The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Mod Discussion and News [Creation Kit released]

So, I can't get my ENB to work anymore. I've tried both the wrapper and the injector method and it seems to load fine. I can see the prompt and shift + enter brings up the debug menu. But, there is zero effect on the image. None of the menu options work.

bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 is set in skyrimprefs.ini.

I was able to use the boris default ENB a while back but I was looking into preset config since it looked terrible.What am I missing? Could mods prevent ENB from doing anything?

Some more troubleshooting:

Some more troubleshooting:

Look in the enblocal.ini and check to see if usedefferedrendering is set to true.

If it is, go ingame and press shift+f12 see if that works.

Lol, there's grass in the sky. Noticed it in the Soul Cairn too, but only in the arena where you fight Durnehviir.
 
Any tips for using dat grass with vurt's summer flora overhaul?
Not really anyting to worry about except maybe which one to install 1st. Im pretty sure dat grasses author says to install after vurts. I wonder what happens when you install it with vurts expanded plugin?
 
I want to play Skyrim at 3760x1600 and or 4k resolutions but for some reason my game doesn't like any resolutions above 3k. I can play for a little while then when it comes to loading it will load forever and i have to alt tab and for close the game. :( I wonder if there are any ini tweaks to help remedy this. I play at ugrids 7 as well, i might have to lower that and see if it helps.
 
I game on a laptop, so I can't handle any of these beautification mods, but I've recently installed Frostfall, Hunterborn, RND, Cloaks, Winter is Coming, Immersive Armors and SkyRe and I'm astounded at how different the game is. Really incredible to get back into. Started a whole new character and trying a significantly different build than my other one helps too, I suppose. I love how with SkyRe unarmed combat is a legitimate option.

But one mod is vexing me a bit. I installed M.D. Wolfe's Market Fix, and it seems all it does is make shit way more expensive and you don't get nearly as much back. Any reason I should keep using this? I understand it makes really nice loot a lot more difficult to just buy, but some of these prices are absurd.

Also, with SkyRe and the Uncapper, how do I edit the amount of perks I gain in a level? I tried messing with the Uncapper.ini, but nothing I enter seems to stick.
 
I have to try this mod out, just to take some screenshots, because of my enb and ugrids at 7 I'm running my gpu hard nearing 4g in use. I'll see how it goes tonight :)

I don't know if it fixes instability with custom ugrids and the newest DLC. I had to switch from 9 all the way down to 5 to stop the constant CTDs, but the mod looks promising.

I switched back to ugrids 5, too, for stability reasons. But that looks amazing. Next-gen openworld gaming, right there.

Heh, the guy is now working in making Daggerfall run natively on Windows. Good timing, with the Anthology coming out soon.

Switching back to 5 was painful, I need to find something to make up for that. Maybe someone's cooked up an LOD mod somewhere.

Only bad thing about high ugdrids is that when the cells load it also loads scripted events when the player isn't anywhere near them. Like that Swornbrothers attacking that giant when you first get to Whiterun.

Correct me if I am wrong. But I when I got the giant attack spot the swornbrothers had already killed the giant and started bitching why I didn't help them.

I haven't really noticed a difference. Mods like Enhanced Distant Terrain 1 and 2 and High Quality LOD's help a lot.

The only thing that bugs me are trees popping in and out of detail right in front of your face. It's a hideous effect. I installed an improved tree LOD that kinda helped, but the effect is still there.
 
Completely ruins the sense of scale for me. Skyrim wasn't designed to have this sort of draw distance.

I think he means that since Skyrim is supposed to be an entire country spanning thousands of miles across it does kind of kill the immersion when you notice how small the map is (relative to the size it should be IRL) and how close the citys are.

To be fair, every time you can see Solitude from somewhere up high I'm reminded of how small it actually is. 16 square kilometers is big... But not country-big.

I think Bethesda themselves describe the games as a "condensed" version of the worlds they build in their lore. It's why the Imperial City felt a lot bigger when it was being described in 'The Infernal City'.

The only change is that I'm now running the Catalyst BF4 Beta drivers, could it be ENB related?

EDIT: I can confirm it doesn't happen without a ENB .dll, I see if I can fix this somehow :/

What you're seeing is the debug mode for rendering SSAO etc... try deleting/refreshing your inis and rendererinfo.txt.

Thanks for the help and fast reply! :) Well that's interesting... :o Now I wonder how exactly that happened because I found the culprit, it was the OSD of MSI Afterburner that interfered with the game, after disabling it everything is as it should be again :D
 
Ok, this is the second time I've modded this game to hell. I was very careful. Took a few hours to download exactly what I wanted, reviewed over everything, used Nexus Mod Manager, BOSS, and the load order is fine, I see no conflicts. I get to Whiterun, eventually enter Belethor's General Goods shop, exit the main door, and Skyrim just closes. No error message, nothing. Then I can't load my game. I'm stuck on the infinite loading screen. Pain in the ass.

Long shot, but try putting SkyUI dead last in your load order. That solved a lot of issues I had with the game (heck, my game wouldn't even launch without it being last).

I just wish I knew if it was a certain mod or the load order causing this issue. This time I saved before entering Whiterun. I tested the loading, and at least I can load the game this time. I should also mention before starting this game I deleted my old saves completely, I verified the integrity of the cache, and moved SkyUI to the end of the load order. If anyone knows what the problem could be I'm open for any suggestions.

Have you got any mods that change breezehome. If you do try disabling that.

Nah. I didn't add any buildings or change any homes or anything like that. I posted my mod list above. Last time this happened I just uninstalled the game but I'm determined to find out why it's doing this. I was very careful about what mods, took me hours to download, I made sure nothing conflicted. Try consoling your way into Whiterun after making a save. If that works, reload and try entering the manual way again.

What do you mean? As of right now I can load the game but I can't enter Whiterun at all. It does that infinite loading thing. But I saved right before entering Whiterun so I can still load the game. My initial problem was whenever I entered Belethor's General Goods shop in Whiterun, I would exit out the main door then Skyrim would just close, just exit, no message, nothing. After that I couldn't reload any of my saves, the infinite loading thing again. Someone above suggested I move SkyUI to the end of the load order so it loads last. I did that and now I can't get into Whiterun. TESVEdit isn't showing me any problems. Nothing highlighted or anything, and I've never used that program before a few days ago so maybe I'm not reading it right but from what I can tell nothing is wrong. I remember having a problem not being able to leave Solstheim after finishing Dragonborn. The game would just get into an infinite load after I tried. Ultimately I had to use console commands to travel back to Skyrim (in this case, Whiterun). Then, when I reloaded my save at the Raven Rock docks, I could travel back.

So maybe try consoling yourself into Whiterun using console commands, and see if that works. It might, it might not, I'm not sure.

And if the SkyUI thing I mentioned doesn't work, just put it back where it came from. No need to further complicate your game's loading process.

Edit: Nope. I teleported to Dragonsreach and exited and it got stuck in the infinite load again.

I'm mostly interested in the DOF/blur. Can the amount and focus be configured somehow? Or is it situation dependent? I remember the flower shot from the sharpshooter ENB and was floored when I first saw it.

Once ingame .press SHIFT + ENTER.
a menu will pop up where you can toggle all effects (bloom .AO etc..) on and off.

Also it allows you to tweak all effects from bloom to sun glare intesity to your liking .
 
Any Skyrim experienced mod users still about and mind giving me some advice? I'm having some trouble getting some mods to work while others seem to be working fine. For example, Skyui is broken. When loading up a game it keeps giving me the same error message even though I already did what it said should fix it (error 4 btw). Then when in game the Skyui seems to be active, but it takes several seconds to open the inventory for items and for spells. Further, the MCM is there, but is perpetually empty. I haven't gotten into the game at all really to check if everything else is broken, but it seemed like the animation replacers didn't work, nor did the flora overhaul (or at least the starting area didn't look at all changed).
 
So, I did a quick google search, and I can see that this is a long-time problem, but I was unable to find a solution to it.

I've recently started periodically getting this Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error. At first, I thought one of the mods I was messing with was at fault, but it would seem that the root of the problem actually lies with Dawnguard.

I've already had all of the unofficial patches installed in their appropriate load order 'n everything. Has this ever been addressed?

Do you have a favorites menu mod installed? I think SkyUI might conflict with that in its later iterations, since it adds a version of its own.

As for the MCM, there should be a console command to make it check for mods. Check the Nexus page for it, it's on there somewhere.
