New unannounced Capcom game to be shown at TGS 2013 (Itsuno involved)

Damn I forgot Itsuno made CVS2 and Rival Schools as well.

But changes of those two getting a sequel is even less likely than DMC5.

Especially when you consider that Ono has already expressed how difficult it will be for new fighting games to be greenlit with Inafune's departure.

If even SF5 will have to wait a few years (let alone if Darkstalkers truly isn't dead), I can't see how a Rival Schools will get made in Capcom's current climate. And SNK will likely be focused on their own revival/revamp if rumors about the 20th anniversary of KOF are true. So, why would they help Capcom make money when they're in it for themselves at the moment?

Yeah, the only fighter I expect from Capcom is SF5 in 2 years or so. After that, I'm sure Capcom will take another break from the genre.

Who was responsible for MvC?

What are they doing?

While not intimately involved in development. Sven was key in kicking off talks with Marvel, and helping to seal the deal. He was a big proponent internally supposedly. Gone now, of course.

I expect lots of disappointment per usual. Nothing good ever comes from them when we're expecting news.

Devil May Cry 5 from Itsuno will be fuckin' amazing news...sadly I don't see this happening so I'll go with Dragon's Dogma 2 as my prediction which will be awesome news as well since the first game was really great.

That being said the best case scenario will be DMC5 scheduled for a 2015 release with Dragon's Dogma 2 coming after that. :P

guys i have the answer:

Onimusha+Warlords.png

By team Ninja

By carefully extrapolating from their most recent behaviour, I can predict Dino Crisis 4 by the makers of Ride to Hell: Retribution

Edit: Never mind.

I thought Itsuno was doing Deep Down, but I can't find any info on the director of the game.

Unrelated note: There's apparently a DMC4 pachislot game. I've been seeing advertisements for it all over Sapporo. It's depressing.

It's one of these 3 things:

Dragon's Dogma 2
Devil May Cry 5
New IP

With Deep Down coming, I doubt they would also have DD2 in the works. New IP is a possibility but I am putting my faith in FUCKING DEVIL MAY CRY 5!!!!!

It's fucking happening folks... I BELIEVE!!!!

I knew you'd show up sooner or later.

Devil May Cry V
ergil

believe.

with the revelation that Capcom is going back to it's old ways with development

i.e:

Capcom Announces Special Loss Along With Changes In Development Practices

We can rule out the following:

Sequel to DmC
Sequel to Lost Planet 3
Sequel to Operation Raccoon City
Sequel to Dark Void

just about every overseas project has been canned (also explains why Lost Planet 3 was just thrown onto shelves with all the problems it had)

ahhh... felt so good to say that. Capcom started off with a bang this gen and then just limped home thanks to outsourcing development

back on topic.

Since it's Hideki Itsuno

it could be one of the following:

Dragon's Dogma
Devil May Cry
Capcom Vs. SNK
Powerstone
Star Gladiator
Auto Modellista

If i were to roll the dice... i would say it would be to announce a new next gen devil may cry for the following reasons:

1. Make people forget about the DmC project and breathe life back into the series
2. A new Dragon's Dogma trailer would take the wind out of Deep Down.

It's also possible that a new crossover project is announced as well... CVS3 is due now thanks to the success of KOF 13... but my bet goes to devil may cry

If they don't want to ressurrect Darkstalkers, I can't see them giving Rival Schools a chance.

Capcom vs SNK 3 would be a dream come true, but I don't know if I see them doing any more fighters atm.

I have been trying not to get excited when Capcom's about to announce something, but Itsuno could give us Dragon's Dogma 2 or DMC 5.

But it's Capcom. I just don't know how to feel right now.

Didn't Itsuno hint that Rival Schools could come back at last year's TGS?

That coupled with Ono joking about it, I don't wanna get my hopes up with current Capcom but still.

People expect DMC 5 not a sequel to DmC.That's a big difference.

It's the same thing as far as Capcom's concerned. They're both considered in the same franchise just how the new Tomb Raider is still considered an entry in the long TR franchise for SE.

Power Stone Vs Smash Bros.

Millionaire Fighting 2014 is about to begin. Hardcore fans have been eagerly anticipating this event, and now the waiting is finally over. Check your training wheels at the door, ladies and gentlemen. This is gonna be one incredible battle that won't easily be forgotten.

Not really. DmC is completely different than real DMC. If capcom is not stupid they know everyone everyone wants DMC5 back.

Like I said above...I just don't think the timing is right for CvS3. Especially if SNK is going to be focusing on its own workings relevant to KOF's 20th anniversary celebration next year. Helping Capcom make money doesn't just seem to be in their best interests when they likely will have their own game to focus on developing and marketing.

But beyond that, I agree. Though I actually think they may go cross-gen with DMC5, since Capcom likely will want to be "cost effective" with a new game as much as possible, while also making sure it can cater to a larger audience. Give the next-gen ports the kind of upgrades that DMC4's PC version had, and I'm sure they won't complain.

It's only been 9 months since DmC. Why would you expect a sequel to such a game announced so soon?

The sooner they can divert public memory away from DmC and win back hearts and minds with DMC5, the better it would likely be for Capcom's sake.

Besides, if it does up end being Dogma instead, it'd be even "worse", considering Dark Arisen came out only 5 months ago!

DMC 5 is suppossedly developed by Capcom (assuming that Itsuno's team isn't working on a Dragon's Dogma sequel) while DmC was developed by Ninja Theory.I don't see how they couldn't show something that is going to be released in 1-2 years from now?
And there's only one dev team working on Tomb Raider (Crystal Dynamics) so i don't know why you compared it to DMC...

Is there a reason to think Itsuno has been working on a sequel to a game that failed to meet expectations instead of a game Capcom is trying to launch as a new franchise (Dragon's Dogma)?

I personally don't think it's going to be a console game announcement at all. Most probably something portable or f2p related.

I don't know much about DD, but isn't Dark Arisen just a "super" version of DD1?

It's not the developer that I'm talking about. You're missing the point. No publisher ever reveals the next entry to a mega franchise less than a year after its release. Only exception I can think of is Tekken X Street Fighter but that was just to tell the world there will be a 3D version, they didn't even start development until 2-3 years after its announcement.

Well...

- Devil May Cry is one of Capcom biggest selling franchises alongside Resident Evil, Street Fighter & Mega Man
- Regardless of the Metacritic score DmC will not see a sequel due to the harm it did for the franchise

Itsuno could announce a new franchise and that would be great... but Capcom needs to address the Devil May Cry franchise ASAP... and a teaser trailer would do it.

I don't expect it to be cross gen though... by making it next gen only... this would give Capcom a clean slate to reintroduce the franchise in anyway they want while also keeping the game quality consistent.

Capcom teased Resident Evil 5 shortly after Resident Evil 4 came out.
