What's the most angry you've ever seen someone at a game?

Like I say in every thread of these, I punched a whole through my desk because of K&L 1. I never bothered getting a new desk.

I had a friend who, after losing at Mario Kart Double Dash to a blue shell, stormed outside, got in his car, threw it into reverse and slammed into a parked car across the street. Cost him $1200 in repairs.

And you?

WTF.
The worst I've seen (and do myself sometimes) is curse, never thrown a controller before I don't think I've seen someone do it out of rage before.

Lil cousin lost his shit while playing a dbz game on his ps2. He tried to knock the tv down but gave up because he tierd quickly.

my friend lost a game at a brawl tournament and whipped his controller on the ground and proceeded to kick it about 10 times while yelling profanities

it was on youtube but I can't find it =(

It was probably me. In college I threw my DS Lite across the room after losing for the 47th time at the last level in Ouendan. Like a full-on baseball pitch. It's a long fucking song and my time is valuable. It snapped in half at the hinge and I had to buy a new one. Bottom screen still worked though!

But nowadays it's usually just cursing. I curse all the way through Mario games. My wife always asks me why I play since it sounds like I'm having such a lousy time of it. I always tell her I'm having a shit load of fun... it just gets intense. But when I start slamming the controller down on the couch is when you know I'm getting mad.

I didn't see it. I saw the aftermath though. Friend was playing cod. Smashed his tv. I can't stand angry gamers. I accept the fact I am horrible at them and laugh at people who take it way to serious.

Your friend deserves some kind of award for disproportionate reactions.

When I was a kid, I busted my original pea soup Gameboy while losing to the genie boss in Link's Awakening.

Game of D&D me and a friend ran a while back in the rec center on Campus. One of the players ended up raging so hard at one point that we honestly were ready to physically restrain the guy due to the fact he was almost getting violent.

I think the saltiest I ever got was back in the day a buddy of mine had a SNES DBZ game...I wanna say Super Budoten 2, and at the point where I was like "oh, I'm really getting the hang of this game!" my friend said "Oh yeah? Let's play" then picked Broly and double perfected me. I fucking cried into my controller I was so mad, lol.

Im terrible at games outside of fighting/jrpgs so the first time I played metal gear(which I love) I got a huge headache almost gave up 1 hour in. I have never really raged at a game though.

Have a cousin that lost playing Double Dribble years ago so bad, he threw the game out the top floor window of a house.

me in the ps1 era, still have the footage but it will never be put on the internet.

tekken 2 i believe it was, i was using jun and my friend (still friend) was using lee? white haired dude, all he did was spam constantly this cheap ass kic that goes mid high low, and i just could not get through it.

he laughed one to many times.. i picked up the mitsibishi wooden grained tv (24 i think) and slammed it off his knees then picked it up and smashed it through the ps1 (was on floor) ripped my pad out took it out side and smashed it off the tarmac on the road, at which 3 neighbours drinking on there lawn started laughing at my rage (the rage in my family is well known)

was this point i threatened to kill 1 of them who ran in his house (i was roughly 16 they was 20ish) and just as i went to attack the other 2 my injured friend and my mate filming (stopped at this point) had to hold me down and calm me.

when the 3 guy went inside my friends got me inside, but not before i vented on the garage door.. which funnily enough i'm painting this weekend and STILL has the dents of that day..

oooo and then there was this time a friend split my head open with a house brick.. both of us were bed ridden for a week.

good times :)

It's been a very long time since I genuinely got mad at a game. I remember FlatOut making me shout verbal abuse at the screen. I'm a pretty passive gamer for the most part.

But Dota 2 came along. Oh man, no words for how enraged I can get at people's incompetence in that game. Because it relies on pure teamwork and communication, if you lack those in a game, you're in for 50 minutes of slow agonizing pain. I have to only play with my friends/colleagues so I don't random with Russians or 'BRs' who intentionally pick US servers and ruin the game by spamming the ping like mad people and refuse to communicate unless it's insults. Or anytime a team quits after diving hard and feeding, or anytime a team doesn't wait for a pause. You gotta report em.

You could easily lose some friends in that game, it's super stressful sometimes when shit goes wrong and you start blaming each other. But when you do well and stomp hard, oh how it is the best of games.

My friend Jim once got so angry playing Blast Corps on the N64 that he ripped the cartridge out of the system (without turning it off) and threw the cartridge out of his bedroom window into the garden and never went out and got it.

Years later we would look out the window and marvel that the cartridge was still there.

He also once broke a PS2 dualshock 2 in two with his bare hands - Jim was not a particularly meaty chap and this was performed therefore out of strength of will - real mind over matter stuff.

Imagine being about to win first place at Mario Kart when you are attacked by a Blue Shell.

And a Red Shell.

And a Star.

And Bowser's innate fatass mass.

And then finally crossing the finish line, a couple feet away, in dead last.

Many similes between Mario Kart's AI and Karl Marx where made that day.

I shot that Red Shell, and it was worth it for that reaction.

Very loud noises and swearing. Probably shouldn't watch at work.
For context, this was after they had been playing all night and they had failed this level several times.

In real life, I don't see people get genuinely angry at video games. I do know some people who whine and give up when the game gets too hard.

There are many people that can attest to how angry I get at single player games with particularly difficult objectives. The Crazy Box incident is probably the one that's most remembered among friends. Lots of shouting and a Dreamcast controller that was spiked so hard it cracked the PCB inside and doesn't work properly now.

Edit: I also played Sentinel pretty spammy one day and got sent hatemail with full-on capslock fury but I guess I didn't actually "see" that person.

Full fist through a wall after a bullshit loss to the CPU's St Louis Rams in NFL Gameday 97...at my parents house. Sorry Mom :(

I've never screamed, but I feel this burning black mass in my chest whenever I get really competitive and lose.

I've had it so bad once in a Mario Strikers match that I had to throw up.

My friend conceded a goal in the last minute in FIFA online, calmly walked to the door with the controller in hand and proceeded to throw it in a river

I rarely get visibly mad at video games but I did a fair bit of controller throwing during Dark Souls. I made it through Demon's without getting mad once though.

I've seen someone actually go on ranting how he hated FFX-2 for not having a male lead and how the whole game is playing barbie dressup. Funniest thing ever but he was genuinely mad.

My friend used to literally turn into a totally different person when we played League of Legends with him. Seriously one of of the nicest guys and then he just turns into the biggest dick or used to when he plays LoL. He's not like that anymore though, fortunately. He's learned to calm down. Never seen him get like that over any game though.

Myself as a kid, screaming and crying, every time my uncle would obliterate me at Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter on Genesis or SNES.

Growing up, my brother was always a bit of a sore loser when it came to playing games together despite wanting to do so all the time. One afternoon he wanted to play Zone of the Enders multi and I decided to oblige him. I then proceeded to go 9-1 against him. After the tenth round he slammed his controller down, got up, walked over the the couch where I was laying down, looked me straight in the eye and slammed the heel of his foot right into my crotch.

Remember that episode of King of the Hill in which Bobby learns to kick everybody in the nuts? I felt like Hank for the rest of the day.

Kicked a hole in my bedroom wall because of Modern Warfare 2. Was pretty embarrassed after that when I realized how childish I was getting on. Was cursing really loudly all the time too. It was so pathetic I ever reacted that way. I learned to just drop the game, turn it off, move on to something else and step away. Now I don't get angry at games so much anymore and know how to deal with my emotions rather than acting like a maniac.

My friend was playing DBZ Budakai 3 on his old CRT TV, and was getting so fucking pissed at the turtling computer (basically cheating) that he punched the TV so hard that it blew the vacuum tube out the back of the TV, essentially killing it.

I got so mad once in SSBM that I tried to smash my foot on the Gamecube... but I put the corner of the console right into my fucking heel. I got punched in the head really hard too for doing a spam attack on someone in the same game.

Another friend got so mad at GRID, he basically punched his monitor off his desk.

I used to take my Dualshock 3s and smash them into my keyboard/desk if I fucked up badly in NHL games.

I probably got a lot more stories...

My favorite was watching my brother rage while playing SSFIV on the 3DS. He got so mad after losing online that he ripped the cart of his 3DS and chucked it. It bounced off three walls before making a rest on the ground. I picked it up for him

He was 30 at the time

Got super pissed at Star Fox 64 and did a spinning back kick into my dresser. Broke a drawer in half while my step brother watched in shocked silence. Told my parents I tripped and fell head first into the drawer and broke it in half...rofl.

Holy shit. Please elaborate.
Oh, well, the guy apparently spent a lot of quarters trying to beat a little kid who mastered Kabal and his rushing spin move (don't know the name) combo into uppercut and sweep patterns. When he had enough, he just up and rocked the machine back and forth until he slammed it in the floor. He ran off before the arcade attendant could come around to do anything and everyone within sight stopped what they were playing and laughing about the rage this dude had.

With goldeneye(n64) I was having a sleep over with school friends and my best friend that I knew for ages, well after one of my school friend beat my best friend at goldeneye he hit him and made him cry, my parents gave me the choice to send him home or let him stay.....
I sent him home.

recently my friend smashed his tv and has been banned from XBL because of COD:MW3, and hes in his mid 20's.
