Games you remember, names you don't

Does anyone know this arcade Contra-influenced game? It's a side scroller shoot em up, you play as a space soldier or something and you kill whole bunch of aliens. The gameplay is very similar to Contra.

I don't mean this to sound patronising or anything but it wasn't the Euro version of Contra was it? As in Probotector/Super Probotector etc?

I know very little about this game, but I figure I'd give it a shot. It was some sort of RPG for the NES. The only things I remember are the dungeon music (which doesn't help as I can't do a search for it without a name) and an item called Flash Balls, which would allow you to exit from any point of a dungeon into the overworld.

There was a PC FPS that I think never came out. I think it was in development around 1999 - 2002ish (I think). I was interested because it looked similar to delta force 2 and delta force black hawk down in that it featured large sandbox levels withe large vistas. It had densely populated foliage unlike delta force at that time. Anyone rember this game?

Joint Operations : Typhoon Rising ?

Well I can remember playing an RPG for SNES or Genesis possibly where you could use robots in battles. It wasn't FF6 lol It might have been a game by ENIX though.

flash balls are an item in this game. Gameplay here, what looks like a dungeon towards the end of the clip

Nop. Like I said, the game takes place entirely in alien space facility or space ship. And also, there is a portrait of character's face next to the hp, I believe. The game was only for arcade machines.

The gameplay is similar to Contra and Metal Slug, like any other side scroller shooter.

A PC side scrolling game, had to kill aliens looked like a mash b/w metroid and Aliens, used the mouse to control aiming and directional pad to control movement. I just cant put my finger on the game for sometime now

Here might be a hard one:

Old PC-game. DOS. 1992-94?

Isometric view. You manage a squad of space marines or something...looks very much like Shadowlands, but still, not that game. Hou can set up their equipment and so on. I don't remember if it was turn based or not.

Kudos to the one that finds out this!

OK, then it must be Gaelco's rather obscure Thunder Hoop or (likely) it's sequel, TH Strikes Back

This game was for the Amiga. Title seemed to be generic like 'Thunderblade' or something.

The reason the game caught my eye in the first place is that in the photos for the game there would be pop-up video communications in the corner with Macross/Akira style anime characters. One of the screenshots in the magazine ad showed a guy with messy black hair ala Rick Hunter in the pop-up. The game was not Area 88/U.N. Squadron.

Basing my guess mostly on the title & anime characters: perhaps it's Rolling Thunder?

Wow, I just found a game I remember from my childhood I've been looking for ages now!

It's 3D Asteroids Impact and it is an old Shareware game I played on Win95/98.
Finding such particular Shareware games can be very tricky because there were so many back in the day and most of them weren't that popular so it's very unlikely that other people remember those games today.

But if you're also looking for a Shareware game from the mid-90s then I strongly recommend you to check out this site. With the help of this archive I was able to find "3D Asteroids Impact" again.

Too bad it doesn't work with a 64-bit system. I guess it's time to finally set up a proper Windows 98 virtual machine.

Help me out, It was a Capcom game for PS2, 3rd person shooter

I only remember the setting, which was in a Boat, Raining with a Blonde main character

Gameplay resembled Resident Evil of course, what was the name
Of this game.

I think this could almost describe a few games but the first one that came to mind that wasn't Capcom was Cold Fear: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_Fear

Figured I'd mention it in case you remembered Capcom incorrectly.

*EDIT* Nevermind, I should have read the next post first.

I'm pretty sure you're taking about Cold Fear.

There is a a baseball game driving me crazy because I can't remember the title. I don't remember much about it, except that there were hazards in the game: like, mines in the outfield.

Does this ring any bells with anyone?

Platform? Timeframe of the game's release? 2D/3D?

Were the players all robots as in "Cyber Stadium Series: Base Wars"?

90's PC game for kids, top-view puzzle/maze kind of deal.
Main character was a blue little guy. He wore a hood as well.
Edit: Maybe he was red and the hood blue IDK

It's been 10+ years since I last played this game and I can't quite get the details in my head.
I do remember collecting flowers (maybe sunflowers), some keys to unlock doors inside the levels and also carnivorous plants being a hazard. Poisonous mushrooms are also a possibility, but I can't be sure about those.

It wasn't a great hit game or anything but I do have some nice memories playing it. Any help finding it again?

I have a hard time believing this is anything but Revolution-X. Check that one out.
God.....that was it.

That was the game. I would've never imagined what the title was otherwise. I don't think you understand how long I've wondered what the hell I experienced watching back then when my neighbors were playing it.

Wow, after 17 years I guess the mystery is over...

There is this game for the Genesis.

Its like Space Harrier but even more anime like.

You play as a woman with blonde hair riding some space-bike type thing.

Some game on the Dreamcast that was kinda of arcadey, had cops, and krakens n shit. Pretty awesome. To this day, I still don't know the name of that game lol.

A Commodore 64(C64) game I played back in the day. It was a side-scrolling, top view, shooter (man and gun only!!, no space ship/vehicle types). You could choose the planets(stages) which had different amounts of reward(money) depending on their difficulty.

Ammo(grenades, dynamite, etc)and health packs were acquired before the start of each mission. Space Bar(on the keyboard) was the grenade button, dynamite was required to break through linear barricades in some of the harder stages.

I'm 99% sure i played this on cassette, this game had far too much "stuff" for a cartridge.

So, side scrolling but with a top view ? You only get to see, say, your character's head and shoulders ?
That's strange, I'll think of it
Probably not totally top view like the original Zelda on the nes.....but the top view you would get in a lot of the horizontal shooters back in the Arcades in the late 80's. The character had 8-way/360' movement, it showed the character and enemies full bodies but obviously nothing very detailed being an 80's game.
