Pokemon X and Y Leaks, Releases Early

I think many of those are confirmed to not have an evo like Binacle, Carbink and Hawlucha. I also don't think Furfrou will get one based on the unique styling options.

Yeah, it's a rather optimistic list. It's a shame that Mega Evolutions seem to be a big portion of the new Pokémon. Oh well.

The less legendaries, the better. It was getting out of hand after awhile.

I agree that there are way too many legendaries as it is, and I especially hate legendaries that don't even appear in the game and are only special event Pokemon. But you gotta have a trio in there. YOU GOTTA.

Xerneas, Yveltal and the trio master should be the only legendaries in Gen VI imo.

Btw, I read there is a dark-type gym leader in XY ._. I hope it people aren't lying about that

So are any Gen V Pokemon appearing in the game? I skipped Black and White and their sequels so that's a lot of new Pokemon for me to discover if they're catchable.

Theory: This is the first 3D Pokemon mainline title. A lot of people are coming back to the series to play this one after a long absence. Thus, tonnes of familiar faces, Mega-Evolutions of older characters, particularly Kanto, and not that many new Pokes.

I'm glad there's reduced legendaries, but I hope there's still "event" Pokemon, e.g. Lapras, Drifloon. Makes a change from walking around in grass to catch 'em, you know?

"Almost no post-game. You can get the Z legendary, Mewtwo with the stone of your version, the legendary birds roaming around, and I think thats it. Still havent dug through it properly yet. Only played 27 hours or so."

Are these legendary birds the ones from Kanto?

And I'm still holding out for a Battle Tower or something that he hasn't found yet.

Cannot agree more. It really got out of hand with Arceus being God almighty but still obeying some random kid trainer.

Legendary Pokemon should be mythological creatures and not deities. Also you don't need more than 7 at most (box trio, runner trio, fairy). The abundance of legendaries since Gen III completely devalued the concept.

I kinda like the idea. Make use of new and old pokemons alike, and those old ones get to be partly new to give a incentive to use them in a new way.

I'd rather have that than another batch of useless pokemons and I'm always happy when veterans get some attention.

That said X and Y always seemed rushed to me since their reveal.

There's quite a few, but the list of available Gen V pokemon is far from comprehensive

Not an unreasonable guess. I'm more of the opinion that Mega-Evolutions were more responsible, but keeping a nostalgia factor was probably relevant.

If the 70 pokemon thing is true, I'm not of the opinion that quality has improved for cutting down on the number of new pokes. I've found designs I enjoyed and those I found forgettable in every gen (yes, even gen V), so the only thing here that has changed for me is that there are probably less new pokemon in this gen. That's disappointing.

On the other hand, the distribution of older pokemon seems to have been shaken up quite a bit. Early Bagon is amazing, and a serious contender for a spot in my team.

Nope. it's still unconfirmed. The leaker was wrong and simply used Pokebeach images.

In the same thread someone described the starter evos perfectly days before we saw them 70 was also a guess with the dex number the Z legendary got. Hawlucha turned out to be true, Greninja did, water pokemon was real. I'm not expecting this to be wrong.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but regarding legendaries we'll probably get more than what is currently in the Dex, since it's the first pokemon that can't be hacked/datamined, and those will come later.

(and I'll probably never be able to get them here, haha)

That seems likely.

First gen had 5 legendaries, and I'm fine with reducing the number even more. 3 each gen from now on would make them more exclusive.

Why do they keep making 1 stage pokes like Flabebé or Dedenne which turn out to be useless after a few gyms? Not every pokemon has to be Garchomp, but at least give them something to hold on.

I agree but they won't do that, legendaries are used to promote events and other products, so they need them.
Every gen has not that many legendaries at first ingame, but since we usually get the datamined pokedex leaked at realease we always see the full 12 or so bullshit number, and we sure as hell won't escape it this time either.

I wonder what / if their is a battle frontier / subway equivalent. Would really suck if there wasn't something.

Keeping it for X2 and Y2 ! :p
Game is probably kinda rushed anyway.

"Worst Gen Ever" incoming in a few weeks.

It wouldn't be different from RS, DP and BW. First games in a generation are usually crap in regards of post-game content.

Rubbish. All Pokemon games have great post-game content. It's just the Emeralds, Platinums and B2/W2s that go absolutely crazy with it.

Huh? There's no way to decrypt 3ds data right now. So, yes, we won't know about event Pokemon from release this time.

You're forgetting Gold/Silver, motherfucking king of post-game content.

You mean where there's hardly anywhere to grind except Lv40s on Mt. Silver to train for Red?

I mean Kanto was cool and all, but original GSC was pretty barren outside of the 8 extra gyms which are pretty fast to beat.

nintendo just knocked on my door and took away my copy of pokemon y

they gave me a chesnaught plush as compensation though

currently burning it

Serious question...not that I don't mind but...what's with Game Freaks sudden Charizard wank? Ever since Gen III he's been shit in the metagame and he's been left behind ever since Bellyzard could be countered...and now all of a sudden they give him not only one, but TWO mega evolution and the new anime he's pretty much a deuteragonist?

Shit seem to come out of nowhere.

While Kanto was heavily truncated, it was still a huge surprise and had a good amount of content, including legendaries like the birds and Mewtwo. HGSS probably has the most post-game content though, from battle towers to weekly events to minigames etc. I was super disappointed with BW's postgame considering a lot of it rode on the whole Black City/White Forest thing that doesn't work well outside of Japan.

That's what I said. I meant this time we'll still get 154634 legendaries but we won't know how many until nintendo tells us.

I dunno, I prefer new Pokés over old ones and Mega Evos being limited to one per trainer makes it even worse. We'll see.

I agree that less legendaries are needed. Gen 1 and 2 had a fair amount, but since then it's gotten way too crazy, Gen 4 specifically opened the floodgates on them and had way too many.
