Pokemon X and Y SPOILER Discussion Thread

Well, I don't know cartridge sizes, but, for comparison, Shin Megami Tensei IV is 14,334 blocks, Animal Crossing: New Leaf is 6,000, and Super Mario 3D Land is 2,318 blocks.

I looked it up and Pokemon X/Y is about 14k Blocks. Sorry for my lack of remembering correctly, was pretty far off haha.

So, have Joe and the others stopped their Mega Stone hunt for the day? Just curious if we might expect any more Mega Evolutions anytime soon. :)

The stone for whichever Kanto starter is strong against what you choose is buyable from a guy in the evolution stone shop in Lumiose for about 100k

All I heard was Evolution stone shop.

Does that mean I can just fucking buy Thunder/Water/Fire/Etc stones? Because screw them in B/W2. Screw them so hard.

There's already a shop that we've seen where you can buy fire/water/grass stones. Don't know about others, maybe they unlock over time.

2 questions:

1, What is the Hall of Fame like? Do they save the Pokemon you entered the Elite 4 with?

2. Can you change the game's language on a save file once you've already started?

2. IIRC, the official site said that you cannot. Bummer, I know.

Alright, thanks for checking on that for me. Just trying to get my memory card ready in preparation (16GB one, but out of space even with a couple of games deleted off of it, just haven't had the chance to get a bigger one yet)

Guess I'm stuck with Japanese then. OH WELL.

Yeah I'm trying to get a good swath of B2's 'Dex filled out a bit before Pokemon Bank/Y, but of course it'd take forever to actually get any of the stones.

How much memory do these blocks equate?

I am wondering if I had an XL with 4GB in it if I could fit both this and Animal Crossing. Seems like I'd have around half?

Is that new Fairy weather?

WTF that all happened so fast, I couldn't even tell.

I'm surprised how poor his knowledge of the type chart is, considering he's an expert speedrunner for these games.
Why would you expect him to be an expert of a type they added just this gen?

The entire type chart has been rejigged this gen too, I'm sure it's more of a throw off than anything. I would be double checking everything too.

All the extra immunities various types have now makes things more complicated as well.

MScizor looks alright. After MHeracross, I got a little worried.

thanks, and yeah that's a bit of a letdown

The real question--which is something that I just thought to worry about--is if we can change languages in a new game. I'd hope so, since I'd like to play through it first in Japanese and then switch to English in a new game in December.

I'm just gonna have it in Japanese since I need to work on those skills anyway.

日本語をれんしゅうしよう!

1. Mega Scizor
2. Mega Pinsir
3. Mega Heracross

Exp. Share is probably the best addition to the game, grinding is the only thing that ever held me back from loving pokemon now that I'm much shorter on time.
