Pokemon X and Y Leaks, Releases Early

Most of the Pokémon who are getting mega evolutions didn't even need one. I was hoping for them to give some of the weaker guys a time in the spotlight, like Farfetch'd or something. Instead, we get freakin' Garchomp and Gengar.

R/S level supposedly. Which is...fine?

R/S had lots to explore and a Battle Tower, that's all I could possibly want.

Actually I disagree the post game in Ruby and Sapphire was bad, since all it was, catching the Lati@s, catching Rayquaza and the battle tower which had a level cap of 50.

Paid DLC = Bad
Paid Pokemon Storage = Good

Gotcha.

Not the same thing and you know it.

Does X/Y have Day/Night and seasons?

Day and night: yes, Season: I don't know.

Hey so why does Charizard have 2 different mega evolutions but the others don't?

Because Charizard needed it.

Ampharos, Absol, mawile and Abomasnow were hardly OU material.

Hoenn was when the game design picked up

- Expies
- Marginalisation of old Pokemon to make room for said expies
- Version exclusive legendaries

Huge increase in Attack and a some in Special Attack, HP and Defense. Others stay the same.

looks like we get low-leveled gym leaders again ;__;

Everyone who thinks Hoenn sucks is terminally ill. I highly suggest you go to the hospital and figure out what's wrong.

Strike 1: Starter look like ass
Strike 2: reggies look like ass
Strike 3: colors are washed out
Strike 4: water...EVERYWHERE...
Strike 5: Trumpets...EVERYWHERE...
Strike 6: Snow was actually ash
Strike 7: shitty fire type selection
Strike 8: salamence looks like a damn happy meal toy
Strike 9: rival was ass
Strike 10: going over 3 strikes.

I feel like Hoenn is where we picked up the fans who would taken Pokemon who looked like any fucking thing.

If this responses picking up, I'll do the same and declare every Mewtwo fans to be terrible!

The only thing bad about Hoenn are water, rival, and music. Otherwise it's pretty good.

GOOD MORNING

Ive been waiting since gen 3 for a grass/ghost Jack o lantern pokemon. Finally!! Also I've been liking all this love Ghost types have received this gen. Always been my favorite type that for many gens got the shaft.

Just think, we are like three or four years off from a possible Diamond/Pearl remake.

... DAY ONE

The lack of a post game is pretty worrying. When I beat BW I thought, "uh... where's the stuff to do?" HGSS had a metric ton of post game content that to completely ditch that is jarring. Looks like XY will be the same, with maybe a new route or two and a super cave with the Z legendary.

There could be some positives though. For one, if super training is all its cracked up to be, it will make training competitively a lot easier, so people who have never been into that aspect of the game can easily jump in. Also, the 3DS has much better online presence than the DS, so I could see a lot of Wifi events in the future to keep people coming back. Since the Pokebox is coming in December, I could see them releasing some occasional additional content to get people reinterested.
Didn't the postgame for B/W have battle facilities, unlock half the region and old pokes as well as the locate the seven sages? Thats a pretty damn good amount.

No defense is boosted a bit.

The 3rd gym leader having Pokemon over lv 30 is low-leveled?

Lt. Surge: Lv 24 Raichu (RS/FRLG)
Whitney: Lv 20 Miltank (GS), Lv 19 Miltank (HG/SS)
Watson: Lv 23 Magenton (RS), Lv 24 Manectric (E)
Maylene: Lv 30 Lucario (DP), Lv 32 Lucario (Pl)
Burgh: Lv 23 Leavanny (BW)

A level 32 Pokemon for a 3rd gym leader is the highest ever for a first entry game.

I like to think of the Stick (and the bone club for Cubone...though honestly Marrowak did not need it) as being early attempts at this sort of thing. But yeah competitively large swathes of the catalogue will never be usable (e.g. Beedrill) even if they are okay for single player for a short window (Beedrill base stat total is high for early on).

But my honest though on the megas is it is a shame transfers are in as I would have liked to see some evolutions like the Rhydon and Dusclops evolutions retconned into Mega forms.

But anyway they said megas were a mixed of things that needed it (sorry Farfetch'd you already got the stick) and things that are popular hence say, Gengar.

Oh and there's a difference between Physical moves and contact moves right? I think I remember that Grass Knot is a Special move despite making contact since it can activate Flame Body etc.

People really have to be negative about everything. uh?
B/W2 are fantastic games and my favorites in the series.

A gen with 70 new Pokemon is fine by me.

The Unova dex scored highest when I did a like/dislike ratio (they were all around 66%, except Hoenn which had ~30%).

A lot of the new Pokemon this gen are really great.

You know, it is possible to be very positive about the recent games and direction of the franchise while still disliking things.

Oh and there's a difference between Physical moves and contact moves right? I think I remember that Grass Knot is a Special move despite making contact since it can activate Flame Body etc.

Yup. The "touch" flag is different from the Physical/Special distinction. Earthquake is physical but doesn't touch, Grass Knot is special but touches, etc.

If there was one thing Hoenn ever did right is have a legitimately awesome Champion in Steven.

Until they royally fucked that up in Emerald.

At least he got to live on as a bonus boss :(

The one he described was B/W actually. It was a lot like Hoenn where it did add a bit to areas you already visited and had a short postgame quest involving Looker and the sages.

B2/W2 was significantly better though.

He said "unlocking half the region" though, and I don't think B/W locked out half the region before post-game like B/W2 did.

I liked gen 3; a heck of a lot better than gen 4 at least.

Shiftry
Ludicolo
Metagross
Sceptile
Blaziken
Rayquaza
Deoxys
Pelipper
Gardevoir
Breloom
Slaking
Ninjask
Hariyama
Aggron
Medicham
Camerupt
Flygon
Milotic
Dusclops

He said "unlocking half the region" though, and I don't think B/W locked out half the region before post-game like B/W2 did.

It did. The entire right side of the map wasn't accessible until the postgame. Things like Black City/White Forest, the transfer machine, Lacunosa and Undella were kept there as endgame content.

Strike 1: Starter look like ass

Opinion and not a very constructive one.

Strike 2: reggies look like ass

Again opinion and you could go the entire game without encountering the Regis

Strike 3: colors are washed out

Explain please, because the colours look fine to me.

Strike 4: water...EVERYWHERE...

Only 1/3 of the region was water.

Strike 5: Trumpets...EVERYWHERE....

It gave the region it's charm.

Strike 6: Snow was actually ash

There's no snow in the game.

Strike 7: shitty fire type selection

Better than Diamond and Pearl fire type selection

Strike 8: salamence looks like a damn happy meal toy

So don't use it, there problem solved.

Strike 9: rival was ass

Now that I agree with.

Strike 10: going over 3 strikes.

Now you're just being silly.

I feel like Hoenn is where we picked up the fans who would taken Pokemon who looked like any fucking thing.
No Gen 3 is where we got all the whiny fans who hated experimentation and change of flow. Hoenn was a nice tropical place and for once the region was discovered in a nice unique way on top of a ton of tropes being broken.
Strike 4: water...EVERYWHERE...
Strike 5: Trumpets...EVERYWHERE...
Strike 7: shitty fire type selection
Strike 9: rival was ass
Only legit complaints but I could come up with lists much worse for Johto and Sinnoh and make every tiny thing into a huge deal like you just did. Also I don't get how you can say Hoenn's color was washed out. It was incredibly beautiful and colorful given the hardware. Especially compared to the previous gens. I'd say D/P was more washed out color wise and Johto pokes mainly used pastel colors.
That's B/W2.

B/W was pretty sparse iirc.
No it wasn't. I never played B/W2
