True.

Leach Seed/Toxic/Sunny Day/Solar Beam?

I'd be wary running this for these reasons.

Rain and sand are more common and will cancel out the sun when they're evoked.

Sunny Day with just one attacking move isn't great. You'll be walled completely by anything that resists grass, while giving a boost to Fire types which are SE against Venusaur. So at that point you'll either die or be forced to switch out, giving your opponent a free turn or a body.

If the rest of your team can't take advantage of the sun, it's pretty pointless to have it on Venusaur.

Venusaur is better paired with a drought user; frees up a coverage slot.

I see. So you'd suggest maybe dropping the Sunny Day/Solar Beam for something like Sleep Powder and some attacking move? Be more focused on status effects?

I'm completely new to not just playing pokemon in a very casual "pick all the high damage moves, cool" kind of way.

Not sure yet, I'm only about to go grab a bulbasaur. Still super early in the game.

How can I get a chlorophyl one if I want to go that route? Just a percent chance?

you'd have to get it from trade or friend safari. Sunny day is good for chlorophyl venusaur becaause it makes it move x2 faster but otherwise probably not

I still have a couple of Dittos and about a dozen of Dratini if anyone is interested, although I'm sure many have already taken the kind offers of others.

I would love that Ditto. My FC is in my profile.

Edit: Thanks ElTopo!

Aegislash wrecked dat supposed Trump Card

I can't believe I'm still stuck trying to pick my own nickname. What the hell are they thinking, telling someone to pick a nickname for himself.

Picking nicknames for the Pokemon was already exhausting enough, they had to go and put this in the game. Wheewwww... I'm strongly considering just keeping it the normal name. My name is so nickname unfriendly.

Since your friends are all losers (in the sense that you'll beat them in everything) anyways I've decided my Nickname to be "Lord T."

Seriously awesome feature XD

It's a little sad that I've read through the entire OT1 and now this one, and I don't even own a 3DS / 2DS :(

I really want to play this game, and money isn't really an issue, I just have extreme buyers remorse when buying something that I'll only play 1 game with, then likely not use for a long time.

Back to living vicariously through you all! I would leave a tip

What does it mean when a stat is in light blue on the Pokémon strength screen.

Base stat increased by 10% IIRC.

A stat in red is base stat -10%.

This depends on the nature of your Pokemon.

EDIT: Seems it is just the other way around XD

Jesus, alredy on OT2

Finally bought X a few hours ago, just now getting started. Feels so good... It's... it's beautiful, man

Currently trying to hatch a shiny DD adamant tyrunt. So much fun staring at the scenery while going up and down the route. Lol

Oh right, forgot about him.

I know Bidoof's are catchable but I wonder if wild Bibarel's are around to let me be lazy and non evolve one.

With the new Exp. Share, you won't even need to train it. I caught a Bunnelby as an HM Slave and never used it in battle. It's level 46.

GameFreak really made a huge step forward in how they handled breeding this generation. Destiny Knot and the Safari Zone make building a competitive team not so discouraging. Obsessing over IVs has always been such a bother, but I've always been compelled to keep pushing for the best. Now it shouldn't take longer than a day of dedicated hatching for me to breed the right Pokemon.

Just another reminder that pretty soon I'll be giving away all of my Aipoms I've been breeding. They all share the following stats:

Nature: Jolly
Ability: Run Away (Technician upon evolution)
Perfect IVs: Attack, Speed (some have more)
Pokeball Cosmetic: Quick Ball (tried for Master Ball--wouldn't work)
Egg Moves: Beat Up (some also have Fake Out)

Serebii says Clawitzer learns Shell Smash. Holy fuck. Please tell me that isn't a mistake. I know the Serebii guy posts here, maybe he could clarify? It says he learns it at Lvl. 47 and I'm past that and did not see the move.
