Do you recognize your fellow gaffers ?

I think that's a running gag though. I don't think brethren or entire families are on gaf for real.

Sure, I remember quite a few people, although mostly from the threads that I frequent. GAF is too big for my horrible memory.

I think people recognize me as "That guy who really likes Tolkien. No, not Edmond Dantes, the other guy."

Yes, I recognize my favorite movie snobs, cumberbach fan, TDKR fanatic, Marks and pop gaffers

and a certain horse detective. I wont mention his name.

I recognize posters by their avatar. If someone changes their avatar often, I typically have no idea who they are. There are a few exceptions to this rule (folks who post regularly in the threads I'm in all the time).

Also, Log4Girlz ALWAYS makes me laugh and I recognize him wherever he posts. I mention him because he posted above me. The name makes me laugh.

Yeah, mainly the ones who have avatars I like or have opinions I can either agree or strongly disagree with. for the most part when I recognize a poster its on a positive note.

If you change your avatar all the time and don't post a tonne or have a non-unique username, you might as well be a fresh Junior.

I tend to recognise by avatars, but some unique names or people who post a lot are also recognisable. However, I don't really know any posters personally enough to really predict how they're going to post/feel about X, Y, or Z. Unless you're Derrick01 (sp?) and hate everything.

In terms of personalities, sure. There are a number of consistently great posters who I always look forward to reading, and others who are just fun or enjoyable.

Some I recognize both handle and avatar, some avatar only. Enough come through the avatar request thread that I'll often recognize random handles alone just from the time spent making their avatars, even if it has changed.

I do with some yes, some I know from lurking before I had an account and they stood out to me, and some I'm knowing more now because of the threads I normally visit.

I recognize quite a few people by username and avatar and even personality, but that's only members who frequent the same threads I frequent and I interact more with them than other members of the forum.

Edit: Heh, Hello Foxu :D!

^^^^^^^^

Also blame space, I wub wub

Sure there's a few of you I recognize. I even create fake personality and friendships with you and you don't now it!

::ooooOWEEEEEEEOooooooooo::

Yes. Fewer with avatars off on my phone; sometimes I recognize a poster by the tone or content before confirming with the name, but that doesn't happen much.

Obviously after a while people are going to begin to recognize some posters. Otherwise what would be the point of unique usernames and avatars?

Pretty much. Generally more so with Gaming side then OT. But starting to get a good feel for those in OT these days as well.

I've kept the same avatar since I registered, only changed it's appearance slightly over time, so I'm sure people have noticed my avatar by now. :lol

I usually recognize posters by their avatars; sometimes via name, but it's not as common for that to be the case. I don't usually recognize any one person's post tone and know who they are right off the bat.

I recognize quite a few posters who post regularly in OT. Not nearly as many who post mostly on the gaming side.
