That being said I'd be lying if I said the price bump to $400 isn't semi hard to swallow. N7 for $230 really seems like an even more insane value now.

My mini still works great. I'll be getting next year's model. But keeping the old one around makes me weary that they'll keep that forever like the iPad 2 (Since a first gen mini is the same thing as an iPad 2.) and the real mini will be $400 from now on.

But fuck. $400 it is then... next year. Or sooner. Eh I dunno.

I wonder if the dimensions are exactly the same so I can keep my case.

My guess is the jump with the A7 was considered enough not to need an 'X' version.
