Anybody know what happened to the Galactic Leader in Plantinum? Did he get stuck in Giratina zone or something?

He stayed in the Distortion World, but it was implied that he can leave the place if he wants to. Personally, I prefer the idea of him being stuck forever there.

All 52 of the new pokemon revealed thus far...

17 to go? Or is it 37? Who can say? Well, at least we get mega-evolutions to make up for it.

To a lot of people, probably not, but it's evident that GF has spent a lot of time making megas in lieu of a greater number of original Pokemon.

Yeah, that makes sense. Still, it's a shame that you can only have one Mega active in your party. That really wrecks it for me. :/
Still, Blastoise looks pretty cool with the super cannon. :D

Guys, 70 is enough. We're getting to the point now where they need to slow it down before

A. they run out of ideas and start scouring deviantart for inspiration
B. there are just TOO many Pokemon. We're already at 700. If every game added 150, it'd get way out hand real quick.

I'd much rather Gamefreak look for alternative ways to keep the series fresh (new types and Mega Evos for example). Never have I played a new Pokemon game and thought "this game could use some more monsters". There are so many other things that should take priority.

That's implying there is a quality versus quantity thing going on already. there are tons of poorly designed Pokémon or rehashes of older concepts so far. If all of them were awesome I wouldn't have any problem with less Pokémon, it's just that quality is all over the place ranging from awesome to hideous and quantity appears to be down as well.

I just woke up, why is everyone hating on Chesnaught? I think it looks awesome!

(Though, I'm definitely still in the #TeamFroakie group this gen.)

If it were 70 new and 80 mega that is still 150 new designs. If mega does not count as new (as they are based off existing species) then neither do babies or new evolutions.

I want to see Mega Aerodactyl. The dude had the Aerodactylite. He had the fossil. Why the wait?
I remember I got the Helix fossil in mount moon. It took me getting to Cinibar Island to get Omanyte form that point.

So what's everyone's opinion on Diggersby? I thought it's hilarious!

Don't worry, I'm the stalwart knight's believer.

Doesn't the fact that there are less new Pokemon and still so many shitty ones support what I'm saying, though? One day there won't be any good ideas left. I'd prefer that day to be later than sooner.

I agree with the other guy that the Mega Evos are no less important than a new evo or pre-evo, considering they're contributing new designs, typing and maybe even new moves to current lines.

That isn't how ideas work, epically with a company who can not only commission illustrators, can hire more more people to get their take on pokemon.

I hope there are pokemon breeders in this game and that they can be battled endlessly. Makes grinding up a new pokemon so much easier.

So many little things I hope are in the game that will add up to make it great.

You guys speak as though quality of design is objective.

Fuck that. Quality design and which starter is the best are both
highly contested
FACTS.

And new Pokes? Meh, there were only 100 in Johto. And all the designs so far are pretty great. I'm loving that we're getting a lot of Kanto Pokemon, and hopefully a lot of Johto too. If we don't get Hoenn Pokes it'd be telling. Although oh my god the reactions if they made a Sinnoh remake and skipped Hoenn. Truly popcorn worthy.

Thinking about grabbing Chespin and just smacking an everstone on that little bugger. Imo it's the best starter design by a landslide, but its evolutions are just meh compared to Froakie's.

Dude. There are only so many spins you can put on a strict formula. I watched a battle video the other day in which one guy had a team consisting entirely of turtles. 5 gens and just as many turtles. Two of them were starters (Torterra and Blastoise). How many grass Pokemon are just animals with leaves on their backs? We had a fire monkey in gen 4 and another fire monkey in gen 5. I mean...

Didn't they hire a new American artist last time? He did the ice cream cone. I personally like that Pokemon but I'm in the minority.

I don't wanna dig through pages of stuff, can I get a breakdown on the new leaks? I saw the starters and the new Pokemon on the chart listed above.

Someone buy Game Freak a ticket to Australia and/or a diving holiday. There are tons of animals they've missed.

So looking at the known Pokés we might get:

Flabebe evo
2nd Eevee evo
Dedenne evo
Furfrou evo
Orotto evo
Clauncher evo
Skrelp evo
Binacle evo
Hawlucha evo
Carbink evo
Noivern (pre)evo
Pseudo-Legendary line (3)
Z-Legendary

Which is about 15 to the 52 we know about, so give or take 70. Yuck.

Thats it. Unseen mega evos for luvdisc and aerodactyl and the amount of new pokemon seems to be at around 70, not much post game and not many legendaries.

I think many of those are confirmed to not have an evo like Binacle, Carbink and Hawlucha. I also don't think Furfrou will get one based on the unique styling options.

Weird, is there really no trio of legendaries besides the XYZ?

Gen V? More like Gen 4.5. Gen VI? More like Gen 4.75.

Day one though, dammit Nintendo. We did get an over 9,000 reference though, not sure how I feel about that one.

There are still other obvious options left untouched - correct me if I'm wrong, but we're still yet to see a dolphin or a fly Pokemon. When I say fly, I'm not referring to dragonfly - I just mean a common house fly. Can't think of one I've seen yet.

I know they've done a chicken with the Torchic line, but I think it'd be funny to have a grass/flying chicken, therefore having a weakness to their predators (the various fire fox Pokemon).
