Pokemon X and Y Leaks, Releases Early

The first generation games are obviously dated pieces of shit, but I still think they have the overall best story, music, and most importantly, Pokémon designs. Granted, that doesn't mean the other generations are bad.

The people who use "nostalgia goggles" insultingly in attempt to invalidate differing opinions are no better than hardcore genwunners.

This. I swear any idea that you prefer Gen One/ II to the new stuff and its automatically "LMAO NOSTALGIA GOGGLES HAVE BLINDED YOU TO THE BEAUTY OF GEN [blank'] SO YOUR OPINION IS INVALID"

It's damned annoying. Yeah im a "gen wunner" and yeah i definitely prefer silver/gold to everything I've seen after it until now. I enjoy my old pokemanz and some of the new ones arent entirely bad....though that ice cream cone thing still kills me.

I got an email from Best Buy saying my order is ready for pickup. It's a little ways out of the way, so in debating in whether to attempt to pick it up. I don't want to drive down there and have them realize their mistake.

Their computer will point out the error when they try to sell it to you.

Same thing happened to me with Kingdom Hearts 3D.

Been playing through Black 2 to pass the time. I forgot how good it is.

Also, I just caught up with the past 25 (!) pages of this thread that I've missed in the past couple days. That story stuff looks totally bananas!

At this point nintendo may as well release the games digitally now.....please?
Told you guys earlier that all of Europe would have X & Y this week.
European retailers could give a rat's ass about Nintendo's street date policies.

The rest of us in North America (outside of St. John's, Newfoundland... former home of the now closed Games Exchange) will have to wait until Friday at midnight.

What?! The store that leaked the games really closed down???

Team flare was defeated last night and it showed kalos from a space view and there was more than just kalos shown.. it was too fast for me to get a good look or picture but my curiosity is killing me, wish i could go back and see it.

I wonder what that 'more' could be?

Ive been playing Soulsilver. Beat the second gym and now im walking around trying to make Togepi happy so i can evolve it.... Fuck you Togepi. And ill end up doing the same thing for eevee so I can get Espeon.

This thread has gotten so huge in such a short amount of time, it's ridiculous.

Has it been confirmed if there's anything like the Battle Subway or Battle Frontier for this game? I really hope so, since the talk of practically no post-game is kind of disheartening.

Oh wow, that's just the best Gym Leader theme yet
until Hoenn remake :p
I'm so hyped right now!

You mean .. this?

Aromatisse comes across as oddly sexualised, so yeah, I agree with the dislike crew.

Same with any human-like Pokemon for me, usually.

On the topic of Aromatisse's design: There is nothing sexualized on its design. Seriously, you (and some other people) find the weirdest things to complain about certain Pokémon. It is your mind that is dirty, not the Pokémon's design. Actually, besides Lopunny who is intentionally sexualized (based on playboy bunnies), there is no such thing as "sexualized designs". This is so annoying.

I never get this kind of comment. I look at Jynx, Mr Mime, Machamp, Gardevoir, Alakazam, Gallade, Medicham, Aromatisse, etc... and I don't see nothing sexual? I mean, they have human-like body structures... so what? If it is because of hentai/porn fanarts, then every single Pokémon is sexualized, not only the bipedal/human like ones.

Have you sat down and actually looked at the design? I can't think of much else it could possibly be intended to be (actually, anything else).

Just had a first look at Aromatisse. I'd say it's borderline impossible not to see some sexualized theme going on there.

The way it sticks its leg out, the arm bent and posed at the hip, the demure look on its face, the fluffy garment reminiscent of a flapper's outfit....it's like something out of Moulin Rouge. Burlesque. It's insanely in your face IMO.

But...I think it's awesome, haha. Not complaining.

I don't think my mind is dirty. I think the design is overwhelmingly evocative of a sexually-charged inspiration (burlesque, etc)

The image I responded to however does highlight the kind of designers the team is bringing on and I think the fact that the original designers no longer work on the series is an important factor some people need to know.

This isn't true entirely though, the woman who was responsible for Pikachu and other cute Gen I Pokemon, Atsuko Nishida, is still on the crew as of Black and White...she did Chillarmy I know, they mentioned it in an interview.

Sugimori also still does Pokemon, he did Sawk and Throh and Mandibuzz. We don't have a list of who did what as far as I know, this was gathered via Japanese interviews following the release of Black and White in Nintendo Dream and Famitsu, but while they have more designers now, I'm pretty sure some of the old ones contribute. And I'm not sure why getting some fresh people in is a negative, because wouldn't that help curb the "running out of ideas!" issue?

Question - is the Tyranitar Mega-Evo a version exclusive? Any idea which version it has been confirmed in?

Sorry, its hard to keep up with this thread :D

Reila, no need to get defensive.

It's clear as day what Aromatisse is based on and to pretend otherwise is obtuse. You like that sort of thing, fair does, but not everyone does.

Chesnaught was really dissaponting. He looks nothing like a knight.

See, I'm fine if you think he looks ugly or whatever, but this is one thing I can't agree with. I think they did a great job implementing knightly features to his design.

You have to be living in denial city to think he resembles a Knight even slightly. He is a Chipmunk in an turtle shell with extendo arms. I actually like his design but it's like people where so sure he was going turn into an awesome Knight that they can't accept his design. Hence he looking really different in his fan art.

Fans of the lion don't say he looks like a Manticore and I expected Helioptile to turn into a badass Dragon instead of Batman but I accept the new designs.

Sarcastic...?

None whatsoever, I guess I'm missing something? All the music does is turn me off, it's just bland and uninteresting. There's a few gems in there like the Rival, Professor, and PokéCenter themes, but I'm not a big fan of anything else. Hoping the Team Flare-related themes will be ones I like.

I agree with him. Compared to the other Gym Battles themes, it feels kind of "empty". The intro sounds great, but I keep waiting for the "song" to start and it never does. It sounds more like a background theme for a battle facility than something that represents a fight against a Gym Leader.

THIS.

Just preordered X, and since it aint out or reviewed yet, im getting doubts about if I made a mistake..

Me and my bro dipped on a 3ds xl. On my list is monster hunter and fire emblem.

Guess mega Agonn and tyranitarr makes it better.

I've made my case before in the starter thread. Feel free to point out what you disagree with or if you think my arguments have flaws, but I seriously do think that they did a great job making him look like a knight.

I know its scaled, but the way the top connects to the body piece reminds me of a full body chainmail.

http://www.medievalweaponinfo.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/chainmail.jpg

Medieval helmets usually have nose guards.

Honestly, the white part is probably part of the body, but I can pretty easily make out why he looks like what he does. Full body chainmail, and a sort of backplate/shield/cape which also helps brings the whole chestnut motif to the final stage, really ties the whole knight motif for me.

The arms are still weirdly elongated.

If the SMT + FE credit is still in place, I'd definitely recommend that.

The reviews are pretty good! When a review pulls away from the pack like that though (70) I wonder if it's overly harsh or accurate.. guess I'll find out when my copy arrives :D

Just means they are the opinions of those who like it on a lower scale. Those generally even out with those who like it to a greater extent than most.

He is a Chipmunk with armor on. I don't know if you wanted to be hit in the face with it, lance & gape "Gallantmon" style, but he looks nightly enough to me. Far more than Greninja looks like a fucking Ninja.
