I would love this but the patch and the port dream (at least for me) is dead.

If theorycraft patch was created I would imagine that there would be unofficial versions favored by different groups of people. I remember when old Counter Strike online buddies quit or reverted to certain versions of CS. I quit after frustrations with laggy hit boxes on CS;Source.

You can't even get a governing body for the FGC as a whole. Good luck getting people to agree on a single patch to use for Marvel.

Making it a reality would be so much work that it's hard to imagine more than one alternate version being created, so anybody who is actually interested in it would probably just play the GAF version.

You would probably have to make it so that you can play online with the patched version against other patched versions... otherwise it would never get adopted.

And yeah I doubt there would be numerous versions. Someone would take the initiative and they would create a huge patch which would be hard to replicate. Pretty much the Icefrog situation... I mean everyone was free to create their own "patched DOTA" as you may call it but hardly anyone did because Icefrog was so god damn good at it.
