating
I used the ability Jump and ended up getting knocked off the platform and dying. I can't revive, can't teleport, can't return. Nothing.
Any way to contact someone to get this sorted? I issued a report bug in the help desk but I'm not sure if it works the same way as WoW does.

It's 8am EST here, I got in with a queue of 4 in a couple seconds just to see how long it would take, can't play bc I have to go to work though. And since the server is also filled with EU players, there's not really going to be any time of the day where people aren't playing. It's very awesome if you think about it, because the server is always peaking with players because while the one sleeps, the other plays. I remember in WoW during the Sunwell Isle, our server had a huge EU presence and it's how we were able to unlock the continent so fast--people were always online playing. But the downside is that it's going to push the servers.
