What's the most angry you've ever seen someone at a game?

I had a friend who, after losing at Mario Kart Double Dash to a blue shell, stormed outside, got in his car, threw it into reverse and slammed into a parked car across the street. Cost him $1200 in repairs.

And you?

Holy shit. I still have a hard time understanding why people can get so angry when they lose at a game, especially if there's no significant amount of money involved.

I broke the bottom half of a screen door playing a fighting game by kicking it open after getting a RROD since it was a baaaad day. Good thing, too, because now my door is awesome. :3

Gaf on any day

My brother used to always get so pissed off whenever I beat him in any competitive game like Street Fighter. He was never actually mad at me though, he just got so frustrated at himself for not being able to physically pull of what he is thinking in his head. It was always so goddamn annoying. There would be times when I had to walk out of the room because it was so juvenile. I never understood it.

In EverQuest I was skyping with a friend who screamed and shouted because we happened to die while plvling his twink. It was pretty lame considering EQ has practically no death penalty anymore.

Some dude got wrecked at the arcade on Initial D and punched the coin machine. He allegedly shattered his hand and broke his arm in 3 or 4 spots. I was playing HOTD4 when it happened.

I don't know if it was true but someone told me it cost him over 30 thousand dollars.

DoTA- Here in our country, we usually bet money on DoTA. Not online but pub games in internet cafes. The amount of street fights, insults and screaming is amazing. Sometimes even the insults can get personal.

Best I've ever seen. A guy broke up with his GF for interrupting their game.

Does getting pissed off at internet service for cutting out in the middle of a game count? Because I can admittedly get pretty frighteningly irrational when that happens.

I've had two friends who were ragers.

The first time I witnessed it was when I was in middle school and I was playing madden against my friend. He beat me then we rematched. It was tied going in to the final minutes and I made a crazy play to win the game and he cussed and then punch a hole in his wall. I laughed for a second then just sat in awkward silence thinking what the f just happened. Did he really just get that mad?

The other time was my first year of college with this other guy I met. We'd play halo 3 in his dorm all the time. When he'd get outplayed he'd start yelling and eventually he'd throw his controller and he broke a couple of them. He'd even smash his guitar hero controllers for messing up. But I'd just laugh it him.

I never get mad when playing games. I get frustrated but never mad. But ragers are the funniest thing to witness

I wrecked a bunch of friends in SoulCalibur one night. One guy came in for one match, got his shit handed to him, then immediately walked outside to "meditate" to redirect his frustration.

I once kicked my PC's power button to turn it off after losing a game in StarCraft once. I've never played the game again since then.

lol, this made me feel better about the angriest I've been at a game. I've never even broken a controller. Most I've done is punch something and my hand hurt for a few days.

I'll swear if I get frustrated, but that is literally it.

People who throw controllers... I'd maybe be worried about them if you're throwing and breaking controllers

My friend's little brother threw a chair at another friend's head after losing in either Mario Kart 64 or Goldeneye, can't remember which.

I bit my controller after one particularly angering death in Lost Levels (Mario All-Stars) for SNES when I was a kid. I still have the controller with the teeth marks as evidence of that moment.

Yep.

Me playing Counter-Strike with a cheap first generation Logitech optical mouse. Every time it decided that I moved it too quickly it would freak out and spin me all over the place.

...it can't hurt anyone anymore.

Beat a 5th grader when I was in 2th grade in Connect 4 24 times in a row.

He smashed the little thing that holds the disks at the bottom on my head.

But it was sweet.

I imagine your friend backed into a banana peel then spun into the parked car across the street.

Worst case of video game anger I've personally seen is from my brother breaking the LCD screen of his Gameboy via headbutt.

So Fighting Games Thread? I swear, there's no rage like Fighter rage.
The most angry I've ever seen someone is my friend when we were playing Marvel vs Capcom 2. He got so mad he actually snapped the controller in half. Guess that's Mahvel for ya.

my brother and I used to get mad and crazy at modern warfare 1-COD4 and throw the controller on the ground a lot, poor thing.

the controller eventually broke and we realized we were idiots. now we just yell at the tv :P

Four Kings on one of my earlier Dark Souls playthroughs. I would get into a ritual of saying "nonononononononononononono" and shoving my head into a pillow, then going in circles around my swivel chair.

Don't judge me ; ~ ;

i had a friend who would get so mad at quake 3 arena, it was pretty fun. too bad that pre smart phone age, his anger uploaded to youtube wouldve got a million hits

I do remember one of my friends getting so mad at Donkey Kong 64 he threw his controller out the window. It landed on grass so it was fine but it was a huge "holy shit dude" moment.

The angriest I've ever been was probably God Hard on vanquish made me rip out my controller while it was charging and it snapped the usb mini tip off the charging cable. That or losing a starcraft 2 match online because of reasons i predicted before the match even started and I tried to make sure they wouldn't happen as best as I could be it didn't matter. So I just screamed at the top of my lungs while alt-f4ing out, navigating to the install directory, moving it on to an empty external throwing it in there and formatting the drive and then I threw the external into the trash
(it was sort of faulty to begin with so I was gonna throw it away anyways)

edit: I forgot about the time I got fed up with kirby tilt and tumble and smashed the GBA against my forehead, which absolutely destroyed the display.

I don't know about that, I've been playing Fighting Games all my life and it's always been about self-discipline, people who raged were mocked.

My wife when she loses to me.
...
Which is why I usually let her win >.>

No, but seriously, she can beat me fairly regularly at Tetris, so that's good.

I once threw my 3DS around the room when I lost the final Tag Team match in Dead or Alive: Dimensions while the remaining enemy had 1% health left. Only threw it into various pillows though, it doesn't even have a scratch.

My friend's little brother once wrecked their only Dualshock2 controller. Five minutes before I arrived. Kingdom Hearts was just released and already waiting... *cries*

SF2 Hyper (SNES version) - broken glass coffee table and bottlecap embedded in my knuckle

N64 Wave Race - the reverse ice course - knee sized/shaped hole in drywall

My youngest bro would slam his controller when losing in a match of Halo 3. That's it. Mostly due to him dying when he shouldn't have. Him and I were better than the majority of players and when he would get beat because of his own mistake, he would semi slam a controller every now and then.

A friend of mine got punched in the face by a guy in a local arcade because he lost a King of Fighters match against him.

His BF appeared a few hours later and beat that guy to a pulp (BF is a body builder).

The result of the anger is much better than the rage itself. When I was young, my older brother angrily stood up when the dog laughed at him in Duck Hunt. He stood up so fast and without restraint that he slammed his forehead into our entertainment stand (yeah he was sitting that close), split his head open, and had to get eight stitches. Classic gamer rage.

Hmm..i guess this counts

Well i "almost" cried and had a fit when my girlfriend wouldnt let me play the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time game she bought me for my upcoming bday on my N64 console before by Birthday (i was 24 then). I begged her and begged her and she refused to let me have it and open it up a few days before my birthday so i had a pissy fit and almost cried out of pure anger lol

AC3 SPOILER
Chasing Charles Lee on the last mission.
So fucking infuriating, I beat my controller against a table until the rumble broke.
