I caught a second shiny Clawitzer, so I put it up on the GTS for a Yveltal. Got the trade within minutes, and I'm now trading it around to get one with a good nature. <3 X/Y.

So, if my HP at 145 went down to 75, why would the next attack of the same power kill me?

Maybe, maybe not. There's a range of how much any given attack will do. The formula that calculates damage has a random roll in it that can't really be accounted for.

Quick question about getting EVs from horde battles: does the Pokemon that I want to get the stat boosts need to be the one that wipes out the horde, or do they just need to participate? (Ex: send weak Pokemon in first, then swap in stronger one to clear out the horde)

I think I might try to run Weakness Policy on my Aegislash and get rid of swords dance. I really want to run Iron Head on him but can't justify losing Sacred Sword or Shadow Sneak.

Neither. Just turn on Exp. Share, they'll get the EVs too. (Make sure you have them hold the power item though, not the one that fights.)

Ok, I have no idea if I'm doing this IV breeding right or not. In the day care, I have a male Gible with
x/31/31/31/x/31 holding a Destiny Knot. I have a female Gible with 31/x/31/x/31/x holding an everstone to pass down the Jolly nature. Why can't I get a perfect IV Gible with these pokemon?

My understanding after breeding these Scythers is that Destiny Knot merely increases the number of potential IVs passed down from the parents, not guarantee that five of them will be inherited.

Doesn't Destiny Knot only pass down 5 IVs?

Can anyone provide me with a primer on Pokemon-Amie and the Super Training stuff? I get what they're for, more or less, but I feel like I'm missing something.

I understand that, but by using these pokemon I still have the chance of getting the perfect IVs right? In the first batch of eggs from them none even had "outstanding potential", they were all "relatively superior."

Patience, young one.

Keep breeding, you'll get the one you need eventually.

Like I said, it's all down to chance. You may only have 3 or 4 IVs inherited, with the remaining ones completely random. Hell, sometimes I ended up with only one IV inherited even though the parents had 4 and 5 IVs respectively. On one occassion, I even ended up with a 0 Speed IV even though both parents had 31.

I'm not expert on the subject, so I could be wrong but that's my conclusion.

Is there a way to see your Link Battle record? I can only see how many wins I have on my Profile on PSS. PGL seems to be only for random matches. I've only battled via inviting friends, and I'd be disappointed if I can't see any record/details of battle.

Well, a 'chance' of getting perfect IVs is a pretty loose term. You'd have a chance if you just caught any Pokemon, or bred any random things with a total of 3 stats at 31 between them.

It's very possible with those stats. But you still have to get a little lucky. Especially in the stats where only one parent has 31.

Alright lol, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing this wrong/going insane. I'll keep at it and then wonder trade all my useless Gibles away ~

Which of these builds look better for Goodra?

Assault Vest / Gooey / Bold
252 Def / 252 HP / 4 Sp. Atk

Assault Vest / Gooey / Bold
252 Def/ 252 Sp. Atk / 4 HP

I'm leaning more towards the second build.
