So its the hip-hop equivalent of Math Rock? Technically proficient but a mess to listen to.

I wouldnt say it is a mess to listen to, but you can tell the people who took time to digest the track after multiple spins and the people who just have listened once or twice.

Even if you still dont like it, you should be able to appreicate the wealth of techincal skill involved.

I take seven [kids] from [Columbine], stand 'em all in line
Add an AK-47, a revolver, a nine
A MAC-11 and it oughta solve the problem of mine

The bracketed words are censored even in the explicit version of MMLP

Off of I'm Back

Wasn't there a part in Kim that was censored too in the explicit version?

Is there a way to get the uncensored version?

I am hardly a hip-hop critic, or a rap critic, but I think this song is incredible. I think people who are criticizing the beat are missing the point -- this is not about production, this is about pure rapping, flow and rhymes. This is like...a six-minute version of a rap-battle on street corner; he's trying to annihilate his competition...no one is listening for the beat. I think there are rappers who can distinguish themselves with the beats they bring to the table, and then there are others who can distinguish themselves with a technical skillset. And from a pure rapping standpoint, Eminem's got that in spades.

My friends are raving over this track. Posting it all over FB calling Em the GOAT rapper.

I liked it, one of better recent songs for sure.

It appears that Rap God broke RapGenius.

Everybody's looking for those lyrics

Ha it actually did, wow (saw a tweet confirming it).

I like this track, but also I don't. I don't like the chorus. The verses are better, but I still prefer the way he used to rap. After the first listen this morning I went straight to some of his older material.

The production is shit though. Bring back 90s production.

Listening more and more to this and he is just killing it. I want to hear what other respected rappers in the game (right now and retired per se) think about this track.

Some of those Rap Genius annotations are reaching hard for meaning and references. I think all the references to the younger rappers are correctly noted though.

Rap god? You telling me the asshole who used racial lyrics to shit on blacks is a god of the music genre blacks created? I take great offense to this thread especially when compared to people like rakim and canibus Em isn't that great.

Laugh all you want friend, truth is truth. Em ain't close to the best and it disgusts me that people, especially blacks consider him the best. I understand why white boys say he's the best, because he's white. Lyrically what type of art does Em put out? Someone show me lyrically what he has created that's clever? I think a lot of people get caught up in the beats of his songs without actually listening to what dude is saying because so far I haven't been impressed one bit.

His lyrics on Renegade stand as my all time favorite rap verses. What makes a rapper the best to you? And what the hell is wrong if a black person thinks he's the best. I'm white and I think Lauryn Hill is a damn fine vocalist.

I'm white and I love many black rappers (jeez, look at my nickname), but no one can beat Eminem at his best.

No one.

Yea but Lauryn never made a song dissing whites did she? I have a problem with Em's racial songs shitting on blacks.

Edit:
And let me guess, that was a long time ago and I should forget it. I'm sure Em loves blacks now and those racial songs were just a mistake right?

Im not even a huge Eminem fan but Lyricially he has put out some of the most memorable verses in hiphop. Hate on the silly voices, antics and general weirdness all you want, but in pure techincial skill Eminem has always been one of the top 5 rappers of all time. The dude is a walking rap nerd.

Get the hell out of here with that crap. It's easy to insult someone but proving them wrong seems to be a lot of people's issue when discussing.

One song... that wasn't even a song.. made when he was like 15 or 16 years old... after getting dumped. The whole thing was a stupid kid venting in a stupid way. You're free to harbor a grudge over it and take offense to the thread (which is named after the title of the song) if you'd like. You're wasting nobody's energy but your own my dude.

I've pretty much been listening to this song all day. I enjoyed it right off the bat, but the more I listen the more impressed I become...god damn. RapGod is trending on twitter right now too.

So he loves blacks right? Em is in the game because he cares for the art and not the money right? I understand that's the name of the song but to say that is slap in every real black person's face who loves rap and hiphop. Dude a fraud straight up. You know his album was named Infinite because he was riding the dick of Canibus who always raps about infinity yet he never wanted to give dude props. Dude fact, simple as that.
