And they shouldn't have. Ps2 is just too good to live up to. I don't blame the ps3. 600 dollars was bad but that doesn't justify constant trolling by fanboys on platform specific threads( ps fanboys on xbone thread or xbox fanboys on ps threads). But this thread is fine though given it's intent.

Xbox One: Forget Surface, and Zune, and Kin, and Windows 8. This Time, We've Got a Winner!

I know this is a joke thread poking fun at their advertisements, but let's be for real for a second...

-The Zune was the second best selling media player to the iPod within a year of
release. I would argue they killed the Zune brand to try and push Windows Phone,
which backfired hard on them.

-Windows 8, while unloved among the more critical crowd for sure, has sold well and
will probably be getting a boost post 8.1. Too be clear though, Windows 8 isn't a
terrible OS, I don't take isue with any of their design choices, everything that touch
enables is just as easy to do with a mouse. If nothing else, I am upset they consider
W8 a full release and didn't make it a W7 service pack, but they have to generate
revenue somehow.

-The Kin was a terrible failure, for sure.

-The Surface hasn't sold all that well and has been a huge loser for Microsoft, but the
hardware and design behind it is pretty awesome.

I think that instead of anyone trying to be clever or funny with their made up slogans most people in this thread are confusing it with taking a dump on Microsoft for having policies that everyone didn't agree with, even with the policies they wound up changing. We get it, it's cool to hate on Microsoft.

Edit: I guess I'm just not a fan of all the negativity in general. The PS3 has no games and even the price was annoying to me for people to harp on, the price was great for what the system was and it had plenty of games to play, especially compared to other first year software cycles for competitors. The Wii U and all of the hate it has gotten recently is undeserved for the most part too, we will see how the other two hardware companies do in their first year of software. The only hate I can see as being fully deserved is the RRoD issue, which Microsoft should be looked down upon for.

This could go on and on, but their P&L following W8 release was pretty positive iirc and in this interview in particular I think that Balmer is refering to Windows Tablet and Phone uptake being far below expectations.
