from what I'm seeing when they show the main character, I think he's being deceptively coy about the in engine part, time will tell.

Ryse looking this good at launch just furthers that Remedy isn't bullshitting about Quantum Break being the real deal in my mind. Can't wait to see what that game looks like O_O

How are they being "deceptively coy" when the whole time they have been bragging about gameplay and cutscene fidelity being identical? Hell they've been practically shouting it from the rooftops since they started showing this game off.
So you have the developers telling you its 100% in engine on the Xbox one and you call them out as lying. Nice.
I want an RPG in Cryengine.
Wait a second. Are the hairs in his helmet moving?

Because holy shit if true

One is in development actually! It's called Lichdom

I followed everything, but you haven't follow what's happened over the last ten years, on both sides of the fence.
Anyway, this discussion is for another topic.
Massive improvement, the eyes look so much better and gives more life to the faces. Also i am glad to see Cryteck trying another genre other than FPS. Seems like a fairly solid effort for their first try.
Oh god...I can only imagine.
I wonder what Halo will look like.

Thanks for the good laugh though junior, very amusing.
you' re back
In engine from a lot of games last gen had quite a few cute caveats, I'm not expecting too much different this gen, it looks like a superclean cutscene to me..if the roman's running around in the next singleplayer reveal look as good as what we're seeing in these cutscenes, I'm not afraid to eat my words with a plate of crow.
Thanks for the good laugh though junior, very amusing.

You can see the caveats in the video. My guess is the cutscenes will have more AA applied than the gameplay. But that doesn't mean it isn't all in engine, it is.
Speak English.are you a masochist?
The 1080p trailer is interesting, there looks to be quite a large gulf in IQ between the cutscenes and the gameplay sequences. I wonder if they're doing a Naughty Dog and using 'in-engine' pre-recorded cutscenes?
Speak English.
A completely unrelated word.was I using $5 word?
Anyway, you were beaten, quite a few times, I wondered if you liked it.![]()
Honestly, it looks like gow ascension.
This new version of the cryengine looks amazing. Now just imagine what they can do with it on PS4 with the additional compute power for soft-body physics and animation.
A completely unrelated word.
We have no proof that they could make it look better on the PS4, and until we have games looking noticeably better on the PS4, I wish people would stop saying this.
it wouldn't be a exclusive game thread without the occasional drive-by trolling.
I happen to agree with him and have been on this board since before the changeover. Got a "Junior" comment for me as well?
You have answer for that even on this page.

You must be some sort of console warrior, Crytek told you themselves its in engine, stop disputing.Crytek's comments don't jibe with what I'm seeing, though. The in-game sections have lower IQ and tearing, like this:
But the cutscenes have higher IQ and no tearing, even on more complex looking scenes:
Obviously it's difficult to eyeball how computationally expensive a given scene is and hence whether it should be tearing, but it does seem a bit strange to me.
For what its worth, though, looking at the steps in the second shot it doesn't appear to be running at 1080p native, so there's that.
The visual improvement here is very impressive. Makes me excited to see how Quantum Break looks now (probably the biggest stinger from not buying an Xbone until 2018ish is going to be missing out on that).
Microsoft released both the Damocles and the story trailers in good quality, so there they are

Edit: Damn, I should have checked the last page, since it's already all there. Move on then!
One word: cutscenes.
I know what masochist means. I don't even know what the hell you're talking about.ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
look up masochist my friend, it was a friendly jab, if your eyes are too full of red to get it, sorry for ya![]()
Yes, what about them? One word: cutscenes.
huh? The power gulf isn't proof? I understand the system wars can be tiring but when you're ignoring logic, that's another issue altogether.

when they're making trailers they likely take content from various states of the game development. So you may be seeing stuff from gameplay months in the past when the build was relatively stable but not reflective of the current state of the game.Crytek's comments don't jibe with what I'm seeing, though.
