Finally got caught up on Manhattan Projects, poor
Laika, off to space for five years.
I cannot wait to see what
Oppenheimer
is cooking up.

This book is good, everyone should be reading it.

Is it necessary to read Trinity War before jumping into Forever Evil? Because I don't want to buy a bunch of Justice League Dark and Justice League of America issues :(

It was a fun story but if you want to skip it this is what it was all about:
-Pandora tries to get Supes to open the box and he goes bezerk
-Shazam flies to Kahndaq to spread Black Adam's ashes and starts a JL fight
-Supes melts off Dr Lights face, or did he?!!
-Teams split up to figure out what happened
-New Atom is revealed to be a villain and she stabbed Supes in the brain with kryptonite to make him kill Dr Light
-Cyborgs cyborg body separates from what's left of Vic to become the Grid
-the Outsider reveals the box is a gateway to Earth 3, opens it and brings the Crime Syndicate to come over

The end.

So I finished Morning Glories Vol 1. I don't think I'll be back for the second volume. Nothing hooked me about it sadly.

Reading Hush now. Read 3 issues/chapters and this is much more in my wheelhouse. I love Batman and his Villains. The art is fantastic also.

After that Vol 4 of Chew I think.

Nick Spencer stories are usually a slow burn. But if the first trade didn't hook you, none of it will. You usually end up with more questions than answers, and the information you do get is still pretty confusing most of the time.

List:
Avengers #19
Captain America #11
Deadpool #16
Fearless Defenders #9
Infinity The Hunt #1
Mighty Avengers #1
X-Men #5

Batman #23.2 (The Riddler)
Detective Comics #23.2 (Harley Quinn)
Justice League #23.2 (Lobo)

Archer and Armstrong #13
Eternal Warrior #1

how quickly did we go from no DC books at 3.99/32 pgs to lots? It looked like Trinity War gave the green light and no one looked back.

If i were to guess what dc would do, it would be copy marvel and include digital codes with 3.99 books, instead we have 3.99/32 pgs and an extra dollar for the combo pack.

Jeff Parker writes good but not great stories so I'm alright with him taking over Aquaman. Johns doing Shazam and Manapul drawing something else has me super excited.

I just hope Buchaletto isn't writing whatever Manapul and he are working on. Seriously, he doesn't understand interesting writing and unique characterization.

So yay just bought my first physical comics in a store ever!

Been using comixology as there's not a store anywhere nearby, but I happened to have some business in civilization today and stopped by a store. In case you can't tell due to the low res of the screenshot: what you're seeing is Batman and Nightwing, Batman Black and White #1, The Walking Dead #113, and Detective Comics #828 (which I only bought because the cover art looked awesome, heh). Thus far I've read Batman and Nightwing, which was ; - ;

But yeah, I guess I'm a real member of comic gaf now, lol.

Brian Buccellato and Francis Manapul were a collaboration in writing. They will continue to work together.

I got that but I always thought they handled story together while Buchawhatever actually wrote the script. So, again, I'm just hoping for words that match the incredible art that Manapul puts out, which is not what happened on their Flash run.

Maybe..

Francis and I will be moving on to a NEW regular DC series that will hit stores in MARCH 2014. We can’t tell you what the series is (yet), but we are super excited about this new sandbox we get to play in!

Yay! I just started to pick up physical comics again after a year and a half hiatus (was doing it all digitally via Comixology). Now I go to my local comic store during my lunches on Wednesdays to get the latest. XD

Oh shit. Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato off The Flash, but are going to another unannounced DC title.

hmmmmmmmmmm

I guess I should do my list..

Astro City #4
X-Men #5
Red Sonja #3
Watson and Holmes #3
JLA 7.2 Killer Frost (This week's wild card pick)

I was gonna get the Harley Quinn villains' month book but I didn't care for the preview. The way they suggest that Harley became Harley is not how I imagined it. I'd be interested to read the story of how she turns bad. And not like flashback-y, but all detailed real-time like. And then the end would basically be when the transformation is complete. Because they make Harley all about the Joker, and I get that, but she wouldn't have changed so much just because of him. Something was broken in her or became broken and that's the part that interests me.

Basically, I probably just need to read Irredeemable, if I want a good guy goes bad story. (Or just write one my damn self)

There are about a million and one awesome collections and OGNs coming out this week. I would love to get the Boxers & Saints boxed set but I'll probably hold off for the time being.

Good comixology sale for DC: Final Crisis and more importantly the Tomasi/Mahnke Black Adam The Dark Age mini. Definitely get that black adam mini :O

You should really read Irredeemable when you get the chance. Did not care for the ending though.

Age of Ultron #2 got put on MU a week after #1....i like it. Now, if i were paying $2.39 or whatever an issue and having it on my pull list, it would be terrible. I have much higher tolerance for stupid the less money i pay for it. Almost nothing happened this issue to a point where its pretty clear Bendis is trolling Marvel readers to see what he can get away with while still getting their money.
Black Widow and Moon Knight walked around town a little then Spider-Man told people how he woke up from a nap into unknown chaos, then Cap stood up for the cliffhanger since issue #1's cliffhanger was showing cap sitting down defeated.
Is it even possible to spoil these first two issues?

edit: I highlighted just incase, but in the process ruined my point. That's how much i care about not spoiling things.

I ended up reading that Black Adam mini before 52, i still need to read 52....i have the trades, it's just in the neverending backlog.

Finally read through all of Age of Ultron. Man that story was lame. I'm sorry I read it. Felt like only three or four characters even mattered to the plot by the end of it.

The Superior Spider-Man tie-in was badass, though.

"Face me, Ultron. Fight me for your robotic soul."

I'd bet money on Johns doing Shazam.

Johns on Wonder Woman? Man, if the way he's written her - as in, not written her - in JL is any indication, let's not do that. I don't see him returning to Flash, Batman is good, and Superman...yeah I wouldn't mind him taking over a Superman book.

Can we get a new Teen Titans creative team, pls?

Teen Titans has been meh for the past 20 issues. It desperately needs a new team, and Red Robin needs a solo series.

Tomasi has been consistently great. That was an especially good issue.

And all it takes to be a part of ComicGAF is to like chomix. Don't matter the shape you like 'em.

Batman 23.1
What the flying FUCK did I just read/skim through?

I only just started reading comics in April last year, so I'm not entirely knowledgeable about the media yet. I only read up to the moment where Joker decided to take a darn gorilla home, he felt so out of character and he even said "booyah", really?

Please tell me I'm not the only one who thought this was terrible and couldn't bring one's self to finish it!

Your reaction was pretty much the thread consensus.
