New Ryse: Son of Rome story trailer [new footage]

There's several scenes for example where almost nothing but the character's jaw seems to move, which is just never the case in sorcerer demo where face seems continuously fluid.

What? Lol i think you have the games mixed up bro.

The sorcerers neck is the one that's static.
Of course there are games that trick you into thinking you're looking at real world people and not video game characters, eg. Beyond Two Souls, The Last of Us, Killzone Shadow Fall, Infamous Second Son, the Sorcerer demo. But Ryse fails spectacularly at achieving that goal.

Get out.

hm.. saw some videos. Have you played The Witcher 2? I'm still feeling it more like TW2. Which I think is "simple" too. But the enemies encounters make it complex and addictive (and of course the powers).

Another offscreen gameplay. Guy did played well but got detroyed by the last enemy wave:

It's comparable to TW2 as well, but that game has magics and all the bombs and stuff you can use during a fight.

The demo had those healing and perception items on the D-Pad, but it did not work - or maybe I just had none. The only thing I could do is call one of the god powers, which has an AOE push away effect and the buff you get from it.
So Remember Me, TW2 and a little bit of Batman DNA.

And yes, I also got destroyed by the last wave, every single time. It's tough!

All of the games quoted in this thread look great. Once you are playing, I doubt you guys will focus on somebody's neck is moving correctly.

Man, did Sony make you sign a contract or something?

Jeez.

Really?? Have you not seen any footage of Ryse??? Almost every page in this thread that has a gif that contradicts your comments.

Looks like some fun gladiator goodness, and like it gets challenging as well. You can also tell it looks gorgeous, even with the horrible quality. Very crisp and clean looking.

Just downloaded and watched that Ryse story trailer, game is looking fucking gorgeous. I know I won't be getting an Xbone any time soon, and I feel a bit salty. It's a good thing.

Challenging indeed. That guy with the two flaming clubs is a pain in the ass.

Good to hear. I have got to have this game for Gladiator mode alone. I have been dying for a decent gladiator game and this mode looks like it will work out quite nicely. But the epic looking campaign is the real treat, of course.

My posted landed on the new page, so maybe people read my post without knowing what I was referring to, but this:

I did, yesterday actually, and as I said, it's not even close. Ryse looks clearly 'fake', even though I don't have enough technical knowledge to explain what looks that way. It never for a single moment tricked me into thinking I was looking at something that's not game graphics.
made me roll my eyes so hard (on top of hyperbolic phrases like "it's not even close") that I had to mock it.

It's fun! No idea why it was set up as solo as it's clearly meant to be played coop, it's just too tough and the god powers buff/heal your teammates.

I'll probably get shit on from great heights for saying this but I really really hope Remedy uses Kinect to enhance some parts of QD. Not for any standard game mechanic, but instead for some moments that can make creative use of the device.

I agree, but give users a choice to use it or not for these moments. I guess, if upon loading the game if it does not detect the Kinect they can make the game default to controller support. I think Kinect can add some really cool things, especially with the newer Kinect, but for me, I would want to be able to chose control method in the mini-games/moments etc.

Sifting through debris in a time stopped explosion? Kinect enabled detective mode? I would enjoy that. :)

Comparing graphics of a linear game with an open world game.

Plus he was wrong about the fog in infamous SS. It isnt there to hide popups.

He was seriously banned for that? People make silly or potentially inaccurate comparisons or statements all the time on here, don't they? Anyway, I know whining about bans isn't exactly popular, so that'll be the end of it, but hopefully it isn't a permanent one. I love the guy's enthusiasm for whatever he's excited about.
