Which ones are you referring to?
Probably The Last Remnant and Dark Souls

Or maybe one of the Ys games? Apparently TLR was patched on PC, which improves the game over the console version somehow, but I don't think that's generally regarded as one of the best JRPGs this gen either way.
lol the PC will never be a threat to consoles. Casuals like consoles.
I do agree that console sales probably peaked. There's still a lot of money to be made if hardcore gaming grows, though. That's where all the good money is anyway, if the goal is to sell many games per console.
That's kinda why I personally think MS insisting on Kinect is a really bad move. They caught the end of the wave with the original Kinect. Right now, they're just inflating the barrier of entry to their platform by $100 over an audience that probably doesn't want or need that product. I might be wrong there; I was wrong about the orignal Kinect, after all.
But no one cares about PC gaming, if they did there wouldn't be millions of pre-orders for nextgen consoles.
While most of use know all the benefits of PC gaming the rest of the world don't care and don't even think of PC as a gaming platform beyond Facebook games solitaire.
There are millions of people who will be buying nextgen consoles this year and next year for a game that will run on their PC because they do not see PC as an option.
ya can argue until you are blue in the face but its true.
Water is wet.
Fire is hot.
Ice is cold.
It honestly can be for some people. While I scoff without hesitation at the usual excuses cooked up by console warriors around these parts, there are some pretty obvious things about PC gaming that are troublesome to some people. SteamOS could help solve some of those problems, but it still won't be as simple as putting in a disc and playing.
Then again, console games ship with day one patches and such now, so it's not all what it should be for that crowd outside of the portables.
Consoles have great price/performance.
Doesn't Ouya making list the pretty much invalidate it altogether? I mean, Leapsters a bigger threat.
Nvidia driving a PR campaign against next-gen consoles.
Ouya (if it ever catches on)
With regard to relentlessly increasing production costs for video games (esp. those with good graphics) I think that PC gamers are underestimating the importance of purchasing power: GTA5 made $800,000,000 revenue within 24 hours and without the platform PC. That didn't go unnoticed.
I also think that PC gamers are overestimating the importance of tech like Mantle, G-Sync and Oculus Rift for the mass market. I mean, the dumbest assumable user will never understand what Mantle or G-Sync are and he probably won't spend $300 on a peripheral that needs high-end hardware to function and that will probably only work in a few handpicked games.
Having funky tech is nice for the technophiliac gamers, but will this tech generate $800,000,000 in 24h? I also start to question the importance of VR, because I think that good games will never need it. I fear that it will affect gaming like 3D did affect the cinema: Producing beautiful pictures without any form of acceptable substance. Suddenly, 3D was the only substance needed.
And don't forget that consoles are a threat to PC gaming, too: With increasing production costs for AAA games, the PC built up a niche for low-budget productions and indie gaming. These low-budet productions and indies will find their way to the console in the next generation. I mean, just look how all these indies are embracing Sony right now. This fact alone should make some PC gamers wonder, especially when you take the buying power of the console audience into consideration.
PC gamers did that themselves by pirating the shit out of games.

YES. Guaranteed Kinect is going to be a complete bomb with Xbone and they will be selling a Kinectless bundle for $399 by E3. I can't believe they think the audience for that thing is willing to spend $499 on a new box. Blows my mind.

I know that and you know that but a majority of people don't or haven't given it a second thoughtA few things
1. Good preorder numbers for consoles doesn't really imply that "no one cares about PC gaming
2. There's plenty more games that are hits besides facebook games and solitaire
3. Maybe they see PC as more high end and their needs are met by consoles at a better price value
I'd say Apple easing into gaming is a far greater threat than PC
No. It took current-gen consoles with their multi-core processors to establish multi-core processors among PC gamers and will take next-gen consoles with their hetero-core processors to establish hetero-core processors among PC gamers.
And I think this has three causes:
I think especially the third point isn't much more than a nuisance at the moment. If one of the next-gen systems would be powering Nvidia tech, then Nvidia would tell us all day long how awesome it is and so on. I see it more like a background noise at the moment.
- Valve. They definitely came to stay.
- Current gen being on the market for eight years.
- Nvidia driving a PR campaign against next-gen consoles.
The second point is also the reason why a console like PS4 can't satisfy demand for release. Parts of the hard core crowd wanted a new generation badly and some of them switched into PC gaming prematurely.
Valve is indeed a threat, but I think that Valve's influence on the mass market is rather low at the moment and I expect it will stay low for the next gen. I also think that Valve can't compensate for the high purchasing power of the console audience, because they don't have EA and they don't have Blizzard. And don't forget: You can still do PC gaming without using Steam at all.

You know I didn't know there was a $400 computer out there that could run BF4 at High end graphics.
There isn't a console out there that can run BF4 at high end graphics period so what's the comparison?

This list and video is garbage. Mobile and Consoles are two completely different platforms.
