Pokémon XY |OT2| Would you like to leave a tip?

Now up to 335 Pokemon caught and have only around 10 Pokemon left to see in the coastal dex, all which shouldn't be too much trouble. Need a lot of help evolving some Pokemon though.

So I'll ask again; I am post game, max style, all o-powers but hatching and I can't seem to get the man to appear in the Cafe Introversion. What could I be missing?

You sure you're max style? Buy like 20-30 premier balls at the Ball Shop just to make sure. And before you get hatching, you should have 16 OPowers.

Side note, why don't Magikarp and my Ditto get it on any faster? I'm trying to at least get Gyarados to have 4 perf IVs but damn. So long to get an egg.

So I just started playing this, my Froakie is still level 12 so I'm reeally early in the game, hello Pokegaf!!

One thing I want to mention is the animation, the last thing i expected from a Pokemon game is nice animation but damn, that's the best thing about the game, graphically speaking.

So I finally got an Adamant Ditto with some seemingly good IVs.
Outstanding but the best being HP and after Attack is good and also SP. Attack.
I know it is not perfect but should be very good still if I want to EV train primarily HP and Attack with a Mega Kangaskhan?

So how does the Battle Maison work? Every 10 fights, you fight a boss, and if you win you get 10 bp?

More like every 20 battle gives you a boss.
In the first round you fight 12 trainers for 1 BPs then it increases to 2BPs and if you beat the boss at the end you are rewarded 20 BPs.

Reading Smogon always depresses me. Nothing like seeing a bunch of grizzled competitive battlers tear your favorite Pokemon to shreds as useless trash. This is why I stick to Battle Spot.

To be fair, they're mostly concerned with their own metagame instead of the one that Nintendo promotes. Your own personal favorites are probably perfectly fine in Battle Spot.

Unless you're trying to sweep with Lumineon or something.

Just finished X. Completed both now, had a far more balanced team on X than Y... Also Super Trained all my Pokemon too.

Now to wait for PokeBank.

One of their writers put Scrafty on a list of "Top 10 Pokémon Who Should Stay Out of OU," so I don't really care for the opinions of their staff at all. Pokémon is 30% planning, 30% luck, 30% skill and 10% critical thinking. If I can find a way to make my faves work, I will.

Is there a chance of mega stones that haven't been found? Seems like their could be some tucked away suuuuuper secret-like somewhere that no one has found.

Fuck the haters. If you're anything like me, it's way more fun to use your favourites and win less often than to use what people normally consider 'strong'. You have the element of surprise on your side - use it to the max!

Happens to every game, even more competitive focused ones like Street Fighter where you're out of luck if, say, Hakan was your favorite character or something.

At least in Pokemon you can build a team where the other Pokemon help support your favorite.

I find Smogon to be really useful for finding out about the advantages and disadvantages of a Pokemon and some possible sets, but outside of that, there are many people who just like talk crap about any Pokemon.

I just got a Shiny Gabite from Friend Safari!

However, it's has a Careful Nature with Perfect IVs in Speed and SpDef. Is that any good at all on a Gabite?

Indeed. And the purpose of tiers in the first place is to give a space for pokemon to be used without getting demolished, of course the only thing people ever seem to get out of it is "WHY ISN'T MY POKEMON IN OU!?"

Speed is fantastic and Sp. Def is always nice to have. Careful isn't a good nature on it, though not awful since you're never using Special Attacks on Garchomp.

If there were any more available in-game, I'm sure someone would have found them by now.

It's possible that there are more event-only ones like Blazikenite, though.

i.e. this thread
although I'm lucky, my favorites (Jolteon, Blaziken, Espeon, Greninja) are all OU (well, probably for Greninja) and up

Paired up a momma Honedge with her Son for IVs.

"The two seem to be getting along very well!"

How does the whole "Passersby" thing work? What controls who pops up and why in that order? Is it tied to in-game location or?

If you mean online passersby, I think it's just a random selection. Maybe the last X people to connect to the Internet.

If you're not connected to the Internet, it's just people playing within 3DS wireless range, but I assume you already know that :P

I've never had trouble doing this myself, but it's good to know there are others out there who feel the same way. i.e. people I can actually win against!

Yup. I laugh when my little Venomoth wrecks Tyranitars, Milotics and Kingdras of japanese people with +500 victories. Of course it's hard, but sticking to your faves is so rewarding when you pull it off, for me that's the fun of the game.

Now, if only I could only get a Storm Drain Lileep...

Could anyone hook me up with a Leafeon thats around level 20 give or take a couple levels? I want to play through the game with one, but it looks like you can't get one normally until around the 8th gym.

Would reeeeally appreciate it.

Has anyone found out the proper means to breed Baton Pass Torchics yet? I'm already mad I raised a brand new Adamant SB Blaziken without it.

"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favourites."

EDIT:

You take that male Speed Boost Torchic and breed it with a Ditto until you get a female Speed Boost Torchic. Then you breed that female Torchic with an Eevee or something in the Field Egg Group with Baton Pass.

EDIT2:
Since it's in the Field Egg Group, you can simplify things by using Smeargle. Sketch all the egg moves you want onto your Smeargle then breed your Torchic with it.

I remember another very similar looking location close to where the Alakazamite was. I wouldnt be surprised that it be used as a DLC for an event or something.

To be honest I do not take these "elite" Pokemon communities for granted with their battle techniques. They are good for inspirations but a lot of things can be different than their verdict. I always enjoy to read different strategies people create and the creativity behind them. I love pokemons with the most unique stats, abilities and typing. Creating unpredictable battles which is more fun than follow the usual Sweeper/Wall approach.

I think this guy was fishing for easy wins on Wifi battles. I'm just walking around, chillin out, and I get this random invitation to an unrestricted battle.
His level 60 somethings didn't expect a level 90 Mega Gardevoir, let's just say that.

I know that feeling. I run a mono-flying team online and I get quite a few people saying that I should be using a Sigilyph instead of my Simple Swoobat. Then I sweep them after a couple of Calm Minds and some Stored Power. Feels good!

I was on a roll online with some newly trained Pokes, destroying people's Megas left and right. Little did I know that Talonflame + Brave Bird would do so much harm to my team. T_T
