• Hey Guest. Check out your NeoGAF Wrapped 2025 results here!

GTA V has gone gold.

Take off more :)

Oh trust me...not too happy about coming back on a Friday, but one of my team members is out that day...

I think I will take Sept 30th - Oct 4th for GTA Online...but that still leaves me with a lot of time left. :(

This needs to be ported to PS4!!!!

He refers to how he died at the end of the article and one thing that stood out is this:

"But then I thought more closely about the moments in which I died. What did these passings have in common? It was when I hesitated, when I didn’t know where to go, and I’ve concluded that fault lies entirely with me. Admittedly, GTA V doesn’t tell you where to go, but that’s the point. You can go anywhere. I died when I lacked both imagination and conviction.

You see I’ve become awfully lazy when playing games that involve shooting and driving; I’m content to be pushed towards a mildly satisfying objective. So when I landed on the beach with Lamar, and he suddenly looked towards me for guidance, like a child who got mixed up in something he didn’t fully understand, I was overwhelmed. I could go anywhere, get away by any means I could find, but I died right there on the sand because I’ve grown acquainted to games that consistently underestimate me.
"

I feel like these previews need to be accompanied with dramatic readings.

I was constantly tilting the right analog stick to make the camera higher so i could see in front of my car.
I actually hated how you had to constantly adjust the camera while driving for it to feel good in IV. I hope they tweaked it.

I actually love swinging the camara on turns & tilting higher for a long view. I hope they manage to accommodate everyone's taste.

Boooo at all the people who said IGN would post a gameplay video

THE DREAM STILL LIVES!

Tomorrow is the day ...schedule is "???". GAMEPLAY TOMORROW OH YEAAAAAAAAH!

Oh god i'm setting myself up for disappointment...again :/

Yeah, I don't like the idea of coming back on a Friday either, but I need to conserve my days unike you;)

It doesn't mean anything will be posted tomorrow. The ???? is from now until the launch, not just tomorrow (plus it's the weekend. Hardly anything big happens on the weekend.)

Yeah I seriously don't get how that got out of QA.

Like ... you can't see in front of you without keeping the camera down. So odd. Never had to do that for SA or VC.

Maybe its hyperbole, but I feel if Rockstar has taken this approach of less hand holding, it will make for a better game.

Sounds great, except Rockstar games have been totally handholding games this gen. Even greats like Red Dead Redemption are terrible with hand holding.

There's a few parts where the game says something like "find a way to get --into some place--" like, "Find a way to get into the barn!" when McFarlane's barn is burning down. Or "Find a way to get into the camp" when you're trying to break into Dutch's camp in the hills. And in both cases, the INSTANT they say "find a way" they put a marker off to the side for you to go to showing you where to climb. The games were really idiot proof. What they should do is put the marker at the place you have to get to, and then you have to find the way.

Yeah, then he fucked off when someone called him out.

Yeah he was like oh shit, they remember.

It's funny cause after he posted, the rumor actually spread to other parts of the Internet. There was a thread on gtaforums claiming that some guy on gaf had insider info that gameplay was supposed to be on Friday.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow?

What exactly did he say? I cant see anywhere that he said gameplay video.

GUYS, this is terrible. I can't feel passion or excitement towards anything else. These past few weeks I've just been watching Netflix and playing GTA IV and Saints Row IV and browsing all of the GTA V threads on GAF. None of these activities are satisfying. I just want to be zipping around Los Santos, dammit!

Again, the schedule doesn't say something will happen tomorrow, just that someting will happen between now and launch. Hardly anything big happens on the weekend.

These fanboy posts make my day especially if they are wrong when they are talking about technical specs of the PS3. It is 2x speed drive, not 1x.

this entire thread is trying to say the PS3 is the "lead version" and yet my comment based on the factual abilities of each platform is "fanboyish"?

yes or no, the 360 allows for full game installs for every game?

yes or no, the PS3 only has partial installs,, based on the developers choice to use it or not. (of which Rockstar is mandating 8 of the 15 gigs)

sorry but, having to run a game 100% of the time, allowing for any Disc Read Errors or overheating, drive wear down and other issues that come with streaming data off a disc, isnt "lead platform" to me.

tell me how not putting the device that would cost me $150 to send it in for repairs, at risk by using it when i dont have to, is me being a fanboy. its called being smart and not using the least stable device to play my games, when i already went through almost 10 years of PS2 and first 3 years of 360 with "cant read disc" errors no matter how clean the disc is and no matter how many times i run a CD lens cleaner disc thru the drive.

i dont see anything on the PS3 box that says "60 more minutes of gameplay exclusive to PS3" both games are the same, they're developed for the lowest common denominator of either platforms hardware limitations, like every other cross-plat game, the only thing left is actual stability and choice of knowing when i sit down for a 10 hour GTA marathon i dont have to worry about anything.

i got both systems right here in front of me, playing TLOU as a matter of fact, but i use the one that allows full game installs for cross-plat games,

only thing im a fan of, is knowing when i install a game, its gonna work 100% of the time. whether 1 version has 1.5 AA vs 1.75 isnt what determines "lead platform" to me and on the same token, my XBL Gold just ran out, if the PS3 had the install option i would of been using that all along, but $50 for gold is cheaper than $150 to ship the PS3 to sony to get fixed if it broke, so ill go with the cheaper and safer bet. sorry if my financial concerns over devices that cost hundreds of dollars and trying to preserve them, come off as fanboyish.

LOL what? Why isn't this guy banned yet, hes a clear as day troll. If the PS3 benifited from a full install they'd do it, it doesn't. Rockstar is assuming xbox owners are only going to install the mandatory disc. If you want to buy it on xbox for install go ahead but do not claim its a the superior version. if ANYTHING you have a higher chance of getting RROD then your PS3 drive dying

This is why I like the 360 as well. Full installs of any game. I hate how its only partial on ps3.

My roommate said someone from his class, who apparently works at the local game store, got to play the game when it arrived at the store a couple of days ago.

I call bullshit though.
