I'm a bit sad I'm one shotting everything, I didn't even get to see
Lysandre's Mega Gyarados :(
The Mega Gyarados is such a hilarious downgrade that it's not epic at all. My Venusaur outsped and one shotted it with Petal Dance. Imagine what some random Fighting Pokemon can do.

Oh my god. Chasing the
legendary bird
is the worst. He changes position randomly. Every time you use the Fly ability, he also changes his position. You have to use repels, head straight for his current position and hope he's still there. Most of the time he has just changed his position again. Prepare to do this ten times. Fun!

(I hate this shit :( )

The best strategy seems to be using the Fly ability on the same town (Couriway Town works good) until he's on a route near it, then encounter him. (In case anybody wants to know)

Quick question, I'm at the 5th gym, the one with the questions. Should I do the wrong answers too for extra xp or does that mess something up?

No you can get the question wrong for extra Exp, it won't mess the game up.

Question about the Masuda Method.

If I were to accidentally say "No" to the breeder if he asks if I want the egg, would that reset the Masuda Method?

No it doesn't.

Best nature for Yveltal? Just used capture O power and a Quick Ball and got him on my first turn. Debating on resetting...

Bit of a waste of a capture O power as Yveltal has a high catch rate.

Does stuff like Magma Armor still reduce egg hatch time?

Yes it does.

Yay, beat the Champion! Now time to do some legendary hunting. There are several places I haven't explored yet (lost hotel, the cave with the mine carts, the sea area at the northeast, and a cave near where you see the 8th gym leader) so I am imagining some or most of these areas might have something interesting...

Also, is it cheap to do Pokemon breeding by going to Lumiose City, getting on my bike, and taping my analog stick to the left? Infinite spinning!

Got my first shiny in X/Y.

Minccino in Friend Safari. Has Skill Link too, neutral nature but at least more usable than a -Spd or -Atk nature. :D

I've been reading all the IV-EV discussion around here but I don't understand it very well, the IV part specially. Any web where it has an explanation for dummies with all the new stuff?

Each stat has an IV of 0 to 31. For example, a Pikachu I catch can have an Attack IV of 22, a Speed IV of 0, an HP IV of 31, etc. Another Pikachu I catch can have totally different IVs.

IVs can add a maximum of 31 stats at level 100. Lets say a Pikachu with 31 Speed IVs caps the Speed stat at 131. If I had a Pikachu with 0 Speed IV, it will cap Speed at 100, hence the 31 stats given by the 31 Speed IVs.

Does that make sense?

Have I finally managed to breed a perfect Larvesta? Her characteristic is Mischievous, Serebii IV calculator says 30-31 in everything with 31 Sp Atk confirmed, but I'm not sure how to use the IV Judge.

This is what he says anyway:

*This Pokémon has outstanding potential overall.
*Incidentally, I would say that its greatest potential lies in its HP.
*But its Attack stat is good, too.
*Hmm. And its Defense stat is good too.
*Although its Sp. Atk stat is equally good.
*Its Sp. Def stat seems just as good, though?
*And, well, its Speed stat is good, too.
*Stats like those... They simply can't be beat!

Have I done it, gaf?

Top percentage Larvesta right there!

EV trained and evolved now finally back on with the game. :3

Thank you for the explanation! :D

So I've checked my supertrained Venomoth (252 evs speed, 252 evs spA, 4 evs hp) and I see that his speed has 31 IV'S, theoretically now he has the maximum speed possible, but the rest of his IV's are garbage around 12-18, if I breed him holding a destiny knot with a Ditto he should pass the 31 speed IV's to the next generation?

Here's a couple of hints to get a good one faster.

1. Kill the Yveltal / Xerneas. When you do that, it'll actually come back immediately and stay here like a normal legend. Natures and IVs aren't set, so you can do this to avoid that cut scene every time!

2. Get a Pokémon with the Syncrhonize ability (like Ralts or Abra) with the nature you desire, and have it fainted but in the first slot of your party. This gives you a 50% chance of getting the nature you want. In Yveltal's case, you have a lot of choices. You can use Timid for the pure special set, or Modest if you want more power and bulk. Hasty is good if you want the mixed set with Suckerpunch, or the Acrobatics set. Finally, if you want a defensive Yveltal, go for a Calm nature.

Xerneas is pretty offensive. Modest is probably the best, but if you're a speed freak like me and want to outspeed Rayquaza when they come back, you can use Timid. Hasty / Naive may also end up being good for a Choice Scarf set with Megahorn (for Mewtwo and CM Latias) and a possible Life Orb set with Close Combat.

3. In the case of Speed, bring a Pokémon who is ONE speed point lower than Xerneas / Yveltal. For reference, a perfect speed neutral nature one has 119 Speed, while a +Speed nature one has 130 Speed.

4. Finally, bring 3-4 rare candies and a Reset Bag. after you do that other fight, use the Reset bag to get rid of all the EVs from that battle. Use the rare candies and this IV calculator: http://www.metalkid.info/Pokemon/Calculators/IV.aspx

I'm not sure if they got the other Pokémon accurate, but I can say that they have Xerneas and Yveltal's stats spot on!

Got a gentle. Happy with that. Having to go through the whole fight after before I can find out the nature is so terrible...

So I finally got a modest Xerneas with perfect IV in all its important stats, except speed, which is a lousy 11. Should I accept it or retry?

Zen - Ghost - Shuppet, Pumpkaboo, Dusclops
Mustafa - Electric - Electrode, Helioptile, Manectric

Yo name your electric pokemon Mustafa?!

Thank you for the explanation! :D

The Destiny Knot passes down 5/12 possible IVs, so sometime it'll pass and sometimes it won't, but you'll also pass down those 12-18 IVs and I'm not sure if you'd like that. To isolate your speed, give it a Power Anklet when breeding.

I got Pokemon X a few days ago. I've only got 2 badges so far since I've just been messing around on Amie and Super Training a lot. I keep forgetting how addicting a new Pokemon game is lol.

Also Wonder Trade is glorious.

My FC is 3995 6530 5952.

I wouldn't recommend PXZ to anyone unless they like hours and hours of repetitive battle and have a huge thirst for fan-service.
kos mos!!! Pretty much. The demo was fun but i think ill wait for a while. I skipped out on Black 2 (enjoyed Black) and the last game before that was the original silver and ive been hearing nonstop praise for this game and the changes that have been implemented.

Yeah holy fuck, Friend Safari is rigged for sure.

Got another Shiny. Timid female Kirlia with Telepathy.
