Um, weird question to which the answer is probably "no", but is that the Super Smash Bros Melee version of the Pokemon theme that they using the battle demo video at the title screen?

I've been trying to get a Fennekin through Wonder Trade, but these stupid people only gave me a Braixen and a Delphox! YOU ARE ALL USELESS! Now I'll have to breed them! USELESS!!!

I wouldn't disagree that it's useful, especially early on so you don't completely on your starter and keeping things interesting. I turned it off around level 50 or so when I was satisfied with my team and I've had a pretty enjoyable difficulty since. Roughly on par with trainers with 1-2 Pokemon.

I dropped it when my pokemon reached level 50, too. And I didn't complete the sentence above, I meant to say "I'm not so sure about it not being cheap"

Ha, I did the same. It works so well, too, being blue with gold details and having an "X" on it. of course, I'm still trying to get one with a good nature, and after capturing a modest one it turned out it had bad IVs so I gave in to despair and am now trying to capture a modest ralts with synchronize.
 
Damn just got a Riolu on Wonder Trade.

I sent an Abra though. Hopefully it's a good Abra that becomes an Alakazam one day.

Also I have 884 poke miles. I've wonder traded maybe 15 times. That feels like way too much!
 
I have the worst, most malicious luck with shinies. Caught a shiny Sunkern of all things in Gold. Caught a shiny Onyx in Crystal right before my GBC's batteries died. Never saw one shiny in the 450 hours I put into Ruby, but caught two shiny Whismurs in Sapphire. Then I randomly hatched a shiny Riolu in my Japanese Diamond version, and apparently used up all my shiny luck for life because I haven't seen a single one since.

edit: haha looking at their profile now and just noticed we both had quotes from JoJo as well.
 
Third shiny! Nincada after 10 minutes in a new Safari. Which is a 2-in-one (Ninjask + Shedinja shinies), and Shedinja is my 2nd favorite pokemon, score.

My first legit shiny was a Spinda.

But since then I've got Medicham and Golbat.

Shiny Crobat is so awesome.
 
Ok guys i need your advice about something. I really want to play this games but i think i will get tired of it real fast because each game i played (for instance HG) i quit really fast :\
The question is if i should buy it or not ? what do you guys think ?
 
Hey guys, is here a competitive battling thread or should it just go in here?

To start, I am starting to build a team and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on a "job outline"

For example, I am thinking the following so far


Special Sweeper
Physical Sweeper
Claric
Baton pass
Special Sweeper 2
Physical Sweeper 2


* Strategy would be to first go sweeper then baton pass, then sweeper, etc. Using cleric as necessary. Is this a decent basic setup or am I missing some pieces?

You honestly don't need 2 sweepers. One of each is good.

This gen you honestly want some bulky spinner and a lead for entry hazard set ups. A
 
This is going to sound crazy but, if anyone got some spare Charizardite X lying around I can trade a Bulbasaur Egg AND a Fennekin Egg for it. Don't really care what Pokemon you put it on. First I actually got to breed em tho lol but thats what my lovely Ditto is for!

My hate knows no bounds. I'm hatching them like mad right now, I've got a shiny Charizard already from the D/P days but I obviously don't have access to it until after Christmas... I've not got the patience for that!

Thanks for the tips, I'll adjust.

I figure the best thing is to come up with a decent team, and then to just try it out and make changes as you see fit.

560 or so eggs later. I finally did it! Oh my god I'm so happy I'm shaking. My first shiny ever outside of red gyrados and I've been breeding eevees for about 24-26 hours I think (not in a row) if not more. I'm so unbelievably excited right now.

Aw darn it. Shedinja has perfect Speed IVs, perfect Attack IVs..

That's awesome, dude! What are you going to evolve it into?
 
Is there a place in game where you can eventually grind out all evolutionary stones and items? Don't mind fighting for BP to get evo items or having to fork over other types of currency. What I can't stand is not being able to get more than a few of a particular item.

Dragonite/Garchomp/Salamance are all good.

Though with the rise of Fairy and Sticky Web, I'd suggest a flying dragon if you have a spinner to get rid of rocks. I also noticed that Aegis Lucario are all weak to EQ, so having a flying to switch into might help a LOT
