Except those people want to play games that are exclusive like Uncharted, which this won't give them the ability to do.
You're talking as if they can't patch those shit if they want to.

Don't approach this product from the PSVita only angle and then it'll click.
I forgot about that...
Finally! No more crazy slow vita downloads
I doesn't matter that it's "only" the gravity slide that uses the touchscreen. If a game has touchscreen functionality, it won't work on the PS Vita TV.
Of course we still don't know what will happen if you try to start up the game. Maybe you can play the game, but can't use gravity slide. Maybe they'll let you boot up DJ Max, so you can stare at the start menu. Or does these games not bootup at all? No one knows at this point.

I really like it, but without Vita acting as a controller I'm gonna have to pass. Hopefully it gets updated.
Plus the few exclusive titles the Vita does have won't work with this. Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Wipeout, LBP, Killzone, Tearaway etc all won't work on this. The majority of Vita games probably won't work. I don't understand the point.
The ONLY value I see in this is the ability this gives you to stream PS4 games to a separate tv. This doesn't mean anything to me since I only game on one tv in the house anyway, but I see this feature having an appeal to some.
Psp had video out. They sell anything like this for PSP?
Unless this thing sells tons, developers won't patch anything. You're talking as if they can't patch those shit if they want to.
I really think they should have bundled the DS4 with this. Without it, Vita game devs can no longer rely on the fact that every owner has a touchscreen, and that will split the userbase.

Because the "need of bite sized games" is just a bullshit from nintendo fanboys to despise psp/vita hardware superiority only to deny everything when resident evil revelation, mgs 3 and others "home console" games came to the 3ds.
There is no "home" and "handheld" games distinction, only games that work(like games developed with vita/3ds in mind, whatever the genre) or not work(like some ports from a home console) on the console they run on.
Holy shit. Day one.
And I was just about to buy a Vita.
It is not rocket science. Every PSP and PSONE game on PSN will work by default. Selected games on the vita will either not use the touchscreen, or be patched for use on the Vita tv. Your list is irrelevant. Sony may (or may not) choose to patch those games to work on the DS3 controller, the list of compatible games is not out yet, so your justification that these games will not work is complete speculation at this stage.
The appeal is also easy. You get access to 1300 games on the PSN back catalogue, plus select vita games, and movie streaming capabilities for an entry price of 100 bucks. The PSN back catalogue is available for dirt cheap nowadays, and offer far more content and engagement than your typical ios or android game. The low end market does not care for the so called Vita exclusives or whatnot. They want a cheap console with a large variety of games, and they get it with this device.
Remote play functionality, that's how it competes. And it competes with a $225 lower price and with a big native HD screen.Alternatively you could just carry your system to a different TV, the PS4 probably weighs like 5 pounds. Plus I fail to see how this is competing with the Wii U, like at all...
Yeah, it's so much easier to unplug the PS4, drag it across the house, set it back up on the TV and repeat every time we want to remote play.
Silly.
Well at the rate we're going hardly any games will be 1080p. Plus it's just a bonus if you want to play on a second TV cheap.

When carrying your home console with you is so unconveniant that most people just buy a second console, you know there's someone to sell a Vita TV to.
Unless your personal WiFi is shit then an ethernet cable won't do dick for your download speeds. Vita downloads perfectly fine on my WiFi.
Then buy a Vita not this. This can't actually play Vita games outside of indies. Guess what? Those indies are also available to play on your tv with a PS3/4. If you want a Vita then the only option is to get a real Vita, not a device that's neither portable nor can it actually play most Vita games.

ObligatoryAnd so starts Sony's new line of budget consoles.

Dude. .. The list is out.
the whole purpose of it is to be on a tv, don't you prefer a real controller? any Dualsock3 or 4 is compatible

lmao...jrDev said:If all theyre bringing us Indie and freemium games, they should've dropped the price to $100 to compete with the ouya or something...what is coming out to even push the price drop besides killzone?

Where is the list? Can't find it in the OP
lmao,WHERE did I say that? While it probably won't sale that well, I think it has broad appeal and will do well. Please take fanboy bullshit somewhere else.
The problem is they'll need to buy a controller, amongst other things (PSN+).
Selling it as 'just' $100 to someone who does not have anything else belonging to the Playstation ecosystem is somewhat misleading.
Why not just buy a PS3?
