They would matter more in tournaments. I have played several players with Legendaries and they have lost against my Pokemons from the first Elite Four.
I would recommend looking into them since the game tells you about the values which they didn't in the past.

Most people don't bother. Once in a while you'll run into someone with perfect stats on all their Pokémon, but there's at least as many who've just played the game with their favourites and not worried about stats.

If you want to get serious about winning, on the other hand...

I pretty much figured it would come down to the really competitive stuff. I see myself as a casual right now in terms of battles, I do like the idea of taking it more seriously though.

I'd take Sucker Punch over Fake Out, personally. It hits threats like Gengar for Super Effective damage, and has a much higher base power.

Egg hatching is based on the number steps while you have it in your party. Just get a flame body Pokemon (e.g. Fletchinder/Talonflame) to make it hatch faster, and ride your bike back and forth on a long path (such as in front of the daycare).

I'm building a troll team right now.

I don't feel like getting my 3DS out to get the move sets, but I have a Mega Venusaur(the only really good thing on the team but it seems to be doing wonders fucking with people because of thick fat), a Zoroark, a Hawlucha, a Clefable, an Exploud and my favorite... a Wailord with bounce. I love sending out Zoroark disguised as Venusaur or Wailord and then using Flamethrower.

Basically just run around with it. Find a stretch and just go back and forth on your bike/roller blades. Should only take a few minutes. Check the summary of the egg to see it's status ("isnt close to hatching" --> "may be close to hatching" --> will hatch soon!")

Greninja is very popular so it makes sense, I'm spamming wonder trade with Froakies too. Sometimes I get something good but people from Japan are usually the worst one

Any thoughts? I'm sure it has all sorts of problems, but any particular huge flaws or change suggestions? I had a really hard time deciding on anything to use since I wanted to avoid 'mons I'd trained in past games, and it's also restricted to what's findable in XY. You sure you want that Scissor Mega? Normal Scissor with a choice band or scarf or even life orb and technician works best imo. Not sure if Mega is the way to go for this mon!

Hidden Power is determined by the amount of IVs your Pokemon has. I think max IVs in everything is Dark. You can search for specific IV spreads that are needed in order to get a certain HP type.

You're locked into one move every time the Pokemon is sent into battle, not one move per battle. You can switch into something else and send it out again later.

Does anyone know if it is possible to farm Metal Coats anywhere in-game? I'm looking for yet another for my perfect IV Scyther.

Alternatively, I can compensate someone for their Metal Coat with a Level 52 Scizor. It doesn't have any perfect IVs, but it's there for anyone who doesn't care about that or is looking to complete their Pokedex.

I love how people keep using fire and ice type moves on my Mega Venusaur even though it has Thick Fat. One guy even switched a Greninja into it to ice beam it when it had a +1 growth, as you can tell his Greninja didn't last long.

That's a valid point. It's why I tried to go for a defensive swords dance variant, it seems like the only way to really make use of the mega (though even that really misses leftovers). Honestly though I think CB is his best set by a long shot. I think the biggest reason he's there though, is that I want to make use of some shiny new tool (ie something Mega in there); even if maybe that isn't a great reason. So if I change him (which I'm pretty open to), I'd want another mega mon somewhere. Is Mega Ttar worth it maybe? Gengar seems like far and away the best of that lot, but I don't really want to go for him for now.

Well, I just started breeding Goomys. Started with this:

One egg and ten minutes later I got a Female, Bold, Gooey with 31 iv's in HP, Def, Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Spd..... I'm the luckiest guy alive.

Get rid of all the fliers with Grninja Ice and Galv Thunder combo, Flinchhax all their ground forces.

You can't fly for a while yet, but there's a shortcut to the daycare through Connecting Cave once you can use Strength.
