Responses like this bother me as well. Poster One complains about something and another poster is responding by doing the exact same thing poster One complained about. It can be in good fun, but more often than not it's even worse than a drive-by post, because it attacks the emotions of poster One directly.
Also, it's neither witty nor terribly funny - even if used 'ironically'. Most threads that have complaints in the OP have at least half a dozen posters that respond this way.
Only pun-age is worse.
I actually agree with you, but in an arguably failed attempt to be funny, I was hoping that particular poster would follow through on the threat of ignoring everyone who does it, only to be met with the "You can't ignore Admins/Moderators" message*, and shake their fist angrily at the monitor. In general, I agree with your point, and wasn't just trying to be combative and snarky for the sake of it.
*Before I get carried away from a lofty perch of being immune from the ignore feature, I'm sure someone out there can show me what for by showing that they either already had me on ignore from before my getting moderator status, or that they have an extension that allows ignoring mods. If that's the case, then that too makes my silly post less funny.
