Chose a gal ('cause dunno lol, always doing that in most RPGs), bought a hat and made my way past the first badge. It's kinda fun, but it didn't really catch me yet. I'll play more though, and I do totally see the appeal. I guess for me it will be all that character customizing, can you change the hair style later on?

You have some options for the hair in the next city. It's the big city with the professor, but be careful and don save in the streets of that particular city, there is a bug and your save may be lost for ever.

Pikachu holding a Light Ball is significantly stronger than Raichu but not as fast or bulky. They both kinda suck.

Raichu is slightly faster, slightly more bulky (moreso on SpDef) and slightly less powerful than Light Ball Pikachu.

Light Ball Pikachu: 35/110/40/100/50/90
Raichu: 60/90/55/90/80/110

My Pikachu is doing work for me right now but I do remember how quickly it gets outclassed.

I think I just use Meowstick or Gardenovir as my makeshift Electric Type Pokemon then.

DP Giratina essentially demanded them. That was one of the hardest legendary encounters I've ever faced.

In Kiloude City go in the battle Mansion and win at least 1 round.
Then in Kiloude City go north and you will find you rival, beat him.
He will then ask you to go talk to the professor in Anistar city in front of the huge Crystal; do so.

Although actually, according to one NPC in X/Y they're not really eggs..but 'cradle'.

You can, but it's simpler to just get someone to breed the two starters you're missing and give them to you.
