TN LCD is a poor option for devices where viewing angles are important.
I've had a vita for over a year now and I only ever have it directly in front of my eyes... I don't think that's going to be an issue.
The "bezel" around the screen in the new model looks so horrible. No idea what they were thinking, though it may just be due to the fact that they need room for the backlight in the LCD version. Still looks ugly though.
This might provide some sort of reference given the AMOLED in the Vita is supplied by Samsung (dunno who's going to supply the LCD, though).

The video is comparing the SC-LCD version of Nexus S with the SAMOLED (Pentile) one.
At a $150 price point I'm sure folks would be much more forgiving of the LCD screen.
But it's not $150. It's still $200 right?
Has the new model Vita even been confirmed for release anywhere outside of Japan?
Wait a minute, the new PS vita is still glossy! NOOOOOOOO
Why buy any when you can get that awesome Vita set-top box?
Why buy any when you can get that awesome Vita set-top box?
Because some people actually like portable gaming?
Because I like handhelds, and playing their games the proper way.

I don't really like this. It looks like a smartphone or tablet with a controller dock.
How so?What kind of LCD is it? Some LCDs can easily outclass OLED.
Not entirely applicable to the Vita discussion as a lot of phone manufacturers tried to save battery life by using a pentile matrix subpixel arrangement which absolutely destroys text rendering. Vita uses a typical RGB arrangement. And here's some IPS CDs AMOLED pic
How so?
There are no LCDs which can match the motion resolution, black levels, and contrast ratio of OLED. They simply do not exist

The first thing we noticed was that the OLED used in the Vita seems to be a Super AMOLED Plus display, as seen in the Samsung Galaxy S2. At least, that's what it looks like when you see the screen's sub-pixels up-close.
It's not too much of a surprise to see that colours aren't reproduced accurately. The average Delta E is 5.2, whereas we consider colours to be accurate with a Delta E of 3 or lower.
source for Vita Screen
From the pic I post above, S2's white is not as white as LG Optimus's, Htc One X's, iPhone4s's
Sure , I'll google it tmr.Thing is we had a color profile change in firmware 2.60 which came out recently, the OLED vita needs to be rechecked for accuracy.
I am very curious if the new vita will perform better at ps4 remote play. If so that could be a big advantage.
Guys,
On the Vita can you install Android apps on this? I'm sure I heard you could but not entirely sure.
