Knowing this place, it will come to that if some multiplatform games are too close.
Xbox looks pretty good but man, Lebron's teeth are ridiculous on PS4. His canines are pretty low res on XB1.

I have no idea about the TV spots. I haven't seen them. I find it hard to believe that they don't mention the xbox one at all. But if they don't that's a marketing deal.
He made a completely valid point. NFS (from EA, who have MANY deals with XB1 right now), NBA2K14, and EVEN COD(!) are being shown on PS4. Why? Does anybody honestly think Sony has a marketing deal to only show the PS4 version?
So they also made deal with COD and NFS?
yep nothing to worry about. it's just aggresive sony 3rd paty marketing that only ps4 versions have been seen. The months of concerns about dev talking xb1 trouble with dev tools and performance have absolutely nothing to do with it.
must be the new aggresive sony 3rd party marketing. has to be.
what do you mean by that?
Also, what's this about the Xbox One version of COD never being shown? The first ever debut footage was confirmed by the developer to be running entirely on the Xbox One. And the PS4 footage that was shown on IGN, wasn't that just the MP? I really didn't watch much of that footage except for a glimpse after people kept saying how terrible it looked, so that made me curious. But, to date, the only SP footage shown has either been the Xbox One version or the PC version. Did people doubt 2K when they said that the footage of NBA 2K14 shown was the PS4 version? I don't see any reason to doubt Infinity when they say the debut trailer for COD Ghosts is running entirely on the Xbox One. What's with the skepticism around everything Xbox One? Even now people can't seem to square that the PS4 version and Xbox One version of this game are running at the same resolution. Although, I personally wouldn't have been surprised in the least if the Xbox One version were running at a lower resolution, but apparently it's confirmed that both are 1080p native.

How many nails does it take to seal a coffin anyway?
Jup, both the PS4 and Xbox One Just fell out of the sky. No prototypes, no dev kits, nothing. It was impossible for the debut trailer to show clips running directly from XboxOne. I think the system not existing makes a strong point for my case. Same thing for Driveclub and Deep Down at the Playstation meeting in February. We will see how the games turn out when the games are released, I mean damn, I remember Killzone 2, I don't think I will ever forget that case.

Dreamcast servers going on it's 14th year!
PS4 guys have been harping on this resolution shit for a month now. Now that a X1 game matches the resolution, you're going to dig into the textures? What's next?

That's exactly what some on this thread are suggesting. I find it hard to imagine Sony blowing up that much money on every multiplatform publisher. But who knows! Both arguments seem like pure speculation to me. There is enough anecdotal evidence for people to cherry pick for or against the idea. There is no way to know for sure at this point.
I'm not trying to dig into anything. I'm just saying that the game having the same resolution and framerate doesn't mean that the game will appear identical on both platforms. There are other factors when it comes to graphics.
Eh, to be fair, many are taking the issue of rumors stating that one version of some multiplat running behind another in the pre-launch dev kit days to mean that the final hardware is not as capable as the other for running that game. That's not the same thing, obviously, but that's not how things are stated and the tone in most threads is one of certainty with only official confirmation in the way of what seems to be a foregone conclusion based on a lack of evidence to the contrary yet there is no evidence to believe in the first place unless you want to put all of your eggs into the insider/rumor troll basket. The narrative built and reinforced over the last few months is that X1 multiplats are inherently inferior so it's a surprise if it's even near to on-par with the PS4 version failing the possibility that MS paid the publisher to dumb down their Sony versions to achieve parity. Because, you know, there's gotta be a reason why X1 is somehow keeping up with PS4. Gotta be and it cannot be because MS built a competitive platform to make next-gen games for. Whatever the case for this and other multiplats, I think it's pretty lame that the default approach to X1 is mostly that of expecting the worst instead of seeing how it actually ends up first.Wait, do you really think a game being 1080p and 60 fps alone makes them equal in all aspects? We wouldn't have to speculate if they'd just show the Xbox One version. We've been trained to believe "version not shown is at least somewhat subpar compared to the version shown."
Is this a launch title?
If it is means there's a game at different resolution (CoD) and a game at the same resolution at launch for DF to pick over, should be interesting.

]If nba 2k14 is 1080/60 on the bone and ghosts isn't then I think the problem is Infinity Ward and not the console[/B]. Need to see if the xbone version is deficient in any other way though.
Yo, Shinobi! Where's the new thread talking about new engine, new features, etc... Fuck this resolution talk.

Did you really need the NBA game for that?, Battlefield 4 runs at 60fps and possibly higher rez and that looks tons better than COD.
Let's put it this way: if Sony's as broke as people keep joking they are, why would they waste money on 3rd parties to only show PS4 games at demo events? This is true because Sony only cares about their fanbase and would never use such marketing schemes to help promote their products. They have never or will ever have timed exclusive deals, use timed exclusive or any other promotional DLC content as a tactic, market their games as only on their systems, attack or berate the competition, charge consumers to play multiplayer games, remove services and functions on the hardware, or use proprietary devices for extra profit. No sir. They are a charity while Microsoft is all about greed and profits. This is how we all must think and behave. We are legion, right?
Still not sure what BF4 res is on the bone. I wouldn't draw that comparison yet.
I think its supposed to be him wearing his mouthguard but I could be wrong? I think i misread your post though...i'm guessing you were joking bout something![]()

My point is that launch software, while in the midst of being made on hardware and software that is also still cooking underneath, is not final. Loads of pre-launch software has stories of being completely different than actual release state. It happens enough that waiting and seeing should be the default stance on things rather than expecting someone to simply confirm what are just early comments about snapshots of in-development titles. It's a poisonous effect on all next-gen discussion, whether it's a tech-related thread or not.Jeff gerstmann hinted that PS4 will have better resolution and framerate in the bombcast. think he knows something.
Didn't Dice say 720p?
Still not sure what BF4 res is on the bone. I wouldn't draw that comparison yet.
Here's a link to a REALLY good summary of the reveal today:

On both? I may have missed that.
Do you have any link that showing only ps4 version of COD or NFS was some marketing deal?
I don't get what the rest of the rant was all about. But I am glad you got it off your chest.
Are you really having trouble understanding why people are skeptical of anything regarding the Xbone? It's honestly not that difficult to understand.
This is fucking beautiful for Basketball fans. And it also might be a first for sports games when we seem to be getting more features on the first title of a new gen, usually they're quite half assed.
Even if it is 720p, its still a huge jump up graphically from Ghosts. How anyone could think this is a fault of the Xbox One and not blame the developers is staggering, especially when the COD developers have been criticised for years over the poor graphics of their games.
I can gaurantee that they would be getting blamed if the PS4 version ended up 720p thats for sure.
As a future owner of both systems this is good news. Especially because this seems like an actual next-gen version of the game and not a prettier port. Also makes Activision and IW look like they didn't give much of a shit about next-gen this year. I mean, no matter which side of the fence you are on, the COD footage has looked like dog shit...
