Pokemon X and Y Leaks, Releases Early

Seems like Megas completely pushed out the "real" evolutions of old pokemon. I guess it makes sense. There's only really a few older pokemon that feel like they need another evolution, and most of those are getting megas.
Seriously, do people actually prefer pre-evolutions and baby pokemon to Mega evos? As I recall a huge number of Gen II pokemon were that, and nobody ever uses them.

And apparently
it's Dragon/Ground. If that's true, anyone who was hoping for the first Poison Legendary...your last hope is the Event Legendaries and who knows when we'll get those.

This will make me sad if true. What's with the poison hate, gamefreak? :(

Given mega evos are limited and not permanent, a lot of people don't consider them "real" pokemon.

Seems a bit disingenuous to me to not count them in the new pokemon count. They are completely new models and some of them dramatically alter the way the pokemon can be played. They are significant. I get why you wouldn't count them, but it doesn't seem completely fair.

TBH I dont mind less Legends. People did complain about there being so many last gen. Also the small new pokemon doesnt bother me as we have a huge dex this time and the megas are fine to me.

What about the Ground/Fairy mentioned by Kotaku? That hasn't been seen yet right?

There's a chance they could have misunderstood Carbink's typing.

I don't mind the lack of Pokemon, but I guess I am a little disappointed in the lack (thus far) of a new trio. Unova did have two, but still...

Like I said i'm ok with 70 pokemon but it's kind of funny to me how people are justifying their dissapointment with megas. Well i'm in the non-mega camp so i can't really say much bu,t enjoy the future of "new pokemon".

Also why would anyone want more new legendaries? Seriously ugh

My only problem with the fewer number of Pokemons is that the old ones will overshadow them. I'm in a new region, I want to see more of the new ones and less of the old ones, leave post-game for that. But then again, I'm actually fine with the number, not really a big dealbreaker or problem for me tbh.

Yeah, I mean to me they seem far more useful than baby and pre-evolution pokemon, even if they are temporary.

man i was really hoping they made another trio of some sort :/ well if this is the final number im okay with it a bit dissapointed but the stuff they added is great so ill enjoy it :P

I don't mind 70 pokemon. Look we're already at a monstrous 717 total pokemon. It's at the point where it's gotten unruly and they're going to have to trim down the number of new ones per gen before it gets out of control. Mega evolutions are a pretty good way of offsetting the lowered amount actually.

So we have our Battle Maison, we have what is apparently the most robust and accessible online system in a Pokemon game to date... what more post-game do we need to make it acceptable?

Considering the single player game seems to be the longest to date, it took leakers ages to get through it.

Let's be honest, legendaries after Gen III started sucking.
We could explain away a lot of things with such a statement .
"Let's be honest more Pokemon doesn't mean good Pokemon, look at gen V"
"Let's be honest evos and pre-evos to older Pokemon have sucked since gen II"
(Note: I do not claim to believe either of these)

It seems to me from the start that this game was meant to appeal to the older generation players more, so it makes sense that they would do that.

If next Gen didn't add any new Pokemon, I'd be fine with it.
The only legendaries would be the meltdowns.

Waiting for Skrelp2 and Clefairy typing.

Sinnoh without evolves and legends only had 79 Pokemon :)

As if the evolutions weren't one of the best parts of Gen IV...

I would be more than happy with 70 new Pokémon... if it didn't count 20 or so new evolutions on the side.

I can't believe we're going two entire generations with no new evolutions besides Sylveon. Utterly depressing.

Aw, well, I guess I can still get excited about the unrevealed Mega Evolutions...

I absolutely agree. The roster is starting to become way too bloated. There are too many Pokémon occupying the same gameplay niches (we didn't need another weak Bug/Flying, Vivillion...) and it increases the barrier for new players. I'd rather there be a focus on quality over quantity. Evolutions are one of the best ways of going about that IMO, but I think Mega Evolutions are a very healthy alternative if given to the right monsters.

I wonder if that affects DW abilities.

Main pokemon and events seem to get a lot more of the best designs. If you look at the recent trios and other "extra" legendaries, they all feel so tacked on and boring.

Hey now, the musketeers are great.
