What's the most angry you've ever seen someone at a game?

Wow, I always thought this was just a movie cliché...

Not at all - I once put a hole in the wall with almost no force, and without even being angry. I was trying to quickly change direction (hallway and living room were parallel so I was rounding the corner of the hallway into the living room) and pushed off the wall to do it. My hand went through the wall.

I beat a guy several times in WoW. Not duels or anything, just battlegrounds, but we kept facing each other.

He got so mad he came online on my server and threatened to kill me, and said that I'll never dare give my phone number to him.
So I did.
And he called. 3 AM in the middle of the night.
He was from Denmark, was 30-something and had bought the character on eBay. He had been told he would be able to beat everyone with it and it didn't work so he was so mad. He kind of broke down during our talk and wanted us to be friends. I reported him. Dunno what happened with him afterwards.

When i was in dorms, i had a roommate who had his tv setup on top of the nightstand to play halo 3.

Every night, he'd scream swear, followed by a thump kicking against the wall.

I went over to inspect and he'd kick the night stand, tube-tv wobbling on top. Always enough of it never fall over, but just wobble on top.

That made my occasional tossing of the controller pale in comparison.

I had a guy grab my controller and throw it down, cutting me with his disgusting, hoary nails in the process because I was beating him at a wrestling game on the Nintendo 64.

This was a grown man, and he was working for InQuest (a game magazine) at the time. That magazine was overstaffed with manbabies who either couldn't handle losing in any form or else tried to make everything into a competition. It was genuinely creepy.

Angriest I've ever got was punching a pillow. To be fair, I was trying to get a unique weapon on Chaos Mode on Dynasty Warriors 3.

Stupid Sun Quan and his archers.

As a young lad I used to bite the SNES wire until it had to be taped to work, throw the controller against the wall, hit myself with the controller in the head and occasionally punch myself in the head.

I turned out decent.

My boyfriend turned his PS3 off mid-match in a P4A lobby with me (not against me, though) and some other PersonaGAF people.

I bit my GBA SP once when I was a kid while particularly upset. Not my proudest moment.

I don't even...in most houses here in Germany even the room-seperating walls are a good 10-12cm thick and not made of a material you could just push through.

Maybe that's why you could barely buy a flat fot the amount of money which would give you a house in a similar area over in the US...

Ocarina of Time, Water Temple, no guide, back in 1998/99.

By far, the angriest I've ever been with a game. Nothing comes close to that, for me.
To be fair, I was a lot more hot headed when I was younger.

My friend would get so mad at TFC. One day he knocked over his slushie onto his keyboard and in an effort to play it off like he wasn't mad, he poured the entire giant styrofoam cup directly onto the keyboard. And laughed like it was a joke.

This thread is ridiculous and scary at the same time.

Video games, if anything, relax me. If something is too hard, I usually just laugh and say 'wow that was hard'.

I also completed F-ZeroGX 100%, so, I should just note that.

I know a lot of people said League of Legends, in ranked especially.

I'm pretty new to actually playing it have been playing co-op vs AI, and in one game, 3 people just dropped out and it's me and one other guy (who clearly is more experienced), and he's raging at me because our side is dying. I tell him kindly I'm new, but he still keeps swearing and saying it'd be better if I was not playing at all since all I'm doing is feeding the other side (AI, mind you!).

I just told him to have fun by himself and left.

Great game, and to be honest everyone else I've met have been great, but geez, cool off dude, it's beginners playing against the computer.

BTW, first post here, though I've been a super long lurker for years and years here!

Sounds like typical MOBA player attitude right there, I've long questioned if there's some aspect of the genre that makes its players act like idiots.

I was playing with a buddy over LIVE in a match of Modern Warfare 2, he was a couple kills away from a nuke and he got shot in the back and he just lost his shit. He punched his controller until his hand started bleeding.

I just bang my keyboard and desk a lot, nothing outrageous but I do it quite often lol. I know a friend who punched through his wall after something happened in CS.

Myself playing every Assassins Creed game, those damn controls and missions. I ussually hit my desk with my fists and curse at the developers.

So way back in the day i had a buddy who lived across the street from me named Anders who had a super nintendo. I was a genesis guy so i would go try the greener grass every other day and have a blast with it. Pilotwings, FF, Street fighters... all good times.

Then dude buys that off road racing game. You know... Gold driver, blue driver, red driver and the devil himself... Grey driver.

I have never seen a human being display such malice... such hate... such unmitigated rage as my friend Anders as Grey overtakes him again and again. Full turbos, full car upgrades, memorized the laps like the back of our hand and that automaton still managed to beast on us at every turn. I'm laughing... enjoying the fun of it all. Anders cut about 10 years of his life off via elevated BP. I stopped hanging out quite so much after that....

After losing to a boss in DOA 4 for the millionth time, I ejected the disk, threw it in the air, and swatted it, tennis style. It collided with a door knob and shattered into bunch of pieces. Fuck that game.

You should leave if all you do is feeding. Join another game and get carried.

Does getting pissed off at internet service for cutting out in the middle of a game count? Because I can admittedly get pretty frighteningly irrational when that happens.

Man, don't use our internet then. On PS3, it usually can't go longer than 4 minutes without logging me out of Playstation Network.

Halo 2 proximity comms were never pretty, I've been angry enough to turn the original Xbox off but when being trash talked too but that's it. Still I do wish proximity comms came back in fps shooters - brings in new level of competitiveness and helps get the blood boiling on both sides.

I'm a pretty sore loser. I think I've broken three 360 controllers by slamming them into things (although in my defense the 360 controller's build quality sucks). Once I even broke a couch. Let's just say I was pretty surprised when it happened.

Wow, you weren't kidding. Welcome, even though your account predates mine!
Seriously. I was just a twinkle in GAF's eye back then.

Suppose I'll give another Mario Kart story. One of my roommates in college named Matt was god-tier at Double Dash. Rarely lost. Other than that, he was an idiot.

One day, we decided to have some fun and secretly use a Gameshark disc cheat that allowed this one guy on the floor who sucked to enable the star at any time.

The first couple races we played it cool, having him only get the star a couple times which seemed normal since he was near the back anyway. Then, we had him get it on nearly every item box until Matt lost 3 races in a row

He got so angry at losing that he threw the controller at a fishbowl sitting on top of the mini fridge in our room, shattering the glass and spilling nasty fish water all over my other roommate's pillow.

Luckily, the fish survived.

My younger brother gets pretty pissed off when playing almost all kind of games; however, in my younger days, I had more violent, but sporadic, burts of fury, and broke some controllers. I must add that I tended to punch the walls instead of throwing the controllers (because controllers are expensive...)

Despite all, I never rage quit a game. The most I do is surrender early (in Age of Empires 2, and games that allow it).

Wow, you were fully licensed to freak out however you saw fit. More importantly - did you pull it off? I used to get completely lost in there WITH a guide. I can't even imagine.

My friend who turns beet red when simply talking about MInecraft, which he hates with a passion so much that he once went on record seriously equating it to the Holocaust (and later got mad when I actually quoted him like I said I would and recanted it as "obvious hyperbole").
