I pirated 360 games and MS banned me, what the hell?

- The OP was console banned from Xbox LIVE.
- The OP said that the only abnormal thing he had done recently was taking advantage of the Oman promotion, which let you download free games from the Oman store. This is not ban-worthy.
- Lots of angry people said that he had got banned for that because "it's against the ToS" (the ToS don't actually prohibit it) and that he should have sucked it up.
- His post admitting to piracy (which is indeed ban worthy) was found on another forum.
- Title change.
- The present: angry people still maintain that the Oman thing was one of the reasons that he got banned and a young man by the name of Fireblend stumbles into the thread and asks for a summary.

just like me, search in the first page of the thread the word "transfer" with your browser, he actually tells there why the account was banned, or at least gives the clue
 
It's pretty simple. The guy just omitted a bunch of information about other shady things he'd been doing that were actually grounds for a ban. No one else got banned for the oman exploit so logic says it must be for another reason.

So... you insinuated that it would be wrong if Microsoft destroyed his physical games he legitimately bought, but it's alright if they took away digital games he legitimately bought?

How is that okay? I mean, apart from the "u agreed 2 the EULA" bullshit that people love to hide behind.

They didn't take them away though, if he had backups then he can still install them. (if my understanding is right) The thing they have "banned" him from is the XBL service, which includes downloading games among a million other things.

I have an account there. I follow all sorts of Xbox matters closely because I'm paid to do it. I repair Xboxes for a living and that site comes up constantly in Google search results when looking for solutions to problems.

Seriously, if Monk were to get angry at me and say I'm not a fellow GAFfer anymore I'd probably spend my afternoon crying. I wouldn't dare show up again.

There are so many examples of threads like this out there. It's become hilariously predictable. The question is, why public rant about your banning when you know you are 100% guilty? I'll never understand that.

This guy just cannot stop lying. Now he's trying to unload a banned console on a unsuspecting person. If you don't have your word you aren't worth very much as a person.
