Sony, please understand: If i want a mobile device, a Samsung S4, or an Iphone 5 or an HTC One is WAY better than vita, and also, i have access to TONS of services that Vita doesnt have.

They need to be supported, so far we have only "dualshock 3" powered list of japanese focused games.

They won't do it with Gaikai on the near horizon. That's a ton of extra fabrication costs and a higher BoM to push on consumers by lumping in PS2 support when in a few years they'll be trying to use the PS2 back catalog as a reason to subscribe to their $10/month PS+ Platinum program with unlimited PS2 streaming to any Gaikai compatible device.they sell some ps2 games on psn store, if they're adding actual ps2 hardware into VitaTV, compatibility for PS2 emulator could maybe be higher so we got even more PS2 title on PSN
don't know if it's possible or not though
Well part of the beauty of this is that the more Vita cards Sony sells the cheaper they'll cost, as increased sales will drive down fabrication costs and the economy of scale effect will make Sony more content with a smaller per-unit profit margin. As much as I see the potential here, the prohibitive nature of the Vita memory cards is still a drawback.
Do those devices have the library of Sony games?Sony, please understand: If i want a mobile device, a Samsung S4, or an Iphone 5 or an HTC One is WAY better than vita, and also, i have access to TONS of services that Vita doesnt have.
So yeah, it's for the western market then you will say, but who besides a real small minority would want to play mobile games on the big TV?
I think this device is a waste of resources.
The thing is literally a Vita. If it works there, it'll work on this.
Think we can get some vita lets plays now?Very excited but Im cautious, worried about games like Gravity Rush or P4G not being compatible. More details on what games do and don't work is key.
But games?
And have you ever hooked an Android device up to a TV? The experience leaves a lot to be desired, I can assure you.
Touchscreen/touchpad/gyro/camera inputs are important in some Vita games. Some game can work fine for few hours, then at some weird puzzle you will be forever stuck. There is no way sony will give it a permission to work on VitaTV before working on solution.

VitaTV trailer starts with the guy playing Soul Sacrifice on his HDTV.
.
This thing is great and all but I just realized that we might never see a Vita with an HDMI out. SHIT!
I just wonder about the upscaling with this thing, I heard that Vita capture units output decently to monitors, but this need its own upscaling chip, sure HDTV do their own scaling but it wont help because of sub native resolution games will look bad on small and even worse on bigger sized HDTVs.

It's more of a streaming box than anything else. i think the fact it can play Vita games is more of an afterthought. As much as I see the potential here, the prohibitive nature of the Vita memory cards is still a drawback.
Your phone can remote play PS4 games?!Sony, please understand: If i want a mobile device, a Samsung S4, or an Iphone 5 or an HTC One is WAY better than vita, and also, i have access to TONS of services that Vita doesnt have.

OT: Anyone know how to control PS Vita TV if you buy the non-bundle? What if someone doesn't have a Dualshock 3 at home? Can a smartphone or tablet be used?

Great. If Soul Sacrifice is as well, despite that games touchscreen use, then I imagine theres some solution, probably patching games for use for this, and future games having support built in.
Will there be a package without the controller for us that already own a ps vita? Would be great to play Uncharted again on my 60" tv.
It is too. You have the current compatible games list in the first post.Great. If Soul Sacrifice is as well, despite that games touchscreen use, then I imagine theres some solution, probably patching games for use for this, and future games having support built in.
so... Will the games look good or crappy? Can PSVita TV run games at 1080p or so?
I... don't see the point of this XD
Vita games are way too low res to be playable on a big screen... Remote playing from a console to a console seems illogical... You get all the hurdles of non native playing, plus none of the benefits of having a mobile device you can carry around your house...
If gaikai takes off, this could be a cheap way to get Ps4/3/2/1 games, i guess...

Yeah that is my question too. Vita itself is not even 720p, so what will happen to a 1080p PS4 game, when it will be played on a TV via remote play? What will be the resolution?
