Close, but not exactly. From what I remember, the game had better sprite graphics.
gunforce 1/2 ?

Does anyone know this arcade Contra-influenced game? It's a side scroller shoot em up, you play as a space soldier or something and you kill whole bunch of aliens. The gameplay is very similar to Contra.
There was a PC FPS that I think never came out. I think it was in development around 1999 - 2002ish (I think). I was interested because it looked similar to delta force 2 and delta force black hawk down in that it featured large sandbox levels withe large vistas. It had densely populated foliage unlike delta force at that time. Anyone rember this game?
.Joint Operations : Typhoon Rising ?
I know very little about this game, but I figure I'd give it a shot. It was some sort of RPG for the NES. The only things I remember are the dungeon music (which doesn't help as I can't do a search for it without a name) and an item called Flash Balls, which would allow you to exit from any point of a dungeon into the overworld.
Nop. Like I said, the game takes place entirely in alien space facility or space ship. And also, there is a portrait of character's face next to the hp, I believe. The game was only for arcade machines.I don't mean this to sound patronising or anything but it wasn't the Euro version of Contra was it? As in Probotector/Super Probotector etc?
Well I can remember playing an RPG for SNES or Genesis possibly where you could use robots in battles. It wasn't FF6 lol It might have been a game by ENIX though.
A PC side scrolling game, had to kill aliens looked like a mash b/w metroid and Aliens, used the mouse to control aiming and directional pad to control movement. I just cant put my finger on the game for sometime now
Robotrek!
Here might be a hard one:
Old PC-game. DOS. 1992-94?
Isometric view. You manage a squad of space marines or something...looks very much like Shadowlands, but still, not that game. Hou can set up their equipment and so on. I don't remember if it was turn based or not.
Kudos to the one that finds out this!
Maybe "UFO: Enemy Unknown"/"X-COM: UFO Defense"?Here might be a hard one:

The gameplay is similar to Contra and Metal Slug, like any other side scroller shooter.
This game was for the Amiga. Title seemed to be generic like 'Thunderblade' or something.
The reason the game caught my eye in the first place is that in the photos for the game there would be pop-up video communications in the corner with Macross/Akira style anime characters. One of the screenshots in the magazine ad showed a guy with messy black hair ala Rick Hunter in the pop-up. The game was not Area 88/U.N. Squadron.
Try this

flash balls are an item in this game. Gameplay here, what looks like a dungeon towards the end of the clip

(thanks for your input to ganxxter, but it was not ufo![]()
Sega Genesis platformer where you played as a robot with different hat powerups, and IIRC you collected fruit for points/life .
Not Dynamite Heddy
Switchblade?lol that's not it but I'm glad you linked it. I haven't played that game in years. Forgot all about it!
EmptySpace is thinking of a game that starts with 'k' and ends with 'id chameleon'.

Nope, definitely not it.
When I played Metal Arms, Glitch reminded me of this mysterious games hero.
It's not B.O.B, is it?

It's the only game were you play as a robot that I can think of. No idea how it played though.

It's definitely TH Strikes Back. Too bad this game is completely unplayable.OK, then it must be Gaelco's rather obscure Thunder Hoop or (likely) it's sequel, TH Strikes Back
Help me out, It was a Capcom game for PS2, 3rd person shooter
I only remember the setting, which was in a Boat, Raining with a Blonde main character
Gameplay resembled Resident Evil of course, what was the name

Platform? Timeframe of the game's release? 2D/3D?There is a a baseball game driving me crazy because I can't remember the title. I don't remember much about it, except that there were hazards in the game: like, mines in the outfield.
Does this ring any bells with anyone?

Were the players all robots as in "Cyber Stadium Series: Base Wars"?
God.....that was it.I have a hard time believing this is anything but Revolution-X. Check that one out.
Some game on the Dreamcast that was kinda of arcadey, had cops, and krakens n shit. Pretty awesome. To this day, I still don't know the name of that game lol.
There is this game for the Genesis.
Its like Space Harrier but even more anime like.
You play as a woman with blonde hair riding some space-bike type thing.
A Commodore 64(C64) game I played back in the day. It was a side-scrolling, top view, shooter .
Probably not totally top view like the original Zelda on the nes.....but the top view you would get in a lot of the horizontal shooters back in the Arcades in the late 80's. The character had 8-way/360' movement, it showed the character and enemies full bodies but obviously nothing very detailed being an 80's game. So, side scrolling but with a top view ? You only get to see, say, your character's head and shoulders ?
That's strange, I'll think of it
