GTA V has gone gold.

Just finished the IGN Q&A. Someone asked about the Kavinsky station and they said they haven't seen anything on it. Sucks that it was made up =[ could have been a great station.

As long as we get some sort of electronic/synth radio station, I'm happy.

It sucks that there is no metal station, though.

Pretty sure Kavinsky himself said he was in. Maybe negotiations broke down sometime afterwards.
That's what I was thinking. It was on his actual twitter from him. Surprises me that the station isn't in the game.

No metal station also surprises me. Especially after the metal station in IV.

Loving that Stealth actually will be a big element in the game. suppressed weapons. Its pretty sad im looking forward to some good stealth in a GTA game when all the normal stealth games have gone herpderpcod

Splinter Cell Blacklist is pretty damn good, I like it more than Chaos Theory.

People keep saying this (the first part...not the 2nd blasphemous part) but I still find it extremely hard to believe they made a good stealth game while focusing on action. It reminds me of everyone running around saying Dishonored and Deus Ex HR were great stealth games right after they came out.

off topic but I had to get that out. I've been seeing it too many times lately.

I cannot wait for the frantic twitch tv streams that keep popping up and going down. lol. Those were some good memories of gtaIV
Twitch TV wasn't around when GTA IV came out.

I assume you are talking about Justin.TV or something in which case that has been the case for most games.

Dude, have you played the game? It's not focused on action at all. It is a stealth game through and through. If you tried to play this like a shooter you would get slaughtered.

people were streaming themselves cracking into the PSN GTAV leak and playing those TV commercials and Rockstar was even taking those down left and right .

SR2 is A LOT better than SR IV, which is well improved over SR3 ( which I dislike)
Enough of SR though :P

Playing RDR again, I am amazed at just how many animals there are ( I ran into a pack of wolves that had like 9 to 12 of them, pretty scary) and seeing all sorts of animals like deers, rabbits, armadillos and such just all roaming around you.

Hope V can kinda make it feel like this, same with the random events.

I am referring to his GTA IV comment. Twitch wasn't around when that game came out. I don't even recall that many game streams back in 08 outside retro/WOW.

I am going to say you are really odd for holding that opinion without seemingly anything concrete supporting it.

Edit: Anyway I'll say that Splinter Cell is a better stealth game than Human Revolution and Dishonored. But I would say Dishonored is more fun overall.

I'll second this. If you have doubts that Blacklist isn't a stealth game, check out some Let's Plays. Ubi fixed the mistakes they made with Conviction and kept what made that game good. Blacklist unherpderped Splinter Cell as a stealth game. Best stealth game for me this gen. If someone thinks its focused on action, they're doing themselves a disservice and being purposely kind of ignorant

OT: I really hope there are some random events and things happening like police chases, gang shootouts, etc, that we don't have to instigate.

Maybe you should try it instead or just giving empty opinions?

And btw I do believe it's better than Chaos Theory. They manage to get the best parts out of Chaos and Conviction.

Anyway, back to GTA.

That's about all it has going for it sadly. They still don't know to design missions, side content or a fun open world city.
Well the good ones are those that are very heavily scripted, so i guess they're fun the first time around, mostly, to see what they come up with (more than the gameplay itself).
I think they found something with the powers thing, though.. hopefully they reboot and expand on it, in SR5.

I chose Nolan North as my character voice and from what I can tell they play it off as Nolan North playing himself, as opposed to a character. That's funny and actually seemed pretty clever. Other than that, I've been over their "humour" since Saints Row 2.
I don't know, their humor isn't that distant from GTA's.
They satire themselves and videogames, and GTA satires society in a broader sense, however i have to say, GTA's satire is starting to become stale, as you can only make fun of gun culture so many times.

Don't worry, I know GAF is Saints Row territory. I'll restrain my negativity to those two posts (Rockstar doesn't pay me as much as IGN I'm afraid).
Now now, don't play victim, c'mon, you know well enough i love GTA.

Nope, no real interest to either until it becomes extremely cheap and safe to buy. When it comes to stealth games I've learned I can only really trust myself.

Haha trust issues, we all have them for something.

I don't know if I'll ever buy another numbered Resident Evil...

Wait, there is a SR hate bandwagon? That makes me sad :( Totally different type of game from GTA now, but I still have room in my heart for both. SRIV was a blast to play and a nice dose of silly before the seriousness that GTAV should be.

I'll jump on the Saints Row hate bandwagon. Couldn't even get through 20 minutes in SR3. The world is so fake and uninteresting.

How can you tell that after 20 minutes? In 20 minutes you could barely beat the intro mission.

This is flat out insane, from gameplay to writing everything in SR3/4 is superior to 2. Seriously, I can't comprehend people thinking this. SR2 was fun at the time of its release but looking back (having played it in the last year) it's a pretty bad game with seriously confused writing.

This website deserves a better class of official thread, and I'm gonna give it to 'em.
I'm so excited I actually get to take part in the OT for this game. I never thought they would approve my account in time! The OT should help pass the time. I wonder what page it will get to by the time midnight launch rolls around?

My body is beyond ready.

In 20 minutes (or there about) I beat the intro mission, started the game, drove to the first mission, beat that, and realized I didn't want anything more to do with the game.

Which contradicts what I said how? I honestly can't comprehend why you'd buy a game and then only play 2 missions, nor how you could get an accurate view of "The world is so fake and uninteresting" by driving from the first mission to the second. Though I think the intro mission alone outlines that the world doesn't suffer from the dissonance seen in the majority of other open world games.

I didn't buy it, downloaded it free with PSN+, which is probably why it was so easy for me to give up. It's very easy to tell right from the get-go that the world wasn't interesting, and for me that's a big problem in an open-world game. I thought the missions themselves were pretty fun, but the game itself was just very off-putting. That's the best way I can explain it- it felt off-putting.

I'm really curious to see all the different wildlife the game has to offer. Is there any concrete info out there about how many different animal species we can expect to see?

We know of what, only 5?

-sharks
-dogs
-coyotes
-deer
-rabbits

I'm hoping there are snakes, bears and cats (domestic cats as well as cougars and bobcats, etc.)

I bet you like that whatever that thing in your avatar is too, jerk

I do, but that doesn't mean everyone likes what their avatars are. And maybe he just likes the character design, and not the game. It's just silly to use that as part of an argument

Sorry if I came off as a jerk

I think cougars were confirmed because Rockstar hates us.

HR was a great game what are you on about?

I am glad I stopped playing it when I got to shanghai tho, Waiting on the Directors Cut edition with unfucked bosses.

also.

SR2 >= SR4 > SR3 > SR1

GTAIV was sad in the pants.
GTAV is the game I was expecting after San Andreas on ps2 (9 years later....).
