He was at one point... but really... he isn't anymore
Yep.
He was at one point... but really... he isn't anymore
I'm not aware of any fallout Em has had with D12, but I've listened to a lot of D12 and there are lots of lines of gratitude pointed Em's way from the members.
But none of the rappers quoted have had issues with Em though.
So you're dismissing all of those rappers (Rakim, Tech, Scarface, Jay...) because they don't fit your opinion? Were those guys also paid off by the hype machine?
Like, come on, man. Stop playing me.
When did Canibus work start? And what battles was he in? There was talk about him freestyling with Wu Tang.. but I never heard a tape of him doing any battles or anything like that before then. Did he do some radio appearances that I missed? Keep in mind that up and coming dudes material rarely reached further than the local cities and states they were from unless they had a deal of some kind. Sure you'd hear ABOUT people but unless they were getting play on some shit like The Wake Up Show which focused on underground talent and was a nationally syndicated show or you knew somebody that would get tapes from someone out of state.. you weren't going to hear about them. Not unless they were clicked up with someone signed and getting features.
Who the fuck are these?
I bet they will never rap like Eminem did in his newest single.
Rap god? You telling me the asshole who used racial lyrics to shit on blacks is a god of the music genre blacks created? I take great offense to this thread especially when compared to people like rakim and canibus Em isn't that great.
:lol
Yet he just happens to be the most talented in the business by accident.
I had to log in when I saw this. Canibus??? You lost me there. Now Rakim s a true lyricist, and Eminem is a real lyricist... But Canibus??? Lol
Why does race have to be in this at all? Jummy Hendrix is one of the rock and roll gods?.. But you don't see many people screaming cuz he is black.. It's all about talent not skin color
Yet you listen to Em, who has a style similar to those guys as far as concepts and use of metaphors. I'm not shitting on white guys but I find it funny that a lot of white guys became fans of hiphop once Em came out, and now he's a rap god, man please.
canibus had done work with the lost boys before or during 95 and also making radio appearances. Infinity was always a thing you would hear in canibus' songs and it's ironic Em's first album was called Infinite. During 97-98 Em use to come to canibus' recording studio, canibus mentions it in Air Strike I believe.
You must not be familiar with canibus' work or you're an idiot.I had to log in when I saw this. Canibus??? You lost me there. Now Rakim s a true lyricist, and Eminem is a real lyricist... But Canibus??? Lol

I'm very familiar with canibus' history, but if you mean Eminem and bis hung out together at the studio.that's not truecanibus had done work with the lost boys before or during 95 and also making radio appearances. His yelling flow its garbage, this guy was better on drugs, he didnt yell like a fool and actually had a vibe to his rhymes, now he just yelling.
What is this? oO He's good, maybe even top tier, but calling a semi has-been who released 2 good albums and only 1 great album the most talented in the business is just moronic.
Oo
His yelling flow its garbage, this guy was better on drugs, he didnt yell like a fool and actually had a vibe to his rhymes, now he just yelling.
And people like him don't change, regardless of age so please miss me with that naive talk.
I'm very familiar with canibus' history, but if you mean Eminem and bis hung out together at the studio.that's not true
Try listening to the song.
Speaking of being naive...
What I'm gonna type isn't for the purpose of taking anything away from Em but there needs to be an understanding here, more or less a cultural understanding.
Em is a great MC no doubt and it's true that everyone has their opinion. Some people actually think Lil Wayne is a good rapper so I understand this is all opinionated. What I have noticed growing up is when white guys do something equal what to what a black guy does, like rap or basketball, that white guy will get far more praise than needed for doing the exact same thing as the black guy. Since people view things like rap or certain sports as a "black" thing, it's no surprise that people over react to someone who's non-black accomplishing the same level of skill as another black person. See Em has the skill equal to some of the top tier rappers yet people over react to his skill and say he's the best when he isn't close. If Em never made those racist tapes, and racist never change, then I don't think I would have such a strong stance on the guy. But it's my awareness that helps me see past what most can't.
What does slavery have to do with my post? I don't hate anyone. But I do hate misconceptions.Do you hate white people because some of us enslaved some of your people in the past?
Who knows .. maybe I'm related to a slave owner.
I must be racist.
Eminem came (and probably still gets a lot of ideas) from intense hatred and anger. Just because he said some racist shit to make some sort of impact / "oh damn did that white boy really say that" doesn't mean he IS a racist. I'm sure a lot of blacks treated him like SHIT when he was trying to make it and he lashed out however he could. Maybe you can have a 1 on 1 talk with him someday on his true racial feelings instead of making all these assumptions based on shit he made to try make a name for himself (when he was literally nothing) years ago.
Eminem says himself .....
''The tape they played today was something I made out of anger, stupidity and frustration when I was a teenager,'' Eminem said. ''I'd just broken up with my girlfriend, who was African-American, and I reacted like the angry, stupid kid I was. I hope people will take it for the foolishness that it was, not for what somebody is trying to make it into today.''
Let it go man.
What does slavery have to do with my post? I don't hate anyone. But I do hate misconceptions.
I think you have a misconception on Eminem.
I wouldn't damn someone for all eternity for shit they said out of anger / hate when they were a teenager.
Has he said any racist shit since this one Foolish Pride song he did?
Damn you proved I was naive with your insightful reply.
Thank you sir!

Funny, because something prevents you from seeing past what most can.

Dude he said nigga in that pride song, that's the deal breaker. If he was honest to the art then you would think he'd understand the implications of that word towards blacks yet he still used it. I don't care about that bs PR statement he made because people tend to show their true selves in moments of anger. If you care for the art known as rap, yet you don't understand the struggle blacks went through with N word then there's a problem. I love Vinnie Paz and I see him as a brother like anyone that looks like me because in his music he talks about black history and refers to blacks as the Moors and I respect that he understand black culture outside of what's put on TV for everyone's entertainment. Em hasn't given shit to the originators of the art and it sickens me that only canibus calls him out on that while others don't say shit because they don't want compromise their position.
My god. Forget it. Forget you. Jesus.
One white guy calls someone a nigger 20 years ago and it's game over.
30000000000 rappers say nigger daily and its kosher. Derogatory term should be derogatory no matter who says it.

Get the hell out of here with that shit. Blacks turned lemons (N word) to lemonade (term of endearment) now everyone wants to use it while knowing jack shit about blacks other than what the TV shows so don't fucking tell me about what blacks say.
If you are referring to Foolish Pride, you are incorrect.
You really think people wouldn't find it weird and maybe even outrageous if he started saying it? Maybe they wouldn't if he used it from the beginning of his career. For all intents and purposes, Eminem IS black.
He could say nigga in every new song he'll come out with and the rap community would not bat an eye. He's just taken that seriously.
If any white person should have the privilege of saying that word, it's Em.
foolish pride isn't the only racist song by Em

I would say people in the US are maybe the most mixed of any country in the world. But white Americans don't have a particular look compared to their European cousins at all. Usually Americans will be fatter but other than that, you couldn't tell a German from a white guy from Colorado. I date a girl whose mom was French and day was American Italian and she looked like a normal white chick.
Your pants all in a bunch over something some 16 year old little shit said.
Get over it. Kids say dumb shit.
He's fucking 40 now and has done more for "the game" and underprivileged people than a lot of other rap gods.
I'm done responding to you. You're as ignorant as you claim Eminem to be.
