I continue to assert there's no chance Boner actually has the balls to go into default to prove an illusory point about Obama and/or Health Care.
It actually makes insane troll logic sense - the only point in doing this is a symbolic point, there's no purpose in dragging it out to the point at which there are actual long-term consequences, but there's also no point in ending when there aren't.

You aren't saying anything of substance, just making conclusory statements the implications of which aren't even clear. I want you to explain the implications of China selling its US Treasuries in operational terms. So:

Think of who is running this charge. People waving confederate flags, against a black president. They literally cannot take having a black person be in charge of the country but not having any scandals(in their terms of scandals, not the liberal scandals of spying on us citizens, drones, or anything of rational thought).
Their end game is impeaching President Obama.
The only long term consequences Boehner cares about is his job security. And believe it or not his job as speaker is probably more secure if we go into default than if he folds and allows the senate bill on the floor for a vote.

If the House really does nothing tonight, and the Senate isn't allowed to fast-track their bill by Cruz, then we've pretty much run out of time to finish anything by Thursday. Not that the world will end Thursday, but we will enter an unprecedented time of uncertainty. Hang on.
I really hope they do this because it's the one thing that might get Americans to remember this debacle when midterms roll around.

Boehner is a giant asshole, sure, but I also don't think he's actually an insane supervillain. That's the left-wing equivalent of "Obama is a Kenyan Muslim."
The GOP already absorbed the PR hit from doing this in the first place; there isn't any purpose in ending it before they actually have to do it.
