My friend just got his 360 banned, presumably for downloading Rayman Legends.

Doesn't seem like now is the best time to start banning people for this type of stuff with next-gen right around the cornet. I don't think MS want a lot of angry people with their only console banned going into next gen.

The friend thought they would want to be nice around the time that the new console was coming out, so the friend thought it was okay to violate the ToS and steal from them.

Is that about right?

We know how this turned out last time

The choice is getting easier...

did he "test" 50 games?

Your "friend"?

Here we go again

Is your friend's name Zumblakladla?

Using exploits to get shit is frowned upon. Who knew.

Smells like bullshit

Yes, I would imagine Microsoft is pretty worried about potentially losing all of those customers who don't pay for games.

i said in the last thread. getting banned shouldn't take away the games you already bought. i don't care if you pirated either. paying for something is paying for something. if you get banned you should still have access to every single piece of content you bought.

If his Xbox was banned, he wouldn't be online right now and I believe when MS bans an account, they also ban a console as well (that is what it seems like at least)

I got my console banned in 2010, but the account was never so much as sent a warning so it is possible to only get one or the other.

Yes, as long as doing so doesn't involve using the service you stole from.

I know it's in their TOS, but it's dumb to have this policy in the first place.

What's dumber is that they continue to mistakenly offer games for free in various regions. And then blame others for taking advantage of their continued mistakes. If that's what this is.

He did not get banned for downloading the game.He either shared it or did something else noone has gotten banned for using the country game alone.

What's done is done. The more interesting question is whether your friend is gonna buy new 360, wait for xb1, or ready to jump in to playstation camp?

You do realize its probably not why this person got banned either, just like the last guy, i'm sure there's something else involved

And I see the people that will use this thread to push their Sony agenda have arrived. Yay.
