R3/L3 for touch screen
touchpad for back touch panel
Problem solved
You are not getting 5.1 surround sound through this though. You're getting stereo.I hook up my Roku through HDMI and then optical out on the monitor to my Logitech speakers.
What even?
And here I thought the 2DS announcement the other week was goofy. This is just as much, if not more so.

Will Vita TV appear in Media Create sales numbers?
If so will it be merge with Vita sale numbers?
You're certainly in the minority, then. What even?

Don't know much about Media Crate, but do they track 3DS and 3DS XL separately?
On its own.
It is a Vita, just without a screen or buttons, and connected to the Television. What it will stream is PS4 games via wireless connection.
it plays the games
Depends on what you mean by problem solved. You can probably do some mappings so that the touch controls theoretically translate to the controller, but I wouldn't see for example, the problem of wanting to play Murasaki Baby on the Vita TV as being solved in a satisfactory way by those mappings. It also doesn't solve things like Tearaway using the camera to put your face on the sun.
Curious how Media Create will track it. Vita, Vita Slim, and Vita TV?
Would it be possible to plug this into a 16:9 computer monitor through an HDMI connection?

I don't see why not

This is fucking genius, if Sony markets it well I could see it exploding.
Right. Aaaandd..... done. I didn't even know I needed it; this thing looks great! I get to try Vita games plus its super portable, and they really nailed it on the price! I'm one of the cheapest bastards I know, and I'd buy this without thinking twice.
No touch capability? Well I guess the consumer has no choice but to purchase an actual PS Vita....
there's always a method to Sony's maddness. Now find a creative way to bring back the Minidisc format Sony!!!
Both announcements are rad. Two of the coolest things coming down the pipeline. Vita TV even looks a bit more interesting than PS4 (at the moment given the PS4s shitty launch lineup). And good to see that these companies are thinking on their feet.
To who though? Hardcore gamers aren't going to like going sub-HD on their TVs... Hell, we're talking sub-subHD... below current PS360 levels. Casuals don't want a phone attached to their TV sans the phone... see Ouya. Who does that leave then?
I'm honestly confused as to who this is for. At least the 2DS was clearly targetted at children.

Any official use for the USB port yet?
Crash Bandicoot games don't work on the Vita and so that means it doesn't work on this, at least not yet.I might just buy this as my designated "I really just want to play MGS and Crash Bandicoot and have no other way to" machine.
Pretty awesome little device, though, and even better if you're already a Sony hardware owner and/or are invested in the PS ecosystem.
Haven't been reading the thread, have you? Lots of examples. Inquire within. To who though? Hardcore gamers aren't going to like going sub-HD on their TVs... Ah, I see. I know next to nothing about the Vita, so I'd have to do my research before I actually purchased anything.Crash Bandicoot games don't work on the Vita and so that means it doesn't work on this, at least not yet.
Charging the controller![]()
I just assumed they have to have one to charge the controller.
You can check the following thread for PS1 game compatibility on the Vita in NA.Ah, I see. I know next to nothing about the Vita, so I'd have to do my research before I actually purchased anything.
So this can play all digital stuff? As well as physical Vita games? This could be my PS1/PS2/Indie/PSP/Vita machine....
