I usually come up with nicknames as I catch, but I've already got my heart set on Gidget the Froakie, and Esteban the Sun Pattern Vivillon.

What's wrong is that you can't chose your pattern. I think it is cool to have different pokemon "skins" as long as all of them can be found in every game - or some forms are X/Y exclusive. But a region exclusive is quite unfair.

OK; for us we probably would be able to trade with gaffers from all around the world. But what about children? They obviously won't have contacts in other regions and wouldn't be able to communicate in a foreign language to trade even if they wanted to.

Mega Evolution doesn't take up a turn. You can Mega + Attack in one turn.

So we've heard:

- Stealth Rock nerfed/damaged capped
- Auto Weather limited to 5 turns
- Blizzard, Thunder, Fire Blast, all lose 10BP and go from 120 to 110.
- Frost Breath goes from 40BP to 60BP

According to Smogon's testing, weather auto-inducers restore weather when they come back in (same as always). Not only that, but if the weather inducer is holding a rock it extends it to 10 turns.

GF just made it so you have to make some trade offs to get the weather you want.

I never used any of the auto weahter pokes before so I didn't think of them always changing the weather. But mega charizard y can't hold a heat rock and a megastone, right? Why GF why! Seems like I might go back to plan Ninetales :/

Oh, I wanted a polar pattern, instead I'm getting the cheap knock off. It should have been the same for everyone above the polar circle... But region specific versions is awesome, I think it really gives a boost to trading as one of the main ideas of pokemon. I hope this will applay to more pokemon in the future.

It will reactivate every time they switch in. Charizard Y, specifically, won't be affected by heat rock, because he'll be holding a mega-stone. I'm not sure about the abilities in general, though.

I was personally expecting an accuracy nerf on fire blast (to bring it in line with thunder and blizzard) but a power nerf on all three...ouch.

Also if you have some psychic pokemon like Alakazam who are fucking geniuses, why haven't they gone ahead and figured out some way to completely counter humanity's only weapon against pokemon, the pokeball?

Pokedex descriptions are a mix of urban myths and tend to slightly exaggerated. The perfume 'mon having smell scenes 10^5 stronger than humans is a good example.

In the case of the Abra line though. It is a symbiotic relationship. They need humans to trade them to reach that final form.

Team Y kills everything, so no one wins. (Except X, when we are eternally reborn.)

I interpreted as being like the spirit bomb in Dragon Ball Z. Goku didn't kill everyone on the planet when using one of those but technically did take their life energy.

Urgh, that explains why I got the ugly ass Garden pattern when Vivillon levelled up rather than the Polar pattern. Tundra is going to be near impossible to obtain, unless just changing your 3DS region will let you obtain a different one. Also means I'll never be able to own a Polar or Tundra Vivillion that I can nickname myself.

Actually from what a gather if they send you an egg of their patterned Vivillion it SHOULD turn into that pattern when it evolves. I'm not 100% sure but they were testing that on vp.

Hopefully so, that'd be a nice touch if true. If not I can see some of the patterns being a real pain to obtain if you want a full pokedex.
