What kind of LCD is it? Some LCDs can easily outclass OLED.

The first one because I already have it.
whichever model is cheaper.

Well, part of it can also be if cheaper, higher quality (at least in some regards) LCDs are now available, as the OLED may have too marginal of a gain with the disadvantages canceling out what gains there are. Certainly I don't think I'd mind if I had an LCD like the iOS devices have, though it'd be a disappointment if it were on the level of Nintendo's LCDs.Well, the logic dictates that they make the LCD version to drive Vita's prices down, to create a cheaper product for the masses. Do you *really* think they will put an LCD that can outclass OLED in that sort of situation?
Finding a used one online or importing one in from Japan.Whats the best way to get a white OLED Vita?
Well, similar happened with the PSP-1000 to 2000 but I still preferred the 2000 in several ways. 1000 just felt too bulky and the controls were shit, though the Vita-2000 still has those tiny buttons and the original did have an amazing D-Pad and sticks so I don't think I'll see the same improvement on that front.Even discounting the OLED difference, seeing how the build quality of the original PSP 1000 to 2000 indicates the cost cutting measures that Vita would likely go through, it's even more reason for me to prefer OG Vita.

the pic above is PSVITA vs PSP
Now we have to wait and see how much difference the PSVITA 1000 vs 2000 yields
Oh, no doubt there were improvements on 2000, especially the D-pad responsiveness, diagonals were damn near impossible on the PSP 1000; though luckily controls aren't really that issue with Vita. That being said, 2000 material build quality was really cheap in comparison to 1000; the complete glossy black didn't feel or look as good as the more matte finish of the original.
Pretty much, on paper OLED to LCD sounds a bit shit, but we have 7 pages on this thread of "OG Vita is better" when we really haven't seen the new screen in action....
This might provide some sort of reference given the AMOLED in the Vita is supplied by Samsung (dunno who's going to supply the LCD, though).

The video is comparing the SC-LCD version of Nexus S with the SAMOLED (Pentile) one.

Contrast, black levels and viewing angles are immediately better looking on OLED.
Sony is also making some internal changes, certainly the most controversial of which is replacing the Vitas 5 960x544 pixel OLED screen with an equivalent size and resolution LCD screen. Unfortunately as is the case with press conferences we dont have any immediate details beyond what Sony has put in the conference, but looking at the video of the announcement there appears to be some color wash-out occurring on the off-angle Vitas, which would indicate that were looking at a TN screen.
