I think what he is asking is where people are getting the resolutions he sees people quoting online - not asking for a list of the resolutions because he doesn't know.

That said. Just friggin' tell us the resolutions of games you think are being misrepresented. You would think he would want to clear up misconceptions and not spread them with vague questions and statements like these on twitter.

The problem is the rumors are regarding games such as BF4 and WD with the PS4 being significantly higher resolution than the XB1 version. The reason these rumors are spreading is because developers are essentially saying this, they are being coy about officially announcing anything but we do have vague statements such as "currently it's 720" or "lower than 1080p" or "aiming to increase this" a lot of the multiplatform games are being rather coy with the details but implying the PS4 version will be higher resolution.

Penello can find these resolutions rather easily, at least for the XB1 versions, but it may not be good to post these as they may be as the Dev's are implying, The way He has posted on Twitter brings a element of doubt to the rumors without actually denying them.

It follows most of his comments on power, no surprise to see Gies weighing in, If he has hours of Direct feed footage, he'll be able to find out uite easily the native resolution of PS4 games and if they were not 1080p and he was a real journalist, he would post a article about it.

Can't happen with internet detectives calling out DF if the case was a noticeable difference between boxes.

Calling out DF leads to nothing, just look at how Richard Leadbutter was spinning for Microsoft earlier this year. Someone pointed this out earlier, DF has written a staggering amount of articles on Xbone compared to 3 or 4 articles on PS4. They also dismissed Final Fantasy XIII's technical advantage on PS3 back in the day. That just shows you a glimpse of the future.

His main goal is to make sure hardcore gamers buy Xbone. All this negativity about 1.1 TFlop GPU must be gravitating people towards PS4. I am guessing they have Digital Foundry in their pocket and they could ask them to spin some more at launch.

This type of tweet tells me exactly that!

Also people will see that multiplatform games at launch are most likely gonna be the same resolution on both consoles. I think he's trying to make that point. Cause why else would he tweet something so stupid when their exclusives are mostly sub 1080.

The third parties are too silent. We haven't really seen many EA or Ubisoft titles running on either machines (except for Ass Creed and Watch Dogs). It could go either way at this point IMO, MS can force parity since they have the $$$.

I was going to post it, but that article also confirms 1080p for killer instinct and Ryse, which are 720p and 900p respectively, I would not consider it to be due diligence.

I imagine it would be 1080p but...glaring problems, any second opinions on if it should go in the list or not?

We have resolution differences between PS3 and 360 games this generation. They were slight but they existed and console developers and PR still threw around the word parity. Nothing will stop them from doing the same this time around just with bigger differences in resolution. The dumb masses wont know the difference. The people who actually care will. I would have to think playing on an XB1 for years and then playing on PS4 would be akin to someone with slightly poor eyesight putting on glasses for the first time if those gifs a few page back are a real indication.

DICE said it's not 720 but not 1080 and is aiming for parity on both. At the Eurogamer Expo it was confirmed to be running at 720p on X1 but DICE is working to up the rez by release.

I tend to play at lower than 1080p as it suits my eyes and I don't notice a giant difference like that when I switch (on pc) it just all gets too small for me to use.

yes. neither of those driving games looks amazing though. i'm sure both will improve their offerings in time though and the ps4 will of course have the improved offerings with it's additional power.

Easy. They were planning on releasing a product that's not 1080p-ready. Oh, wait, that's right, per Major Nelson (I think it was him) it's 4K ready.

If you can't get enough umph for 1080p, you're good to go for 4k gaming.

He inadvertently confirmed multiplatform parity in regards to resolution the moment he asked for the list. That was the whole point

So outside of this list, no confirmed resolutions for the Xbox One versions?

Also didn't DICE say BF4 was 900p on both? I saw articles referencing both.

BF4 was confirmed to be 720p on XB1 at the time but on PS4 it was confirmed as "below 1080p" and "above 720p" which is why it isn't on the list.

Regarding parity, I'll wait to see it on the comparisons, and then buy Killzone.

EDIT: So are you going to confirm 900p on Xbone? or will you leave it vague, hinting at parity without actually stating it so if it is not parity, then you never technically lied to us?
