Very interested to see what the final multiplatform games look like on the XB1, I was thinking they would be similar but the who knows, the differences might be pretty noticeable if devs almost never show both versions.
Hot Pursuit was great on PC, but Most Wanted was a total mess. I don't know what happened, but performance was terrible. Even if you turned all the settings down it couldn't hold a consistent frame rate. I really like the NFS series, but I won't buy another one until it is shown they have fixed their tech.

Or maybe theres not a big difference to begin with. They already said one version will look better.
I thought it was hilarious that Most Wanted actually dropped frames when you went into a tunnel... Couldn't figure that one out, figure it would be the other way around.
Oh okI didn't say that there would be big differences. My point is that a developer/publisher isn't going to advertise it even if they knew there were big differences. Look at all the really awful ports that appeared on the PS3. How many times did those developers tell gamers that those ports would be that poor? It's their job to try to sell every version of the game, and if they're selling one as being greatly superior then it could have a negative impact on the overall sales as people with only one console may skip the game entirely if they happen to own the console that's going to get the inferior version.
Pretty sure the only multi plats we've seen openly on XB1 are sports games that are not known for pushing the hardware. They've shown BF4 but with cameras banned hence the shady off-screen footage. CoD has always been PC. Compared to PS4: watchdogs, ACIV, NFS:R, EA sports, NBA 2k all shown openly or with direct feed released.
Still for the first sweep of multiplats I'm sure the only differences will be resolution and framerate.
Right but all dev comments thus far have said the PS4 is easy to develop for and port for with some significant suggestion that the XB1 is not up to par, combined with the power difference it seems fairly obvious at this point
I have a feeling Amrich is suggesting the XB1 of else he wouldn't have tweeted that
Edit: nevermind my comment. Haven't we heard somewhere that COD was a lot easier to port over to the ps4?
Cause they run better on that platform.
FYI, your comment would still fit in with my post you replied to. They showed off the system that sold more.
From the stories and threads I've read, it's seems that the PS4 is the platform with the edge. Dan's tweet, to me, is saying that forget about which platform has more power (PS4), but which platform(XB1???) do developers prefer to work with? His post seems to be suggesting something, but he wouldn't come right out and attach the platforms to his qualifiers.
Thats exactly the point though. They did not demonstrated a XB1 version which means you can in absolutely no way draw the conclusion that the XB1 version is inferior. The fact of the matter remains, the graphics demonstrated in these videos are in no way something that the XB1 is already demonstrating an ability to handle which means saying that the Xb1 version will be inferior, idiotic
Direct evidence would be a good thing, yeah.Maybe it will sink in when all those Digital Foundry verdicts start rolling in.
I feel he is talking about the ps4. Developers having been voicing their support for the ps4 since day 1. It's come from Twitter with developers like dice, Jonathan blow, and etc. Only Microsoft first party talks about Xbox one development but no one else does. Even cboat hinted at driver issues and an incomplete sdk.I saw this on Twitter this morning and I'm not entirely sure which console he may be hinting about regarding "which console".

It's not "which console is more powerful?" It's "which console do developers say they prefer working with?" Keep an eye on that.
For some reason I'm surprised some people are still in denial that the XB1 versions of these games are not going to be equal to the PS4 versions. This topic has been discussed for so long now, and the evidence was ALWAYS pointed in the exact same direction.

Props for wasting no time in getting stuck in here on GAF.
How do YOU know it won't be inferior? To dismiss one argument with lack of proof when you have presented no facts yourself to counter it won't get you very far here.

I'm simply saying that basing what console version looks better on what console's on display is a bit silly considering that there's examples in the past of the worse console versions of multiplats being on display (instead of the version that's on the other console).
And I'm not in "denial". I never said that the PS4 version won't look better. It's just that it would probably be better to base whether or not it does on, you know, actual footage comparisons instead of possibly unrelated points/details.

5 pages of bgamer90 spin, awesome!
So will this be a PS4 has more trees in the park or PS4 has more leaves on the 7th tree in the park difference? You guys keep saying a difference, well is that hard to determine based on the power of the 2 consoles? No.The fact that the guy in charge of the game basically admitted the PS4 version looked better than the XB1 version is all you really need to know. If a developer says their game is the same on all platforms, it's rarely true. If a developer actually admits one version of their game looks better than the others, that's usually because it's pretty obvious.
Just something to think about.
Waiting for tangible evidence isn't crazy though, nor is that even spin really. The PS4 may have the better version of many games by far, but that performance difference, to the extent that it exists in the final product might not be the reason for one version to be shown off in this instance. The fact that the guy in charge of the game basically admitted the PS4 version looked better than the XB1 version is all you really need to know. Is this the "bad news" for Xbone that was supposed to come out today?
No, this is: http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=699541&page=2Is this the "bad news" for Xbone that was supposed to come out today?

Yep, since pointing out that certain facts don't fully relate to something being automatically true (even using past examples to show my point) is "spinning".

He is always comparing to the ps2 to spin bad news into good news for the xbone.Using some weird scenario from the PS2 era against common sense... Yes, I'd call it spin, denial, whatever you want.

For those looking for "evidence". Take the fact that the director of the game straight up admitted a month ago that one of the console versions was going to look better than the other one. Then they show up demoing the PS4 version to the press. Hmm, I wonder which one looks better? The one they decided to leave at home? Sure, sure.

This looks as close to burnout as you can get. I'm excited.
Any idea when this will be coming out?
Yeah, I bought Criterion's version last year, because I'm a HUGE Burnout fan, and it ran like shit on my shouldn't-be-running-like-shit gaming PC.
You mean they didn't show the game on the version that performed and looked empirically worse. A version of the game that required a large and late patch to prevent the game from dropping to a single-digit frame rate. Is that the scenario you are saying matches your example?
