What Aegislash moves are you guys running? I need some inspiration, my Doublade seems kinda lame right now.

Right now it's 53 and has:
Slash
Sacred Sword
Night Slash
Iron Head

He "clicks" once he fully evolves. I use Sacred Sword, Sword Dance, King's Shield, and Shadow Claw.

King's Shield is extremely good, and you can Sword Dance while shielded.

90% sure the Shiny Charm works on the shiny rate in total, not just from eggs. It increases the chance of seeing one by 3x. It just happens that it makes the Matsuda method of breeding eggs even more effective.

Also, some shinies are awesome.

If that's the case it's a little more useful.

It's still a bum gift to give to someone who already has every Pokemon.

Getting so close to perfect Goomy.
At those Outstandings now, but still 2 stats away from a Perfect...
If by perfect you mean 6 31 IVs, why 6 and not just 5?

Been wondering why people go to the extra effort to get 6 when any given pokemon can sacrifice 1 stat.

Woah! Shiny Froakie!

Leuio5v.jpg

This was maybe my 10th one, wasn't even going for it lol

Nature drops speed but it's got a perfect speed IV along with attack and special attack. That balances out right?

I'm gonna call it Kunimitsu!

Yeah, getting to 4 was so quick! DIdn't realise it'd be such a long wait till the 5. I'm breeding a Male and Female Dratini both with 4 perfect IVs each, but one is different (Male has Attack, Female has Speed). Keep getting 4s out of them with either Attack or Speed missing haha.

Same thing with me and Marill right now :P

Is Honedge seeing a lot of play in peoples parties? He's definitely my favorite of the new pokemon I've seen so far. I'm kinda glad I paid no attention to this game going in, I have no idea what some of these pokemon are so it's a nice surprise when I see a new one.

Mixed Sweepers need all 6 iirc. I don't really care if every stat is perfect, so as long as I have 3-4 perfects I'm fine with it (while I build up BP).

A lot of E4 team shots show it so I am assuming the line is popular. Arguably, Aegislash is the most powerful Gen VI pokemon.

I have a question:

So I'm not a Pokemon noob, I played red/blue/yellow, gold, ruby, pearl, etc etc, but it's been a while (didn't play Black/White), and it's sort of bothering me. When I'm playing, often times I can't tell what type of pokemon I'm going up against. I then have to trial and error to try and figure out its type.

Is there a better way to do this without looking online?

Aegislash (Honedge evo), Florges, Protean Greninja and Sylvian are probably the new pokemon I see talked about most for potential on competitive teams. The Honedge line is great. Really interesting typing, ability for Aegislash and good move pool.

Only from eggs, though. It was only going to be a big deal to hypercompletionists and competitive breeders - at that point you would have had nothing else to do.

Shinies are ugly and anyone who uses them has bad taste.

Depends on the shiny, really.

True. Dunno if it's worth the 1/200 chance of getting all 6 though haha. Could probably sacrifice not having perfect in another stat like Defence or SpD.

Pokedex it after the fact? Are types visible when you've only seen them?

So it hit me, if I'm doing this crazy Shiny Ralts thing... I should make sure it has a good Gardevior compatible nature when it hatches.

From my experience with Gardeviors, they want damage. They're not frail, but they're no tanks either as all it takes is one good physical move to put the hurt on one. Special Defense is good, though.

So, I'm thinking Modest is a good nature. +Sp. Atk, -Atk. Was also considering Calm for +Sp. Def, -Atk, but I don't have a Calm Ralts to use. Or a Calm foreign Ditto.

Besides, Gardevior makes a decent Special Sweeper with Moonblast and Psychic, doesn't it? Calm Mind as a third and then... something TM for flavor in the last slot. Protect, Rflect, Light Screen or something that's super-effectve against Steel would probably be worth looking at.

She can learn thunderbolt.

Oh wow, didn't expect him to be that powerful. I'll definitely keep him in my party going forward then. I plan on going right on back to route 6 once I have to pokeradar to try and catch a shiny one.

It's a letter from Sycamore to "his future himself". It's in one of the benches next to the lady that gives you U-turn in the Train Station

Huh...now I'm wondering how they expected you to find it in the first place. I used the item finder but it led me to a regular pokeball instead.

You know what's funny? The Gardevior I was breeding all the first Ralts off? It HAS Thunderbolt. I just didn't think about Electric > Steel. Was thinking Flamethrower or something. But I don't think that's a TM here.

It is. The girl that gives TMs at different times each day has it

...I got my Dratini with 5 IVs and it has fucking Shed Skin instead of Marvel Scale... Back to the cycling lol. At least he can replace the male I've currently got in there with 4, should make it faster this time.

Man that sucks...My Marill will probably have sap sipper lol

What's the oldest game I could play where my Pokemon could still end up on the Pokebank once it's released? Finished this on Monday, thinking of replaying some of the old ones that I haven't played in awhile.

Assuming you have all the intermediary steps, you could potentially go as far back as Gen 3 (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen)

Anything from Sapphire/Ruby and Gen I remakes can possibly be transferred to Gen VI. It'd be a long process, though.

I have a few from those games patiently waiting until Poke Bank is released in my Gen V games!

Just picked up the game today because it seems like all of gamingdom is playing it at the moment. I've played about 5 minutes and wow my first impressions are really, really bad.

Obviously I actually haven't hit the actual real content of the game yet, but the presentation is just awful in this game. Terrible sound effects, ugly and poorly crafted UI and a bizarrely constrained range of movement. I'm sure a lot of the work on this title went into developing the 3D, fully animated battles (they look great), but so far this feels like a real B team effort on the part of the Pokemon team...

No, I mean 5.
It's more Perfect if I have less Attack (going for Sp. Atk), since Confusion will be less of an issue.

Did you get the roller scates yet?

There's also always foul play to take into account.

EDIT: Anyone see that new item that boosts Sp Def at the cost of status moves? That gives me an interesting idea although I spent my first batch of BP on a life orb.

Terrific, thanks! I beat Black 2 fairly recently, so I'll probably start with Soul Silver and work my way back from there.
