Well that was fun everyone I hope everyone is able to make new purchases and be v.happy.

"These amazing products are great examples of the type of innovation that only Apple can deliver."

"Other companies would be incredibly proud to just have one of these products."

So far up their own arse it makes me sick. 1080p Nexus 7 is a decent tablet and $170 cheaper than Retina Mini, if Google put $170 worth of engineering into it I'm sure it would be on par if not better.

I'm most blown away by how the mini got an A7 too... and I think all the rest of the iPad Air's tech. Last year's mini had 2 year old iPad tech in it. So it's the same thing but smaller now, and a higher pixel density. Yeah, that $70 price hike makes a lot more sense now.

Better get begging mum for a Retina iPad because it looks awesome.

Pretty decent keynote, even iPad Mini got cheaper.

Free Mavericks here I come once my iMac returns with a new PSU!

All the parts and information leak so far in advance people shouldn't be 'underwhelmed' by Apple keynotes these days. They are spoiled well before they begin so you can't really shock the audience.

that ad was pretty nice.

anyway, yeah, getting an iPad Air at 16 GB as soon as I can. Mini with retina display at $400 is not for me. too expensive, imo.

Also looking forward to the new iWork updates. I use Numbers pretty frequently.

I’d say the new 13” rMBP is the best machine they have now. Screen blows away the Air, it’s less than half a pound heavier and it’s “only” $1300 to start. Much more reasonable starting price.

I swear, people have the exact same complaints after every single Apple event. It's either "all they did was improve their existing products" or "the new product is underwhelming." Every time.

Love how people are up in arms about the mini with retina price when it's basically the same hardware as the full size iPad, for $100 less. Margins are going to be tighter on that thing

It's almost exactly double the price of the nexus 7 now. You can bitch about whatever but mini was seen as a cheaper alternative to regular iPad, that's no longer the case. Mini seems like a huge downgrade for $100 vs. the iPad air. Seems like they're doing it to push people to jump to the higher priced air.
