Hey OP still looking for a clowny ass title

"Loki: Thor Too"

*DUMBASS SPOILER*

What the hell? At least state "SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE:" or something before that spoiler. Generally, spoilers after a joke or something are usually the punchlines, not actually spoilers.

The hyperbole on man of steel shittiness is mind boggling considering it has a decent story and way superior action than any of the marvel movies or batman
Pretty much. The story was better than most of Marvels output, the music was better, the cinematography was better, the action was better...I mean its hard to come up with something that the usual Marvel movies do better than man of steel.

It didn't end up being the greatest fucking movie since sliced bread, but it's miles ahead of the usual super hero dreck

They certainly look fantastic. It's just that there's more than a lot of action in the film and said action is boring precisely because the film hasn't done the necessary work to make you give a fuck about anybody involved in it. The action also doesn't really have an organic momentum to its structure. It doesn't feel like there are action beats that rise and escalate with the stakes we should be caring about. The film's action hovers somewhere between a 9 and an 11 for roughly three quarters of the film and it's too much. It's exhausting. It's like if the Matrix Reloaded highway sequence were to go on for 80 minutes.

It's like watching a Transformers action scene, only better shot. I didn't give a fuck about anybody involved. Not Superman, not Lois, not Toby Ziegler, nor Zod.

So the fight in Smallville did NOTHING for you?

That shit was fucking jaw dropping.

Or...it's just not a good movie. There are good parts to it, but Snyder can't direct actors and the whole thing is just kind of tone-deaf.
Its not a great movie, but its a shining light in a sea of mostly marvel blandness

Kind of the opposite of how it is in comics.

man, how long is Snyder going to ride this excuse? :lol

Even Watchmen, which was easily his best (in terms of material to work with and final product), is more problematic than good. I like the film a lot but mainly for Crudup and Haley's performances and a few exquisitely-directed sequences.

Snyder can shoot the fuck out of a movie but crafting a satisfying narrative is just not in his wheelhouse.

I thought Watchmen was great. That excuse only applies to Man of Steel. Something like Sucker Punch being total garbage is entirely Snyder's fault. :P

So this is supposed to be a thread about Thor: The Dark World, right?

Anyway, here's a new clip:

"You got Star Wars in my Lord of the Rings!"

Pretty much any Marvel movie thread is never about the marvel movie but how every other movie is better. Mixed in the trolls, the rankings, the "this is shit," the "marvel movies are bland", the CG is bad, the "lol superheroes" and sprinkle some people who actually like them because god forbid they enjoy it, and you got yourself a marvel movie thread. It's like neogaf hates that marvel is successful in their films.

well duh, either way im excited to see TDW but retcon out the super science asgardians....i understand the context of the film, none of this makes anything more believable. Believable to whom? Thor son of Odin son of Bor should be heir to the throne of asgard in its own fucking realm full of elves and magiks and dwarves and uru metal. Fuck you ultimate universe.

so much meh

the action nearly put me to sleep to be honest
and when supes
broke zod's neck
i almost stood up and walked out of the theatre. bad movie was bad. sucks because i was so hyped for it.

all of the marvel movies are entertaining as hell. no needs for rankings. looking forward to this one as well.

Read my post again. Well shot. Good effects. Did nothing to engage me.

I will say that I'm glad Larry Fong is coming back though. Man of Steel had nicely constructed action sequences, but everything else looked a little bit ass. Certainly a far cry from the polish of Watchmen.

Holy Shit

Chris Hemsworth talks Thor 3.

“I think what’s good about this is that each time, with the Avengers, we sort of made it difficult to separate them each time there’s some sort of conflict it’s like where’s the rest of the team? And I liked that Thor has another universe or the universe to sort of take care of and keep him occupied. I think that in the comic book the sort of end of days, Armageddon aspect is probably the direction in which it will all head in. Where it’s sort of the end of all things and there’s obviously no script or anything when I read the comic books I thought it was an interesting way to go.”

By Armageddon, Hemsworth is referring to Ragnarok, an apocalypse of sorts that represents the end of Asgard. The event plays a major part in Thor comics and while on the set of Thor 2 last fall, executive producer Craig Kyle also teased similar ideas when describing to us the Tree of Yggdrasil housed within the Asgardian Hall of Science which appears in the film.

“And the effects and woes and success of the universe are spoken through this, this living object. So, should the end of all things ever come this would probably be the first thing to fall.”

With Ragnarok comes one of Thor’s greatest enemies, Surtur, leader of the Fire Demons of Muspelheim. We asked Kyle about the possibility of them showing up and he laughed and danced around the idea, saying only that it’s an important storyline from the comics. As for Hemsworth’s desire to see Fire Demons show up in the next Thor solo movie?

“Yeah (laughs) bring them all in.”

Just saw this in Paris for the premiere.

Was fun and entertaining. Last act is the best IMO which leaves a pleasant taste.

Loki guy and Natalie Portman were there. The first seemed like a genuinely nice guy taking selfies with fans and all. Girls were hysteric for him btw...

I am a straight man, but Loki gives me tingly feelings in my nether regions.

It's not arousal, but it's something, you know? You just look at him and think "cor blimey, what a magical man. I wonder if he eats weetabix"

I still love latina women, but it's something to think about. They don't make me tingle, but he doesn't arouse me.

Anyway, looks fantastic. Booked my tickets ages ago.

"You got Star Wars in my Lord of the Rings!"

Did they do their ADR over the phone last week? It sounds like they are reading their lines from the couch.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the stuff in this clip is from the late extra shooting they did a couple of months ago to add more Loki into the movie. It definitely feels like it.

this is like the most generic, repetitive banter mostly heard in videogame chase missions.
"watch out! who taught you how to drive?"
"we're not going to make it!"
"watch out! who taught you- we're not going to make it!"
I love scenes like that in the clip but man, they are cliched. I was actually thinking about this earlier today. It's that
"We're not going to make it through there"
"Yes we are!"
"Oh no no no no...."

The whole fitting the craft through a small space or flying out before a door closes.

Into Darkness, Star Wars, ID4, pretty much an action sci-fi movie involving spacecraft of some sort.

I must be out of my mind. I'm not even that excited for the film and yet I just purchased a rather expensive ticket to the opening on the 30th October (29th October in US) + some goodies:

I admit, it was the Coke Zero the figurines that nailed me to commit to this unusually expensive movie-going experience. But when I think about it, the figurines themselves worth about $40 ($20 each x 2) if I had bought them on their own. So with the Poster + 3 x 3D glasses + Marvel Bag not to mention the movie ticket itself, the whole thing just pays for itself. Got a really good seat too. All in all, I figured it's worth the price.

they don't completely piss on their characters and everything they stand for.

The Loki figurine is cuter than it should be. What's VMAX btw? I'm American so is that the European version of IMAX or something?

Edit: No, it has to be American since it's being sold in dollars. lol. Never heard of VMAX either way.

VMAX is just a term used by EVENT Cinemas, a huge cinema chain here in Sydney/Australia, to describe their large-ass screen where they screen event films like Thor, Man of Steel, etc.

Being better than most of Marvel's output is like being better than most of Len Wiseman's output. It's not exactly bar to be proud of clearing. Man of Steel's story was vapid and lazy.

That's a nice package. I wonder if we have anything like that in the States, especially Vegas.

It's actually what Event Cinemas use to charge their audiences more to watch movies on their bigger, main screens - that used to cost the same as any other movie. On the plus side, they changed all the seats to these big, wide comfy leather things.

Well, that too. But I have to admit that I prefer that to cheaper but softdrink-stained, flea-infested seats Greater Union cinemas used to have before EVENT took that lot in George Street over.

I'll always head to Bondi Junction Event - which have gotten better about the weightlifters in the gym downstairs shaking the whole fucking cinema every time they drop the bar. I used to get free Vmax tickets because of that annoying shit.
