NBA 2k14 Next Gen : OMG Trailer

Sorry if this was asked already but is there a specific reason why the PC version doesn't look like this when it easily can. In fact it probably could have been looking this good for a few years now. Is it just to help drive sales of the new console or some kinda of superior version deal 2K has with Sony or Microsoft.

2k doesn't care about making quality ports for the PC.

They've been bare-bones, least possible amount of effort port jobs for the past 3 or 4 years and that's not going to change now.

The PC will probably get the PS4/X1 port of 2k15 though.

imagine what MLB The Show for PS4 will look like?

I only wish someone else had the UFC and various boxing licenses.

Can't wait to get this for the PS4. Looks so good. Does anyone know if it's 60fps/1080p?
Every time I watch it I think about how amazing NFL2K14 would have been with the outside environments. I guess it's in the hands of the NFL and the NFLPA. Is there any possibility EA doesn't want to pay for the exclusive license again?

i'm looking forward to that eventual port upgrade....i really dislike buying sports games on consoles nowadays as the yearly additions generally add...next to nothing. so much nicer to have a pc version where you can easily download a roster update the next season complete with everyone's in game pictures and such. i'm not buying this shit every single year just so i can get rookies added in :/. the only mode i need is a competent franchise mode..

shit nba 2k13 on pc i've got charlotte as the hornets and about 30 jerseys for every team which i'm sure is only included with some overpriced DLC in the console versions

No.

EA and the NFL/NFLPA are very happy with their deal and barring something dramatic happening, I would expect them to reup again next year.

Unfortunate for gamers, but that's where we're at.

Wow that was like seeing Fight Night Round 3 or Gears of War for the first time. The first time I was excited for the next gen from a visual stand point.

In the Air Tonight should be the song for every game trailer.

I would hope so considering they'll eventually HAVE to switch the PC over or give up on it entirely which I don't think will happen. The PC version has always been an afterthought to them and the main appeal is the cheaper price and modding but I'd happily pay for a real port. Remember how the console versions got the new lighting system but they never bothered putting it on PC? Along with some of the modes and an absolutely horrendous MP on PC, it's hard to understand why they bother but the gameplay is just too damn good and they probably learn something from the modders and I'm sure they have through the sweat mods, atmosphere mods, accurate rosters, physics mods (mostly makes the rim and net better), etc.

This will be the first year in a long time where I get the console version thanks to this trailer and knowing how limited modding on the PC version can only take you so far even though it's incredibly awesome to have all sorts of different leagues, more accurate arenas, uniforms, and even a good recreation of the TNT presentation.

Here's some pictures of the PC version with custom cyberfaces, global, etc. and you can see just how good the next-gen version looks in comparison. I figured I'd throw in a custom Kyrie Irving just to compare to the inevitable Live comparison. Modders vs. EA Sports. :D

Agreed. I just hyped me up even for genre of games I barely play. So good!

If there were a 2k football game at launch... I'd buy that shit so hard. I might actually pick this up, need something for the ps4 now that watch dogs is gone.

I uploaded the Gamersyde video, and uploaded it back to youtube with a more fitting soundtrack. I like Phil Collins and all, but bad choice of music IMO easy way out.

Won't play for me.

edit - finally got it to play. Nah, that song is cool and all, but it doesn't fit as well with the scenes as they progress like the Phil Collins song.

The piano stuff works fairly well in the opening stuff, but the song lacks the same impact later on when all the action is happening on the court.

I don't know man. I'm just so sick of hip hop on every single basketball trailer, and that kind of is what strikes me as odd about your post, saying that playing something that ISN'T hip hop is the "easy way out".

Traded in my PS3 tonight and put down the final money on my PS4 and preordered this bad boy. Had no intentions of buying it but wow, cant pass this up.

Kobe still doesn't look like Kobe!
I felt a lot of the faces were slightly off. The overall package is definitely better except most of the animations involving the mouth and eyes, those still remain lifeless. And is it just me or does it look like all the players have overly large cheeks, as if they had a mouthful of something?

This is probably a bit nitpicky but those were immediately noticeable to me.

Damn, were getting to the hyperbole stage.

Yes that looks nice, waaaay nice, but it looks like a way nice CG movie, not the real world.

To be fair even that screenshot that was posted is pretty compressed. The actual game is much crisper.

But yeah, it's not real life yet.

There's this moment at 1:07 when LeBron's shorts, on the right side, bunch up as a result of the momentum of his jump.

SO GOOD
